| 1 | Woman jailed for false rape claim against soldierit just says they did not proceed- this could be for any number of reasons. We’re going off on a tangent you’re still not addressing the main point I was making. | /r/MensRights | 22/08/22 12:43 PM |
| 0 | Woman jailed for false rape claim against soldierThis is data from a university police department in America so of course the data is different to in England and Wales. Also the 1% was referring to the amount of cases which ended in conviction against the man, it wasn’t 1% of cases which went to police. Also you’re assuming the 44.9% which didn’t proceed are all false, which makes no sense as an assumption. These likely didn’t proceed because the accuser decided to drop it or because there wasn’t enough evidence to say either way whether the m… | /r/MensRights | 22/08/22 12:24 PM |
| -7 | Woman jailed for false rape claim against soldierThe statistics would suggest otherwise. Obviously you can never determine an exact percentage as different places have different definitions for false accusations, most studies done into this suggest that less than 10% of cases are false. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_accusation_of_rape My main point was that there clearly aren’t loads of innocent men whose lives are ruined by false accusations, because most of these accusations get dropped before court. Once they go to court conviction rate is much higher. My main point is that clearly 99% of these women aren’t lying, when in most cases women don’t have much to gain from a … | /r/MensRights | 22/08/22 10:34 AM |
| -27 | Woman jailed for false rape claim against soldierWhat makes you think this is a rare example of justice being served? In England and Wales less than 1% of rape cases end in conviction, and studies suggest that only around 4-10% of rape accusations are found to be false. That suggests that there’s far more women out there who don’t get justice than innocent men wrongly accused. | /r/MensRights | 22/08/22 10:09 AM |
