I've never known a male cat that wasn't a complete goober. Every single one has had an insanely big personality.

Many years ago, I put my men's advocacy on pause. I originally for into the MRA scene about 10 or 11 years ago before it got weird (think Warren Farrell, not TRP). I was eventually put off by the misogyny of that movement, so I jumped ship to MensLib. Didn't take me long to realize that MensLib exists to act as a pressure relief on any potential men's movement; that is, the goal of MensLib is to either redirect any energy for a men's movement into feminism (with the primary goal of benefiting wo…

Objective morality either does or does not exist, irrespective of whether its absence causes problems for people. You can say that this woman's issues are due to "moral relativism" and evil lieberals, but that doesn't form an argument for the existence of an objective morality. Someone can be a shithead without it being some deeply entrenched left-wing conspiracy.

I'd like to see it broken down by type of lumberjack.

Do it because you want to, not because you feel pressured or want to fit in. Lots of people on here will tell you that getting married as a man is always a bad decision, and I disagree with that. I know lots of people- men and women- who are happily married and have been for a long time. You just have to enter the marriage on the right footing. Do it because you want to build a life together, not because she wants a stronger legal attachment to you or your parents are telling you to.

What the hell is this doing here? Is this really the kind of high-quality content we want in this sub? 4-chan greentexts?

I think this is an interesting idea, and it plays into the 'male disposability' idea that we in the MR crowd tend to adhere to. I think you're going to get shit on in this specific subreddit for being even the slightest bit sympathetic towards women, but I personally think your idea is worth consideration.

No discussion about gender can take place in terms of absolutes. There will always be an exception to any rule that tries to broadly differentiate one half of the human population from the other. But we know that women value a financially stable male partner more than men value a financially stable female partner. It's just how it is, and I don't understand how your anecdote really contributes to the conversation.

I think it's important to distinguish between "lay(wo)man's" feminism and "academic" feminism. Academic feminism isn't found just in universities, but it's the source of some of the more ridiculous claims that we like to make fun of. Layman's feminism is basically acknowledging that women have had and continue to have issues of their own to deal with, and those need to be recognized; they can do that without inventing 'the patriarchy'. It's similar to religion- the views your average believer wi…

As far as losing jobs goes, the Great Recession affected men as a group more than women. I would not be surprised to learn that more male-only or 'coed' shelters were opened to deal with the rapid increase in the number of homeless men.

Can you name the club? I'd be interested in not visiting it.

Same with the Irish, I've heard. Which seems kind of odd but I guess it makes sense given the historical oppression of Ireland.

Do you have a link to a story about that case?

No, they aren't. They don't care about fixing reddit, in fact they would be delighted to see people abandon the site en-masse. Don't ask for justification into why they themselves don't leave. They don't want to improve things. They want to make straight, white, cis-male redditors feel as unwelcome as minority redditors supposedly feel.

I think you may be confused about the definition of the word "cisgendered". It has nothing to do with sexual orientation; rather it comes out of the study of transsexuality. A cisgendered man is a biological man who identifies as a man; a cisgendered woman is a biological woman who identifies as a woman. This is an important word to have when discussing trans issues, because you need to differentiate between people whose self-identified gender does or does not correspond to their biological sex.

No it doesn't. It's well known among MRA circles. If you aren't familiar with the info, which we take as a given, then the onus is on YOU to look it up. We do not have to prove every contention we make. You might as well get used to the idea now. This isn't how rational discussion works. I consider myself an MRA, and I didn't know about that statistic until just now. Your mindset is the same as a feminist who takes the concept of patriarchy as axiomatic- it's harmful and dogmatic, and doesn't do…

Poor analogy. I hardly suspect the parties involved in a gay marriage are unaware of each other's sexual orientation.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
