It’s also important to keep in mind that if a woman doesn’t want to have a child, more likely than not she’s going to abort it. If a man doesn’t want to have a child, he’s likely just going to stay away and pay child support. Obviously this makes it so that fewer men request custody than women.

Patriarchy is a very nebulous term that people change the meaning of to fit whatever their current argument is. Patriarchy, as I would define it, is a system in which men as a social group hold political power over women. In a democracy, where politicians are beholden to the will of the voters, no gender faces political oppression. (As in, having more power to influence the laws and governance of a country compared to other genders.) This is very apparent if you look at where abortion was banned…

I don’t know why dentists are so hesitant to believe their patients when they’re in pain. I was getting dental fillings a while back, and when the dentist used local anesthesia I didn’t feel any numbing. I told them a couple of times but they just kept saying “Oh it’ll set in after a few minutes” It wasn’t until I started crying from the pain when they were drilling into my tooth that they finally gave me a second shot. Why can’t they just believe us? Do they think we have some reason to lie?

Well since you acknowledge that, hopefully you’re smart enough to understand why people want the old mod team gone. We could’ve had a new one that actually communicates with each other, has enough time and energy to moderate the sub and doesn’t make huge, community-destroying decisions without even considering what we want.

I’ve read that thread and I stand by my opinion that the old mods shouldn’t be invited back. At best they were incompetent/didn’t have the time to moderate the sub (in which case they shouldn’t be mods), at worst they nearly destroyed this sub for a completely unrealistic and selfish goal of moving the community to a crappy site no one will use. I think the animosity is well deserved, especially considering the fact that the people who created this problem in the first place are getting invited back. TTM’s reaction, while arguably aggressive, was completely justified. One thing that people don’t consider in this case is that in much of the world, if a woman doesn’t want to have children, she has the option of abortion. Naturally, this means there’s fewer court cases with women not wanting custody, because most of the ones who didn’t want children would’ve aborted the fetus.

If children can decide they want to go through puberty, why can’t they decide to postpone puberty? What if they don’t take puberty blockers and later regret it? They’re completely reversible if they decide to stop taking puberty blockers. It’s just a statistical fact that the vast majority of people who go on puberty blockers do not regret it.

No offense, but it seems to me like you just find bisexual men “icky” and are trying to backwards-justify it. Bisexual men end up in straight relationships more because there are more straight women than there are gay men. Yes, I do. Any MRA community I’ve visited apart from this one has had a large misogyny problem. Sometimes I see that here too but in my experience it’s rare. Obviously I’m biased too, but imo most mainstream feminist communities are quite a lot worse on the topic of minimization than this sub. You’d have a very difficult time even getting them to admit systemic discrimination against men even exists.

What you’re describing is frequent in both MRA and feminist circles. Bias is the only reason it’s easier to see in MRA communities.
