This isn’t even fucking English. I put up with an ‘lol’ here and there but I see nothing but red flags in men who use more Internet slang than actual English. Chances are they spend most of the days on the Internet and social media. I won’t pay any attention to somebody who can’t be bothered to properly navigate the English language. What I did manage to decipher is pathetic.

Hey that’s not true. We also have a NO value men category. Who’s fact checking around here?!

Agreed. My ex and I did LDR while he was out of town - we spent the first three months of our relationship on the phone after meeting once. When he came home I got to REALLY meet him but already felt SO invested in the relationship. We skipped dating and went straight to what I call “movie, burger, backseat.” His behaviour didn’t match his words. Awful. You cannot get to know somebody thoroughly through distance.

Oof. Yeah. My NVM ex lied to me about giving my brother drugs, in our house. I was LIVID when I found out. Words canNOT explain how angry I was. … but it was MY fault he HAD to lie because I HATED drugs. He couldn’t tell me the truth because I’d get angry - and it was MY fault. That’s about the time I left.

2008! 🤚 my stepbrother’s best friend messaged me the other night. I literally grew up with the kid, he’s like a brother … who’s apparently had a crush on me since 2008. Blech.

Me too. I regret how I spent my early 20s. I wasn’t surprised at all to not hear from him. He was absolutely wildly attractive but if the connection isn’t there for me I just won’t, and it takes time to build that between two people. C’est la vie!

Yuuup. Had a guy ghost me recently after he tried to sleep with me after our second date and I politely told him no. SO relieved I dodged that bullet.

There was the ONE guy who was like, "Do what you want, but just know that nobody marries a girl who gives head on the first date, just sayin'," and all of the comments following that were like, "Shhhh don't tell her that, bro!" Ugh. Disgusting.

I can’t imagine first date sex. I saw a post awhile back where a girl was shocked her first date was shocked because she offered him a blowjob. She was like, “Isn’t this customary?” SO many guys in the comments saying they wish all first dates would do that … 🤢

Haaaahahahaha. Having a place of your own with no roommates is a firm standard for me. I had a guy ask me out once, to come over to his house to hang with him and his 6-7 roommates. He’s 35 years old. I noped so hard out of that realm of possibility. If you don’t have your shit together enough to have your own place you manage and take care of and pay for, the same way I do, I predict EASILY to be the one doing all of that in the future. No thank you.

I’ve started seeing interviews this way honestly. I just had one two days ago and my resume speaks for itself. I had more questions for them than they did for me. But at this stage in my life I’m pretty well like, “Why should I choose you?” ¯_(ツ)_/¯

WOW. I have IBS and my days are NOTHING like this. Why? I don’t drink, smoke, eat spicy/deep-fried/fatty foods, lactose, raw veggies or anything that triggers it. I keep trim and eat healthy. It’s easier to take care of your body. This poor woman is not only dealing with his immediate consequences but the host of health issues down the line by not eating properly and taking care of himself.

Yup. Had this happen recently. I can’t say looking back that there was much chemistry, but we went on a few dates and he seemed nice enough. We kissed a bit and I firmly told him I don’t sleep around unless I’m in a relationship and said goodnight. Haven’t heard from him since 🤷‍♀️ I’m glad I didn’t sleep with him.

I like being intimidating. It weeds out most people, they find you not worth the time or effort you take. Or it draws in the men who like to fetishize strong women but those are fairly easy to spot.

If they have to tell you they’re a nice guy, or they don’t put their hands on women, they’re trying to convince themselves the same narrative.

Any anchor tattoos on the face. This trend is awful. The meaning behind them is something along the lines of ‘being unsinkable’ and is really just a man trying to feel good about himself looking in the mirror. Face tattoos as a whole reflect bad decisions but the story behind the anchor to me denotes somebody who’s insecure about themselves and needs a constant reminder of their ‘strength’.

I did couples counselling last summer. Well. I went by myself initially and he ‘was going to come after a few sessions.’ He never did. After 5 sessions I finally ended it and my therapist applauded me. She read me her notes on him from what I’d said. She said - “Sweetie, the only thing wrong with you is that you let a man gaslight you into spending over $500 on therapy sessions. You know better.”

In kindergarten I had a boy who used to follow me to the cloakroom, hide me underneath winter jackets and strangle me. Violently. You know when boys hit girls and teachers tell them they have a crush on them? My teacher told me he had a crush on me. Finally my teacher noticed I wouldn’t go for recess or lunch because I was too afraid to go into the cloakroom and still nothing happened. I told my parents and I’ll never forget my mom storming in one day mid-lesson and standing in front of that boy…

This has nothing to do with Elon whatsoever, but the depravity of this guy - who happens to be Elon’s father - grooming a girl from the age of 4, after being her father figure and raising her.

Yeah. You are the people you associate with. I'll be a friend and lend a sympathetic ear to my friends, but it was a very one-sided friendship that never progressed on her end. I made the choice to cut her out and I'm grateful I did.

I don't anymore. It distracts me from my life and goals by taking the time out of my day to answer the phone to hear the same problems over and over again. I don't have patience. Recently my old close friend's boyfriend was all over the news. He had attempted to run over three women (yes, she was one of them), and then crushed a police car - with her truck. He has no license, no ID. There was a manhunt for him for weeks. While this was happening, she was calling our mutual friends trying to find…

It was the stupidest pickup line I’ve ever heard. My friends just laughed at the idiot and the next day I learned my reputation amongst our group is ‘the girl that won’t go home with you’ which was nice to find out.

Hahaha. I mentioned to my NVX once that in a previous relationship I’d saved enough to move out and be on my own. He looked at me and said, “Wow are you doing that to me right now?” I said very calmly, “No. Now I always make sure I don’t have to save up, and have enough in my bank account to leave whenever I want.” Came in handy a few months later 🙄 now I just won’t even bring it up.

I had to tell my own sister I couldn’t talk to her anymore. She’s 20, her guy is 31, and a total POS loser. She would call me up 3-5x a week crying, waiting outside the bar to pick up his drunk ass after she bought him a truck and he got it impounded drunk driving. Now she wants to have a kid with him. I just told her not to call anymore and best of luck.

Ahahahha. Oh man. My ex did this. I was such an idiot, I gave him an AU credit card on one of my lines. With a $2800 limit he racked it up to about $2500 every month. Had no fucking clue how credit worked and would refer to ‘his’ credit card as “I still have almost three grand.” The fuck you do mister. I had to time that breakup to make sure it got paid out, it was awful.

Thanks! I'm 31 this year, just celebrated a few weeks ago. 30 was definitely the best year of my life, until this one! I had a really good stepdad growing up, so that definitely makes up for it, but unfortunately he passed away four years ago. He was the one who was there in the emergencies growing up! So at least I had that.

He doesn't even have social media! Which is a big red flag to me. I've always found traditionally cheaters won't have a social media presence and well ... I have an illegitimate half-sister already 🙄 his poor wife. No, instead he'll victimize himself to our family, not take accountability or responsibility, and his mom will phone me up telling me how I'm ripping apart the family and how I should just forgive him because this is who he is ... yadda yadda. Same old story.

Not this per se, but if I get into a relationship with a HVM and he asks why he hasn't met my dad yet I have no problem disclosing that I cut ties with my dad because he wasn't living up to my expectations. My NVX told me when I left him that one of the things I said to him before we started dating was the 'biggest red flag' he'd ever heard of - I told him I have no problem walking away from things that aren't good for me.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/08/21 05:50 PM

I'm so sorry. I've definitely been fairly hot and cold with him these last few years, and it's been a long time coming. There's no excuse for not taking accountability for your actions and you don't owe anybody anything, even if they are related to you. God. My dad lives twenty minutes up the road from me and he doesn't even know my address.

My time is so valuable to me! The next time somebody wastes my time like that I should just send them a company invoice billing them for the time I spent getting ready 😂 His behaviour growing up is definitely one of the reasons I'm always on time. Yeah. He was building an observatory. He can remember it's supposed to rain the next day, or that his favorite hockey team is playing, but he can't remember my birthday? Haha. I remember my 19th birthday he forgot, and to make it up to me he financed a guitar in my name to build my credit and was supposed to make the payments ... three months in and my credit score is getting ruined, my mom ended up paying off that guitar. He's never apologized or acknowledged it.

I haven’t dealt with that bullshit in 6 years. The fastest way to get a man to leave you alone at the bar is to tell him you don’t drink. They realize they have nothing to offer you. I have had most men turn and just walk away without saying anything.

Heck. Yes. My solid girl friend and I go do stuff together like taking each other for dinner, celebrating our wins and boundaries, vetting prospective dates for another, celebrating career wins, discussing investments, making vision boards 👑 It’s a lot more relaxing than the friends I had who had zero career or life goals, echoing out “But I love him!!”

I’m turning 31 this summer and it’s hard. In my 20s I spent my life with musicians and just sort of scraped by and prioritized having fun. I moved away for 2 years and came back disappointed that nobody else had really grown up, whereas I launched my business, drove a brand new car, was adamant about my own space - building a better life for myself. I stopped answering those calls slowly. A lot of my friends were Pickmes. They still are - we’re just not friends. I can’t fucking stand to hear “Bu…

I recently split with my ex and had a good chat with a girl friend last night that made me feel pretty good about myself. She reminded me that I’m self-sufficient, independent, valuable, hot, and that anybody that couldn’t see and value me was a fucking idiot. I might get backlash but I don't agree with that. I certainly wouldn't want to pay for somebody else's debt - and there's that feeling of being 'owed'. I handle my debts, and expect somebody else to handle their own - no matter our financial situations. Anything that you incur before the relationship/marriage should be your responsibility. Would you pay for his $300K in loans just for him to turn around and potentially leave you someday? My ex was in bankruptcy. Well, he was supposed to be - he …

Awww! CONGRATULATIONS on your freedom!! I bought a lovely little kitten last month when we split up before (ugh, got suckered into taking him back because all of my stuff was at his house for a few weeks and we still had ties together). I intentionally bought a longhaired cat though as my buffer towards living with another man. Exactly. I spent long enough feeling like my needs were unworthy. I'm therapy now to discover what my needs are, and how to communicate them. Part of it is realizing that they are worthy which is difficult to do! I'm definitely still working on myself but I'm learning that asking for my basic emotional needs to be met needs to be the lowest bar to set. I'm not too much. This is so awful. I'm not interested in sharing finances with a man ever again. I was in the same situation a few years ago and earning about 1/3 of my ex's income, while paying for everything 50/50 AND paying for the groceries. I'm exceptionally good at budgeting, saving and investing and amassed a good savings account despite this. Which came in handy for leaving. It's these waves of what I imagine contractions would feel like, and it goes on endlessly. Biologically I am not built for big dick. Yeah I'm not waiting on a man for anything. I definitely overspent, but I also over-earn. I look down at my hand and I'm like, "I deserve this." And it's not even about the jewelry, but it's knowing that this is how I treat myself. 20 year old me probably would have rushed out to OLD after a breakup. My great aunt is one of the HVM I look up to. I couldn't stand her as a kid, but in the last 5-6 years we've become pretty much best friends. She never married. She told me she never found anybody worth her time. That she's had (and has!) a ton of boyfriends, but she never wanted to share her life. She focused on her career, ran a national attraction and sat in some pretty notable social circles her entire life. Never had children. I was molested by the neighbor when I was really young, 3-4ish. I didn't tell my folks until I was 7, and I remember my dad saying nothing. 3 years later that neighbor came to live with us (we'd moved about 1000km away) and that summer my mom decided I should go live with my dad. I was around him 24/7 with nowhere to go. I ended up hospitalized from severe anorexia, I was too nervous to eat. It was an experience I wouldn't wish on anybody. I have no idea how to trust men anymore.

I feel the total opposite way, I feel like they try super hard in the beginning and once they feel like they've 'got' you - everything goes out the window. Romance, caring, putting any emphasis on your needs. It's like the hard part's done and they can stop pretending to be who they aren't.
