Which study? Link it and I'll give it a read.

I do. What I am trying to get through to you is that your problems are overwhelmingly caused by other men, not women. You're scapegoating women to hide yourself from that harsh reality.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 10:02 PM

Statistically, most violent crime is committed by men. Most men are not violent criminals. There's a very clear distinction there. ignoring ton of stuff that's committed equally by men and women (sexual violence, domestic violnce) Have a source for that?
/r/MensRights28/09/21 10:00 PM

So you've essentially proven my point. Which is that your original comment of "obviously larger, stronger people cause more serious violent crime" is incorrect. Also "accounts for much of the unexplained heritability of violent criminality" means that it could still account for some of it.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 09:58 PM

Sigh. You're not following the point. If a Christian shoots up a mosque (or vice versa), you examine whether their faith had anything to do with the crime. Not looking into that potential link would be foolish. In the same way, someone's gender should be considered when untangling the motivations for a given crime. It may or may not be relevant in that particular instance but it shouldn't be ignored.

It's not "sexist" – it's the statistical reality. Why men commit more crime is another question altogether.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 09:48 PM

You're reading that part wrong. It's saying that height is a factor in violent crime, albeit not that significant of a factor. It's using 'height' in the sense of a generic factor rather than indicating "shorter" or "taller". I quoted the primary conclusion: "shorter stature was associated with increased risk of violent offending".
/r/MensRights28/09/21 09:43 PM
-1

Actually, I was simply pointing out that size does not necessarily correlate to aggression. Meaning that anyone, of any size, has the capacity to be aggressive/violent. However, the reality is that men commit 88% percent of violent crime in the US. A number that is certainly even higher in more male-dominated societies.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 09:39 PM

Obviously larger, stronger people cause more serious violent crimes A study of close to 1 million men actually found that, among men, "shorter stature was associated with increased risk of violent offending". Source.

By your stellar logic, let's just discount every other scientific field dominated by men. The level of mental gymnastics you're doing to dodge the reality that men are the more violent gender is actually quite impressive.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 08:50 PM

Aha the level of delusion in the sub is incredible. The statistics don't lie about which gender commits the vast majority of violence. People who have mostly been brought up by women. Are you targeting single mothers with this or just mothers in general?
/r/MensRights28/09/21 08:45 PM

Here's a statistic on sociopathy: ASPD is 2–3% of the population — This constitutes a prevalence of 3.42–5.34% in men, and 0.44–0.86%. Again, men are far more likely to be sociopaths. So to answer your questions, yes.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 08:36 PM

When do you? You're seemingly dead-set on deflecting blame despite the statistical evidence staring you in the face.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 08:32 PM
-2

Nope. I'm saying that there are clearly underlying reasons why men commit the vast majority of violent crime. By ignoring the fact that they do, you'll never get closer to understanding those reasons.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 08:30 PM
-2

Yup and who wrote the vast majority of those laws genius? Men. Look no further than Biden's 94 crime bill.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 08:15 PM
1

Yes, men commit violence for a variety of reasons. Some of those are certainly tied to gender norms and expectations. But asking why men commit the vast majority of violence is the first step to actually untangling why that is.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 08:12 PM
1

I've presented a few logical counterpoints. But sure, stay angry – people like you are the reason no one takes this subreddit seriously. Which is somewhat unfortunate as there are plenty of legitimate issues facing men.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 08:09 PM
0

Lol by your own logic, we should just ignore the fact that 75% of the homeless population is male rather than investigating why that is. That's all I'm saying about violent crime. Admit that men commit the overwhelming majority of it and try to figure out why.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 08:02 PM
0

You're quick to names because you clearly don't have a great handle on your emotions. Don't shift the blame to me because you're incapable of having a level-headed conversation.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 07:58 PM
0

That's exactly my point lol. If you don't accept the fact that men commit the vast majority of violent crime, then how are you ever going to have a serious look into what issues lead to that?
/r/MensRights28/09/21 07:57 PM
0

Nope. We should investigate why poor people commit more crime and find solutions to rectify that situation (affordable housing, jobs programs, etc.). Not rocket science my friend. Just a simple examination of causal relationships.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 07:53 PM
4

So you truly don't think it's worthwhile exploring why roughly 88% of homicides in the US are committed by men?
/r/MensRights28/09/21 07:52 PM
-1

Certainly not a BLM radical feminist. Just a guy who thinks both the gender of the victim and perpetrator should be considered when looking at crime and the underlying societal issues that cause it. There are plenty of legitimate "men's issues" that lead to higher crime rates in my opinion. I suppose that makes me a radical in an echo chamber like this. Cheers.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 07:49 PM
0

If it doesn't matter then why do criminal profilers always include gender in their profile? The gender of the perpetrator says a lot about the motivations of the crime – it can also give insights into any structural issues that led to it.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 07:42 PM
-4

I come to this subreddit because I'm a man who's curious about these issues and wants to live in a society with other good men. I don't know why you're hell-bent on deflecting the blame away from violent men – we should be united against that. But sure, shout me down and call me names. Great way to have a conversation and help people understand your side – cheers mate.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 07:41 PM
3

Such simplistic thinking. If gender doesn't have anything to do with crime why do FBI profilers always include gender?
/r/MensRights28/09/21 07:38 PM
-2

Black communities have higher incidences of violent crimes for a range of socioeconomic factors. In the same way, men don't commit crimes at higher rates for no reason. Ignoring the fact that they are responsible for most crime prevents us from actually addressing underlying issues.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 07:32 PM
-13

Exactly. Isn't it worth examining why that is so we can find the root causes of issues that lead to violence? Why ignore statistical realities? There are many societal issues that lead to men committing more crime – if we ignore those then we aren't going to get anywhere.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 07:28 PM
0

There's no need to "find a way to blame men". Statistics show that men are overwhelmingly responsible for violent crimes. If we want to protect BOTH men and women, we need to do more to figure out why that is and address the root causes.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 07:26 PM
-8

Just because someone disagrees with you they are not automatically a "troll". It's not about what criminals "look like", it's what the statistics say about them. And the statistics show that the vast majority are men. I'm not sexist because I point out the reality. To ensure equal "police and societal protection" it's worth examining why men commit the overwhelming majority of violent crime.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 07:22 PM
-40

And the vast majority of criminals are...men. Why wouldn't it matter? If the gender of the victims matters (as OP claims it does) then why doesn't the gender of the perpetrator? Agreed. Both genders should feel safe from violence. But if one gender is causing the vast majority of the violence then that is worth considering when working toward a solution.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 07:19 PM
-9

Lol, nice victim mentality you've got on you. The only "shame" I ever got when I was a virgin was from other men.
/r/MensRights28/09/21 07:06 PM

I've conceded points to multiple people in this thread and have agreed with their stance. I'm actually interested in many of the issues you discuss in this sub (I'm a man too), but I've found that even when I disagree in a rational way, I get downvoted to oblivion. This makes it difficult to try and engage in good faith. Anyways, have a good one.

I'm the guy OP is calling a "misandrist". Funnily enough, I agree 100% with you. The characterization of the average Afghan man as a coward is absolutely pathetic. It's the height of hypocrisy for both Western men and women to criticize the character of people facing a radicalized and sociopathic regime. That being said, I fully stand behind my original point that men who comply with the Taliban will be treated better than the women who comply. However, as you rightfully point out, those that do…

Ah yes, because OP's "No.They get bodied" comment was just jam-packed with so many "rock solid facts". I'm a guy who certainly isn't an "avowed feminist". I also acknowledge the fact that men are and will continue to suffer horrifically under the Taliban. Everyone loses. But most men will still be able to walk the street, they will still be able to hold a job, and they won't be kidnapped and married off against their will. Ultimately, innocent people of both genders are fucked due to the subjuga…

Women also get beaten, raped, and slaughtered for not complying. Yes, both genders will suffer horrifically under the Taliban. My simple point was that men will ultimately have more "freedoms".

Who said "paradise for men"? All I said was that most men will be able to have a semblance of a life – most women will not. Please send me a link on all the brutal female Taliban members, I'm interested in reading it. I'm sure they make up a huge percentage of the Taliban!!! Edit: I googled "female Taliban fighters" and this was one of the top links: "Taliban fighters set an Afghan woman on fire for 'bad cooking". I think that speaks for itself. Lol surprise, surprise. You've been commenting all…

I'm a man fuckwit. I traveled extensively and know plenty about what men and women face in different parts of the world "honey" Ultimately, it's men subjugating both men and women. We should be angry at these radicalized, fucked up men rather than putting down the innocent victims of both genders. This sub claims to support men's rights but seems to channel their rage at women rather than the real perpetrators of these crimes: other men.

The sub is the epitome of "zero-sum" thinking. Of course I care about the "torture and slavery of men" but the reality is that many women will face similar fates. On top of that, they won't be able to function in society like most men will be able to. Don't forget the educating and empowering women is the way out of these stone-age societies – it's been proven over and over again. Plenty of women will be stoned and tortured to death for "contravening" bullshit Sharia laws. Don't forget about the…

I'm certainly not saying they don't deserve compassion. Of course every innocent man, woman, and child in Afghanistan deserves it. In another thread, I said that we as men are often subject to the violent whims of small groups of radicalized, fucked up men. If we want to show compassion to men then we must condemn the men that treat them this way. Let's be intellectually honest about the root cause of these issues.
/r/MensRights24/08/21 03:08 PM

A) A solid percentage of men are being evacuated and are claiming asylum in neighboring countries. If you look at the pictures and videos of the transport planes and of border crossings it's usually around 80%+ men. B) Men, particularly young single men, have the ability to flee much more easily than women. They can still relatively freely travel and find their way to a border crossing. Under Taliban/Sharia law, women aren't even allowed on the streets without an escort. C) Women have become thi…

No one is saying men are to blame for everything. But there is a certain subsect of men that is responsible for the vast majority of violence and suffering in this world. That's irrefutable.

I'm saying that people have shifted the focus to women because men fighting each other in the country has been a constant for decades. Both men and women will be killed and suffer under the new Taliban regime. The difference is that most men and boys will be able to continue working and getting an education – that likely won't be an option for most women and girls.
/r/MensRights24/08/21 12:55 AM

Aha I can't refute that one mate.

And why do you think that is? Use some critical thinking.
/r/MensRights23/08/21 09:00 PM

And? 50% of the county has been plunged into the fucking Stone Age overnight. Men that comply with the Taliban will still be able to work, receive an education, and live a relatively normal life. The women will receive none of those freedoms.
/r/MensRights23/08/21 08:59 PM

That's because the country has been a clusterfuck of men fighting each other for time immemorial.
/r/MensRights23/08/21 08:57 PM

And once again it's men abusing everyone else. So what's your point? Radicalized and power-hungry men treat both men and women like shit – that's history in a nutshell.

Man, some people in this sub have the reading comprehension of a slug. Where did I say "half the population" – I said "a small group of powerful men". I didn't blame all men because that would be stupid and untrue. I said the "common denominator" is men, which you simply can't dispute. I'm a man. I agree with a lot of things on this sub but also think we need to be realistic about the problems caused by small groups of radicalized men (whatever ideology they cling to). Actually read the post you…

Calm down. I'm a guy that's actually sympathetic with many of the things you talk about on this sub – I think there are plenty of real "men's issues" that we as men need to collectively address. One of them being (as I mentioned above) small groups of violent men that fuck over the rest of us. I'm not even a "feminist". I make a simple point about the reality of geopolitics and get downvoted to oblivion. That's the problem with this sub – it's not that you're wrong, it's just that you're a bunch…
/r/MensRights18/08/21 04:25 PM

Yep, but that's pretty much global history in a nutshell. A small group of powerful men subjugating everyone else through violent means – the common denominator is always men.
/r/MensRights17/08/21 11:01 PM

Well, it is exclusively men forcing Afghanistan back to the stoneage.

What an incredible (ill)logical leap – where did I say they aren't human beings? I said it's sickening and horrific that men will die. My point is, to protect innocent men around the world, we as men should try to figure out why our gender is so prone to killing, raping, and pillaging. I don't have an explanation, unfortunately. I suppose we are biologically predisposed to violence.

You ever thought about who is doing the executing? Who's doing the persecuting? Who's marching into towns and cities across the country and raping and murdering people?Men – in every instance. Now, of course, it's horrific and sickening that male civilians will die. But maybe we should ask ourselves: why is it always men doing these things?

Man, you are one naive dude. FGM is carried out in these communities to perpetuate traditional, patriarchal norms. According to a leading human rights org: FGM is carried out as a way to control women’s sexuality, which is sometimes said to be insatiable if parts of the genitalia, especially the clitoris, are not removed. It is thought to ensure virginity before marriage and fidelity afterward, and to increase male sexual pleasure. You're saying there's no evidence of women being subjugated? Sta…

Draft, wars, circumcision All things forced on men by more powerful men. Historically subjugated means that they've been oppressed by men for millennia and continue to be in many parts of the world. I suggest traveling to a developing country or cracking a history book if you don't understand my point. Don't misinterpret my point. I'm not saying YOU are the issue or that most men we know are the issue. But the powerful, psychopathic men that run our world are most certainly a fucking problem.

I certainly don't hate "men" – I am one. I'm just a realist about who causes the vast majority of problems in our global society: men. We need to seriously re-evaluate what it means to be a man in 2021 – I don't think claiming that we "lack rights" in comparison to the most historically subjugated group on the planet (women) and playing the victim is the right way to go about it.
