You say this would an equitable law but I think it would be an equal law, because it is a fact that women are heavily more important in the pregnancy. Men cannot physically carry babies in their body so they are factual not as important in terms of pregnancy. The law where men have little to no choice over what a woman does with a baby in her body is equitable, because we have to look at the who is dealing most with the most risk. Fgm isn't usually carried out on babies, its on children usually 8 and above. And its extremely painful and dangerous. I think it differs from circumcision in that you can be circumcised and live a normal life without pain you cant suffer fgm and go on to live a normal life.
