You don't really know this person, and you are filling in the blanks with wishful thinking. Then, you are comparing this romanticized version of him with your real-life boyfriend. Of course, he doesn't stack up. You need to decide what to do about your current relationship independent of this new suitor.

Oh I figured the time was the reason it lasted as long as it did. Keep up the good work. :)

Textbook definition of "not what this sub is about." Hopefully it will be gone soon.

I don't know. Between Reddit's large and moderately diverse user base the odds that any given scenario are pretty good. So while there is no problem with being sceptical, there is almost no limit to the things people can rationalize for themselves.

How is claiming this was indicative of a larger future problem being a "slut apologist." I was calling out the attention seeking as a red flag.

She wanted him to "fight for her" even if it was just billiards. So I disagree. She will do these types of things again looking for that validation.

I'm super late to the game here but you need to take a hard look at these "friends." If one of my friends started to work out and noticeably try to improve himself I would do nothing but pump him up and even join in. I've had friends like what you're describing in the past and it's toxic. Every improvement you make somehow hurts them and they try to knock you down. Keep up the good work and try to cultivate friendships that pull you forward instead of holding you back.

The fact that everyone thought it was the USA shows us how fucked up it all is.

It does hurt when you have to carry extra weight on a project team. And they can't fire the dead weight for fear of a lawsuit.

He laughs. It was a rhetorical question. He shouldn't have given a shit no matter what the outcome.

I think he knew the answer was no, didn't care what the answer was, and hoped she'd see how she'd fucked up.

I bet you're a southerner, or something. That right there is where you lost me. I was following this little flame war with a surprising amount of objectivity until this. You saying people deserve certain things by birth (your definition of rights), Demonspawn saying that your "rights" are what you're given or what you fight to get. I can see where you're both coming from then BAM train derail by this stupid bigoted comment that proves nothing except that you are, in fact, an elitist. This make t…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
