I don't know if we should have special standards for women in the military or not The way that I see it is that the military accepts both men and women. That did not tear apart Feminism in the slightest. He ended up agreeing with fundamental beliefs of feminism, but 'backed up' men's rights by saying he does not think men's rights has the attention that women's rights does.

I've always thought that male characters were pretty neutral. I mean men can either idolize or hate them, and girls can either idolize or hate them and be attracted to them (sorry for you taking you out of the equation LGBTs), but for female characters, I don't think I've ever idolized one, but I know I have been attracted to them. So it just makes sense that it's easier to make a male lead. I'd like to hear some thoughts about this because I think I may be a little biased.
