Wouldn't a better approach then be to encourage discipline among TRP true believers not to let their threads be derailed by moralizing BP'ers? A thread can only be derailed if these comments are responded to. Just downvote and move on, I say. I've always said evolutionary psych is the true lynch pin for understanding human behavior, though nowadays I would add an understanding of sociology in there, since as a highly social species, the individual cannot be understood outside of its social context. But yeah, it amazes me how many psych majors brush off evolutionary psych as just another branch of the field

I am not familiar with this particular instance, but yes, you see this across every industry and in every area of academia. The world is basically run how you see it in The Wire. The truth doesn't matter, just what is advantageous to the powers that be.
