How did you work out the living together and dating? Did he bring his dates home? Did you do the same? My STBX wife is adamant about this being her house too and can do whatever with whoever in the house. We haven’t even filed yet and I strongly believe she’s making plans for someone to be here while I’m not home. It seems so dirty and disrespectful!

In so many words I did say that but tried to not be hostile or curse directly at her. Who knows if she was recording and later use it against me.

You are absolutely right. I told her already I’m not being nice anymore. She lost that right!

I was indecisive when she laid it all out on me. I’ve had time to think now and get advice. I’m standing my ground and not leaving.

Thanks for sharing your story and advice. I’m sorry it took so long for you. Two years wow! There are no kids involved so I hope the process is a lot easier. My dogs are my kids and love them like any dog lover could. I want what’s best for them too and me staying with them in this house is best in my eyes.

Yeah our civil plan was to sell the house and split it but she changed her mind and wants to keep it for her. I told her the same. So it’s going to have to go to what the court decides

Great advice. I’m looking into most of that today. Should be no issues with bank accounts and they are not joint but calling the bank anyway

Yeah I thought the same. It’s trespassing because I still own at least 50% of everything in the house.

She had and still has issues with money and spending. I put a stop to that years ago and we have separate checking and savings accounts. I will call the bank though to make sure she doesn’t have any access for sure

I already suspected she does have someone else maybe not completely but working on something. I keep throwing out my suspicions about it to her but she’s doesn’t admit nor deny. I did catch her cheating 5 years ago. We worked it out, swept it under the rug but it still has had some weight on our marriage, my intimacy and trust. Edit: Yeah she works, just started a new job over a month ago. I think that’s where she met someone.

I do have some security cameras yeah. She deleted my Ring doorbell from my phone and wanted to get cameras in her control. I put a stop to that mostly because it seemed suspect. She resorted to disconnecting the wifi while I was out of town helping family. Who knows what she was up to! I might need a secret backup wifi

Good points. I don’t want to run into a scenario where she gets a credit card or something to buy/rent a place and I’m later screwed with that debt.

I told her since this is her decision she needs to go to the courts and start the process. I didn’t want to be the first one to start the legal process thinking it would look like I’m the one who wanted things to end and affect any legal decisions down the road. Thoughts?

Thanks for your advice. I told her almost those exact words over and over. She keeps saying it’s easier if I leave since I work remote and can work anywhere. I think it’s easy for HER and she can care less about my situation in the matter.

Thinking about a lawyer yeah. She threatened with a lawyer too after we said we would do this civil and peaceful and on our own terms. I had time to think and people to talk to and realized I no longer have to do anything to be the nice guy anymore or on her terms. As far as she is concerned the marriage is over so I have to think the same way and look after myself.

She said she would take over the mortgage payment and everything else but after I had time to think, I wised up. Thanks for your comment

During our argument about this last night I mentioned I wasn’t going to leave so she couldn’t do whatever with whoever in MY home that I’ve built a life in and paid for. She said well if you are staying then I may bring someone here maybe not now but let’s say in 3 months. What are my moral and legal rights? I assume I can demand that person not to enter my home, call the police, etc. What if that person tries to be hostile or she does? I still have the right to protect myself and my property ri…

I agreed to help her pay first and last month’s rent if she found something. I think in her heart she doesn’t believe I deserve to have to be the one to leave but she’s fighting to get me to agree to leave anyway. I feel I have to look out for myself at this point.
