I sincerely appreciate this insight, very honest and well written.

Hate to say it, but I was thinking the same.

This post blew up. Haha. OP, my fiancee (turning 25 next month) is still a virgin and she waited (I'm 27). I only slept with one person previously. I cherish her decision to wait and we are very excited to start that journey after we get our wedding planned after this virus blows over. Keep your standards! :)

"Chad" is a nickname that RP has given to men who only seek sex from women like in your first example.

Is there a deeper burning question that you're not asking? If you don't mind me asking, I mean all due respect... but is this a source of insecurity, or are you fearful about it?

Hi OP. If I may be honest, this post is quite all over the place. You first ask if the sexual revolution has benefitted men, then bring up points about questionable morals, sex quantity, and promiscuity. Then, suddenly, you are discussing traditional roles, monogamy, and state that guys have no choice but to accept all changes that have happened. You asked many, many deep questions, dear... and I'm not sure if you realized that. But I will try my best to answer as briefly and sweetly as I can. D…

If I may offer some encouragement... understand that behind every profile is a person. The right person for you will not lash out at you, ignore you, or disrespect you. You are deserving of that regardless. If I may offer one piece of advice, I would rephrase your "if you have something interesting to say, message me" to "Looking for someone who can hold a conversation" or "If you read my whole profile to the bottom here, message me about (insert interesting topic/icebreaker)." That way you know…

Trust me, I'm shocked my ears didn't burn off from how much I hated hearing it. But alas, here I am telling it to other people now. Honestly, it hurts... but the truth hurts! I encourage you to read some good "single woman" Christian publications and keep your heart in the right place... please don't let your heart get hardened and lose your smile. At face value, a prospective guy can see that visually in you.

Thank you very much! You are too kind. If you don't mind if I am straightforward and honest... I did go through a rough season where I questioned my faith and had literally no hope whatsoever that God would bring that person into my life. Quite frankly, I dropped my standards significantly when I allowed my ex into my life, and she was the one who pressured us to have sex relatively quickly. I gave in with little pushback despite my convictions, simply because I didn't care anymore. Seeing how t…

I sincerely appreciate your post. I admit that I have a religious bias (Christianity) which has a strong influence on my perspective and morality... but that is one of the only areas that I hear the term "purity" come up. My (27) fiancee (24) is a virgin (we are waiting until marriage) and I have slept with only one other person. After my last relationship ended, I made a promise to myself that I would be celibate until marriage again. I know some people disagree but in my opinion... I find it d…

OP... in combination with this post and the last... it breaks my heart to say this. If you are not already being cheated on at this very moment (high chance), you are being blatantly disrespected. I do not have even the slightest bit of sympathy for your "boyfriend." With all sincerity and respect to you, I do plead that you listen to nearly every person that has commented on both posts to you. Scheduling his "friend date" on Valentine's. REALLY?!? He asking her if she had feelings for him and h…

I would tread carefully. It takes a small amount of effort to type out those words and send them to you, whether he means them or not. I smell manipulation. Stick firmly to your standards and he'll leave soon again if you don't give him what he wants. He already admitted his intentions.

OP, as the top comment says... many men have their own reasons, but from many conversations, "fear" is typically the top reason. We are bombarded as a society from social media influence to ask, "What's in it for me?" When in reality, many successful marriages put the other person's needs before their own... would you agree? I lost my fear when I met my current girlfriend when she explained her perspectives on a realistic, honest view of what marriage looks like. Marriage will always be a risk, …

I promise you, he is not interested. Agreeing with a previous comment, it truly is "actions over words." Actions never lie! I find it funny how we can admire people from a distance, but once we actually get down to talking to them, we can get hit with disappointment. I believe every person is unique as an individual, and you'll never really know what you're going to get until you start getting to know them. If you try to speak to him again, tread very carefully. Give him a non-sexual opportunity…

To be honest, I think you may be overthinking it. And here's why: If he really, really likes you and wants to stay with you... he will respect your boundaries. You haven't even had sex with him yet! With all due respect to you, you are not "withholding" anything. You're just holding onto your standard and not having sex with someone you don't feel safe with. Also, this is just my opinion, but if he's not fully investing in you ONLY because of thoughts of sexual compatibility... I recommend you f…

In short, my first thought is why would you want to have sex with someone you do not feel emotionally safe with? You even said, "I don't want to increase my N count for nothing." Be honest... talk it out... work these insecurities out now versus later! It's still early (4 months), establish your boundaries and expectations now before it is too late.

I hate to phrase it this way... but what if this behavior never stops? Even if it works out... you guys start dating, turn into an LTR... and you still go weeks without any of his attention? Even if he does as you say and ends up making over six figures... would you rather have a guy who makes 60k and is much more available to you? Hahaha... I'm just trying to get you to really ask yourself what you really want! For myself, one of the ways a partner would make me feel secure in a relationship IS…

My immediate thought is only on one thing: You haven't seen him in TWO months! Oh my gosh. He may be super busy, but even for myself, if I couldn't see a significant other at least once a week, I'd be gone... especially this early on. It's really wonderful how much he has going for him, but it doesn't sound like he is going to make time for you. And if we are honest here, only making enough time for a few text messages here and there isn't really a time investment. I don't know how I feel the "p…

If I may take a moment to backtrack. You said: "He is aware that I won't have sex with him before commitment." I must compliment you for having your guard up and holding tightly to your standards. However, I would caution you from "assuming" certain things in scenarios like this. You assumed that he couldn't tell you an example means that all he thinks about is "wanting you for sex." In the end, you could be right, but you also could be wrong. I agree with a previous comment that without any dou…

A lot of people have already commented, but to briefly throw in my two cents as a male... I feel his decision to ignore you over something like this is pretty pathetic. I understand that he likely wants to get ahead in his career and sees an "opportunity" with this person in your circle... but clearly he views this opportunity more important than maintaining peace with you. This is also really bad in a "do we have a future together" perspective... what if he continues these behaviors whenever he…

I'm IT as well, and I gotta say one of the best managers I ever had was a woman. She led by example and would never tell someone to do something she wouldn't do herself. Don't be discouraged and keep up the hard work.

Thank you for your input. I can definitely see that fear and anger are the main source of energy for a lot of those folks... I will put that book on my wish list. Cognitive dissonance has definitely been an issue for the past few years in this area of life. Thank you.

No, I'm not angry at all to hear it. I acknowledge that it's true. Your explanation is likely the simplest and easiest to understand, and feels like "This is how things are, kiddo." Haha. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and advice.

Thank you so much for the encouraging words, and I am truly sorry that happened to you. I don't know, I just feel like I can't sit idly by and choose the easy road. It's easier to cross your arms, put up an emotional wall, and stay closed-minded. It's much more difficult to be patient and understanding of others.... but your words inspire me to keep going. I will continue to challenge my beliefs because I know it's the right thing to do.

For sure, it makes sense. I understand that my circumstances are not unique, and it's only fair to make those comparisons. With all that being said, I'm still trying to do what I can instead of fall prey to a victim mentality and side with a lot of redpillers that channel it into hate and aggression. I don't want to end up sad, miserable, and alone like I'm sure a bunch of them will.

I think you're right, looking back I think I made a blanket statement. I should have not even included the word "feminist." Apologies.

Understandable, and I think the concept of divorce rape and various other fear-based scenarios are completely logical. I believe being logical and kind should always go together, but I feel like the odds of me finding someone compatible with me that agrees are pretty small. From what it seems like, you'll meet nine feminists women who disrespect or belittle men for every one woman who does not. I don't fear women, I fear getting used or manipulated again.

Thank you for your time and response, and I deem your whole comment as valid advice. I find it funny that most people spend their whole lives trying to "figure themselves out." And just because we are grown adults doesn't mean that we can't discover something new about ourselves every day. Your words and experiences definitely make me feel a lot less alone than before. I suppose being pessimistic with a more honest view of women and the world is better than being brainwashed.

It gets a bit annoying to hear "You were born in the wrong generation" when I discuss my priorities on relational integrity, monogamy, and keep social media away at a healthy distance. I feel you.
