Girl you dodged a bullet. I have no patience for “jokes” like that - there’s always a little truth behind them

I told this guy from OLD that I worked in the same industry as him, then he asked me which company so I told him. Turns out my company is much better than his - I didn’t know where he worked at the time. He asked me out on a date and on the date he asked me if I have any connections he can use to get a job where I work. I said no, sorry. Then he ghosted me after the date.

Sad but true. I remind myself of this whenever I get my hopes up about a man.

After getting attached to men after the first date all my life, I’m building a rotation and am no longer attached to ANY of them. Went on a date with a highly educated and accomplished potential HVM Saturday and it went well. Going on a date with a different HVM on Tuesday, and one on Wednesday as well

This happened to me this month. The guy took me on two nice dinner dates. Never mentioned sex once in the span we saw each other (about 2 weeks). Then asked me to come over for our third date so he could cook for me. I said no and he ghosted me!

It inspires me to see that other young women are putting themselves first rather than putting men at the center of their lives. I’m 20 and broke up with my bf of 3 years recently. I centered all my decisions around him and I felt exhausted all the time. Never again. Lately I have been investing in my female friendships and hobbies and it feels so good. I feel like I’m finally becoming who I’m meant to be.

This was my NVM ex. I’m a student (he was a college dropout with a corporate job his daddy helped him get) and he threw a hissy fit at me when I was taking a 24 hour online exam and didn’t text him much that day 🙄 Even though he knew I was taking an exam worth 40% of my grade. Not the only time he did something like that

This is spot on. My first relationship was with a man 10 years older than me (17 and 27) and as I got older I started to recognize his manipulation tactics and I realized he wasn’t as amazing as I thought he was when I first met him. In fact, he was lazy and childish, and it was no surprise he targeted a young girl who would idealize him over manners, gifts, and nice dinners. In our last year together he hated that I could see through his BS so he ramped up the negging and gaslighting. I couldn’…

This. This is one of the reasons I left my ex. He would cancel our plans to help his mom fix her glasses even though she had 3 other pairs 😒

Love this idea. I’m newly single and have been dating casually. Talking to / seeing multiple men is the only way I’m going to do it from now on.

This makes me so happy to read. I was in the same situation. The “relationship” started when I was 17 and he was 27 (legal in my state but by no means ethical). I’m out now after three long years of grooming, emotional abuse, gaslighting, and manipulation. What you said about not leaving him because you thought he was the best you could possibly do resonates so much with me. I thought no one would ever love me as much as he did, but I eventually realized that it wasn’t love at all. I am so happy…

A series of consecutive big arguments during an important time for me. I’m a student and he always started big fights during important times in my life. For example when I was studying for exams. Or one time before I was literally about to go onstage to give a performance (I’m a musician) - this was probably the most evil. It’s like he wanted to see me fail because he was a failure of a person and wanted to bring me down. I just got sick of all the emotional turmoil and started to see him for wh…

I left my narcissist bf of three years in the past month and everything you say is 100% true. I lost all my friends because of this person and went back to him 4 times. Sometimes behind my friends’ backs. I am gone for good now. No looking back. No contact. No regrets, only relief. But I had to make this decision on my own. My family and friends tried to get me to leave him but I picked him over them everyday. Like you said, my advice is to be there for the victim and monitor the situation close…

This is exactly what happened. I finally left after three years (yes, I was 17 when we met). FDS helped me realize what a master manipulator this narcissist and groomer was. He didn't graduate from college and was in a dead end career. Tried to get me to fail out of my top university and become a wife and mother by 25. Thank goodness I came to my senses. I'm set to graduate magna cum laude and have an amazing job set up for after graduation (and will be making more than him lol). Looking back I …

Sad to say this but I used to feed into this extreme internalized misogyny. Thank you to my LVM ex who brainwashed me with redpill garbage about women becoming less desirable after 25. I am only 20 and in my experience, many of these men use this propaganda to scare young women into settling down with the first man that shows interest, and make all women over 25 feel worthless. If anything, women only love life more as they get older. They know themselves better. They accumulate knowledge and ex…

Sounds like she might not know what she wants. Dating apps are tough because a lot of people on them are just looking for attention with no intent to actually date. I wouldn’t take her too seriously until she starts showing up and you don’t have to question her anymore

You are who I aspire to be! I’m 20 and I hope I can say the same about myself in a few years. Very inspirational to read this. Keep your standards sky high, you’re leagues above 99% of the male dating market and if you don’t find anyone who meets your standards, so be it. Better to be alone and focus on cultivating a life of beautiful friendships and hobbies than settle for someone who doesn’t add anything to your life and regret it

Very true. I went through this stage as well and tried hard to make myself into a trad woman. But a lot of the trad men are extremely misogynistic and as you said, want a domestic servant and aren’t willing to be the type of man who is even worthy of a traditional woman. These men are often scrotes in disguise - they have mile high lists of expectations for the woman in their life but they don’t have much to offer themselves.

My boyfriend’s complete loser friend from high school (I don’t support this friendship at all, thankfully he has been distancing himself from this scrote since we started dating) dropped out of college and then took classes at Harvard Extension School, which is essentially a community college - anyone can take classes there as long as they pay. Now he tells people he went to Harvard 🙄

So true. Current bf used to drive 4 hours a DAY to see me - one hour from the city to the country to pick me up, one hour back to the city with me to go out for dinner/lunch/museums/concerts/etc, one hour to drop me back off at home, then one hour back into his home in the city. We did this for about five months and he never complained once. Now that we’ve been together for longer I stay over on the weekends but he still drives 4 hours over the span of the weekend to pick me up and drop me off

So true, COVID is giving men an excuse to be even lazier than normal. This man I met on Hinge in July suggested we go for a walk because it was a COVID safe activity. He said on three separate occasions during that “date” (I cringe at the fact I even agreed to it, I was still a pickmeisha at the time) “my apartment is nearby, wanna see it?” I ended the date shortly after, never texted him again, and then deleted Hinge

This is exactly me and my little sister. We are from the same province and our orphanages were 99% girls and a few boys with disabilities or birth defects. A lot of it goes back to old world misogyny, girls were not desired under the one child policy. But hey, here I am, living an amazing life in the US and happy to be alive.

You get the sense she isn’t truly happy for you when you succeed (for example, she might congratulate you for optics but then start complaining that the same thing isn’t happening for her and gets visibly upset) Makes it obvious she doesn’t like the man you’re dating (and not just this one, the last one and the last one and the one before that too) and tells you to break up with everyone Always complaining and tries to get you to complain too so she feels better about her life Makes it obvious s…

This is something I struggle with too. I’m very introverted and in my early 20’s and sadly have no close HVW friends. As you said it is hard to meet other women during a pandemic. You are not alone, looking forward to reading everyone’s tips

Yup! My grandma divorced her abusive husband in her 60’s and hasn’t looked at a man since. She has a busy social calendar and spends most days playing bridge and lunching with her lady friends. She is perfectly happy and content on her own and I aspire to that level of self love and peace

Boston: 1. Students. Lots of them. The worst are the “woke” Harvard/MIT PhD candidates with overwhelming superiority complexes and fake humility. Will mansplain everything and ask you out for coffee 2. Sports-obsessed dudes with beer bellies and a receding hairline, probably have a thick Boston accent and live in Southie 3. WASP-y finance/consulting bros who grew up in the suburbs and summered on the Cape, went to boarding/prep schools in MA/CT and played hockey or lacrosse, was in a frat at the…
