I never said the idea itself is bad. The proponent of said idea is obvious not capable of logically supporting it, therefore no goos can come of a discussion. If the idea is suggested by someone who can adequately defend it then there is a point engaging in conversation as something may come of it. And also, you understand that "strawman" isn't what you're referring to, right? You're looking for "ad hominem".
