It's times like this you wonder why you got together with them in the first place, am I right? As others have said, she's probably been doing it for a while already. Just keep your dignity and move on because that will annoy her more than anything. The best revenge is to live well!

It wasn't when she admitted being unfaithful. It was when I realised she was trying to break up his marriage as well. He had two young boys who were innocent in this and she was trying to ruin their family as well as our own. After that it was like switching off a light. I had no idea who she was anymore. I've never looked back.

And don't forget that many of the male friends you had were linked to the relationship and now the wives all support your ex - despite her conduct - so the guys disappear. Outside of the US, guys don't go to support groups or friend meets etc. All I can say is I still have kids contact, a new partner and a pet and some hobbies and you make the best of the cards you are dealt.

I find it doesn't go down well to mention infidelity. I think this is because a lot of people get together because of infidelity these days.

It's sucks, I know. Have a podcast on, or the radio. Something that has people speaking, not Spotify music. Put on comedy to make you laugh. I got a dog for my kids and honestly haven't felt too lonely ever since.

That's really sad to read. Try to fill your daughter's life with some love. Not easy when they are teens and the last person they want to speak to is their parents, something I know all too well.

We don't have pre nups in the UK so I'd only consider it if the other person was a financial equal at least so if the worst happened we both could just walk away

Best of luck friend. It's not an easy path ahead but break it down to one step at a time. Get some therapy help and rebuild the core of yourself stronger. What happened with your parents wasn't your fault. That's a start.

Sometimes the best thing is to let go of a bad relationship and build a new stronger life. But you can only get that stronger life when you've built yourself stronger. Get help, fight back against the woe and find some happiness, friend. Excuse my amateur psychology but it seems you want this relationship to heal what happened with your parents and now she's going it's like you're experiencing it all over again. Get some help to deal with your past and build yourself stronger 💪

I set up a new Facebook profile and kept the old one with baby photos etc for my family. You also don't want potential new girlfriends scanning your social media for old photos of your ex 😆

It's best to have everything in writing. They can't gaslight you into saying they did or didn't say something when it's down in black and white in a dated email.

Yeah definitely. My lawyer got p!ssed at me because the ex and I were being too amicable she wasn't making enough money out of the divorce.

Stay mentally tough bro. There's a long path ahead. I stayed put in the family home and I'm still sitting in it right now 8 years later. If she wants out of the family and marriage then she can go.

Yeah I hear you. This matters because this is the path she has chosen to expose the kids to rather than keep her family together. My former wife started dating a guy who lived in a motorhome and would literally pull into side streets just to sleep for the night. I've been with a new partner for 5 years, whereas she's gone through a succession of pretty hopeless relationships that never last. This isn't to judge people from different walks of life. You can't help but think "why did you do this to…

You're gonna need to stand up to her and tell her that's not acceptable mate. She'll respect you for it. It's plain bullying and bullies like an easy target, so don't be one. If she doesn't like it then you deserve better.

Do some guys flee the home because they'd rather be away from having to bring up the kids? I totally agree with you. You see it on TV shows where the guy just automatically moves out. Why? I didn't move an inch and I'm sitting in the family home right now and it's 100% in my name.

I've had to deal with some Christmases away from my kids and girlfriend. I've changed my perspective of Christmas to help deal with this. I think of Christmas as the whole month rather than just a few hours on that day. So everything you do across the month eg getting together with your kids and doing fun things, meeting up with friends, even work drinks. It all goes into the Christmas experience in December. That's helped me.

I know exactly what you mean, but also it sounds like you're doing really well for those moments in the house where it's quiet. I always kept the radio going or a podcast so you can hear voices and the the feeling of chatter around the house. Keeping mentally positive is always important. Finding a new partner also can help 🙂

They have to be sleeping together if they're exchanging nudes and see each other most days through work.

Even if they don't want to be with you, women hate the idea that you've moved on from them. I purposely never, ever rub my ex's face in it just to avoid the drama, even though she did that to me on our former wedding anniversary. Happiness is the best form of revenge 😁

My 2p from plenty of post divorce dating. Go for a countryside type girl rather than a city girl. Countryside type girls are a bit softer and more traditional with good values. Last thing you want is a date with a city girl listening to her discuss the patriarchy while she expects you to pay for dinner. If they have kids they expect you to make room for their kids but have no interest in yours. They just want someone to lighten their load. Best to go for ladies without kids. 38 is a tricky age t…

Get a pet 🐕 It can really help having something to focus on and you receive much love.

Yeah this is really interesting because divorce is meant to be very common but I know hardly anyone who is also divorced. Since my divorce I've just had different girlfriends and had a lot of good times that way.

Stay strong bro. Things get easier as you adjust. Having a pet can help with that family unit need. I got a dog for my kids and he's great to have around when the kids are away.

I'm from the UK so I don't know if people are a bit more rude here. One example, we were out by the seaside and my kids who were small at the time were laughing and talking and a typical karen told us to keep the noise down. Another more extreme example is my car keys and phone got wet at the beach and therefore I couldn't start the car or call for help. We were parked next to a restaurant and I asked the owner if I could use his phone to call for help (the plan was to eat at the restaurant whil…

I have been bringing up my 3 kids alone for 7+ years . (50%) I've got a long term partner but we don't live together. It's definitely hard and there's no one to even make you a cup of tea/coffee when you've had a bad day. Going through covid lockdown was especially tough. But you find ways to cope. I've had some brilliant times with the kids on holidays without a moody ex hanging around spoiling it. I make sure I do something nice on the time when the kids aren't around to try and turn the absen…
