This was a great read, thank you for sharing this. I myself discovered trp/mgtow a couple months back, and have prioritized becoming financially independent and moving out ASAP as soon as I land a grad position. I can't imagine how gratifying it feels to put yourself first and satisfy your own expectations. I'm glad things worked out for you.

Nope, you're actually making quite a terrific decision. I cut out all social media a couple months ago when I was 21 as well. Haven't look back since. If anyone gives me an odd/judgemental look when I say I don't use social media then it tells me exactly who I should avoid.

For me, the emotional maturity gained from being completely independent outweighs the loss of income spent on rent, food, electricity etc by far. Not even close in comparison. Yes, you should move out.

I feel like I may be judged for not haven’t any social media especially for a 22 year old. Great, let's you know who to avoid. I'm 22 with no social media as well, it's a complete waste of time. Never felt better.

You feel jealous of your friend because of a lack of success in your own life (in general, not just with women). From reading your post, it seems like you have nothing in your life that you are proud/grateful of. Try and forge some success in your life whether that be with women, your career, finances or hobbies etc. What will once have been jealousy will turn into inspiration.

By your nihilistic mindset, since nothing matters, would you be okay with being subject to insufferable pain for 40 years until you died? No? Okay, so you have preferred states of being, even if the end result is the same. Now, by that same logic, I like to continuously work on myself because I don't want to be a worthless trashcan. Find your preferred state.

I honestly don't know. This has actually stumped me. I guess it depends if you actually enjoy spending time with her and what you're looking for. I think one thing you should do is actually discuss your thoughts with her in person and see how she responds.

There's no material that's suddenly going to make you confident or a social butterfly with women. That comes from experience, so you're either gonna approach and socialise or you're gonna suffer in silence. Pick one.

Your response is correct (hard next), if you ever doubt that then back to the sidebar you go.

So much this. I'd also add that they're probably nice people (at least in my case) but when you have different needs, you're going to associate with people who fulfill those needs.

Tell me about it, I'm in a similar predicament. I think you have two strategies. Avoid as much as possible. Voice your dissatisfaction with them/your situation. With 2, you can choose how direct to voice your concerns from blatantly calling them out on their shit to suggestion like "we should go out more" or whatever the case may be. You get the idea.

Make your goal constant self improvement and adopt an attitude of "there is ALWAYS something I can learn or improve on". Keep in mind, that you'll never "reach" this goal, so make sure you enjoy the process, but don't get comfortable. It works well for me.

It is as you say, this is more to do with your insecurity than anything else. If you don't like the answer she gave, then be more direct and upfront, e.g "I'd like to take you to dinner and grab drinks after". If she says yes, then cool, if not then next. You have no time for games.

You don't have to act like it didn't happen, but be okay with it (ergo have a solid frame). "Just smile and do whatever the fuck you were going to do anyway" - some trp guy.

I think the fact that you care about your reputation/image in the eyes of these girls is a bigger problem. Back to the sidebar you go.

There is no magic image or pre requisite needed to approaching women, you either do it or suffer in silence.

I’m far too jaded to truly care what some girl thinks, but it does bother me to a degree. I'll take "what is a contradiction" for $200, Alex. On the real though, I think you're focusing too much on the fact that it's false. Let's say it was true, everyone else was packing heat and you weren't. It still doesn't matter. If you don't make the cut for these women, then you don't make the cut. Don't dwell on it and simply next.

I would say your problem is experiencing burnout. It's probably very mentally taxing for you to be on constant self improvement mode 24/7 for 3 weeks without any self-indulgent activity. I would say intermix indulgent activities for 1 hour, (however not ones like reddit, maybe rock climbing, salsa dancing, arts & crafts etc) throughout those 3 weeks, and you'll be less inclined to binge. Haven't tested as I don't have this problem, but feel free to try it and see how it goes.

Perhaps you've hit a stage where other activities have taken a priority in your life, or perhaps casually sleeping around just isn't something you're interested in anymore. There's nothing wrong with either answer.

Unfortunately, I'm not in a much better situation so I can't help too much, but I'm working on it. My strategy is controlled exposure to combat anxiety. Start with casual conversation at a bus stop, move on to chatting with someone you meet because of a hobby, move onto complimenting random women you see on the street, move on to trying to engage in a little more conversation, you get the idea. The whole idea is to shock your system incrementally, without throwing you in the deep end straight aw…

And they don’t want to sleep with me because I don’t look like like The Rock? Is that the reason then, Is that what I should have said instead? Who said this was solely about looks? You are not someone that women want to sleep with period. The underlying reasons behind that are for you to figure out. I'm just calling you out on your bullshit that its "bad luck".

The fact that you come to this sub asking for advice, complaining about being sick of "watching guys hook up with all these women while I’m forever stuck in the sidelines watching them do it" whilst you pin your lack of success on bad luck and can't even be honest with yourself. No it isn't a perfectly reasonable explanation. Here's the reason: you are not someone that women want to sleep with. That's it. All there is to it. That's my problem. If you're not going to accept reality (including the…

Any particular stuff on the sidebar? Everything under theory reading and references to start. Work on myself how? Maybe look at some of the reasons why you haven't even gotten to first base yet. Confidence issues? Lift, groom yourself, dress better. Anxiety? Controlled exposure to things that scare you, approach etc. You get the point. MONK MODE. And is the whole thing with the cock carousel real? yes, especially with the hot girls that you want to go for.

Read the sidebar. Lift. Work on yourself. Approach women. Read the sidebar.

Don't delete social media because of women and the mental masturbation that ensues lmao. Delete social media because it's a giant waste of time and in my case, because you compare yourself to others and it makes you feel shit. I did it last month. Haven't looked back, feels great. Nowadays, I just use messenger to keep in contact with close friends.

I would say send her a message asking to reschedule, if she's interested she'll respond, if not then next. Don't think there is much more to it than that.

Oh confidence in terms of just speaking to people throughout my various activities. I was even less confident back then. Being confident enough to cold approach is still something I'm working on 😊

It's been about 70 days since I started no fap and although I'm no way near cold approaching women, I have noticed an increase in confidence/energy when I interact with people on a day to day basis while I'm at the gym or going out. I feel healthier and happier to be honest, and I'm so glad after countless times telling myself I was going to quit, I finally did it.. and I'm never going back.

How would you go about talking to people at a bar if everyone is within a group? It just feels a bit contrived to just but t in and introduce yourself to everyone.

Well you obviously need to make an income somehow so pursuing them full time is infeasible, unless you find a way to monetise this. I'd say pursue them in your spare time for now.

You experiment and you try different things and you see what sticks. Do some soul searching and figure out who you are and what you want out of life. Keep in mind, this isn't an instantaneous process. I thought software was my passion, but over the course of my degree I've actually come to resent it a bit (thus the empty feeling). It turns out I just really want to film stuff, make people laugh and share my creativity with the world, which makes sense given that I fantasised a lot as a child and…

I wouldn't use 'hobby' as the word, but I'd say you need something meaningful to pursue, because it seems like you don't have that "thing" that makes you get out bed in the morning with drive. I'd also guess part of what is contributing to your emptiness (correct me if i'm wrong), is lack of meaningful connections and relationships in your life. I'm in a very similar situation as you and the feeling sucks, but I'm working on it day by day and that's all you can really do tbh.
