The victims father, Mark Creighton, allegedly knew his son was in a "sexual relationship" with Clifton-Carmack. He purportedly said they "are going to do it behind my back, so I may as well let it happen," according to prosecutors. He is also facing felony charges for condoning the alleged illicit relationship but Hillman told PEOPLE his case is "on hold" until the teacher is sentenced "as he has agreed to assist the State and testify if needed". One, that's pretty fucked up. He should have repo…

Thanks for the kind words. There's no reason stuff like this shouldn't start from the beginning. She showed up at my apartment in back in our college days with a hammer that had a bow on it saying "I wanted to get you something like flowers but for dudes." I think it was like our 3rd or 4th date we went on. Still have it, along with many other hammers and flashlights she's bought me through the years. She's just always been that kind of person.

44/man here. Married 23 years. My wife spoils me and treats me right. She brings me home fun treats if she's out somewhere and is in a position to do so. She volunteers to sit on the couch and read a book while I watch some random scifi/action movie that she wouldn't be interested in. She takes me to my favorite restaurant that she is not the biggest fan of, as a thank you "manly things" I do around our home. And when she does, it's just a "are you ready for lunch? How about we go to XXX?" Our r…

Some academics and lay people have suggested that the goal of pornography is to... Ending that sentence with anything other than "make money" is just being disingenuous. You want to debate what types of porn target which demographics and why? Sure, knock yourself out. But don't fool yourself. Every one involved in the mainstream industry is there for the money. All the way around.

I had not seen the edit, but I went back and read his story. That just sounds awful. I wouldn't wish something like that on my worst enemy. And agreed - I can't imagine dealing with something like this pre-modern medicine. But as you said, with modern medicine is it something that's necessary? Women get all kinds of yeast infections, etc dealing with their organs. I can't imagine that anyone would consider it anything other than genital mutilation if someone discovered a surgery that could be do…

And personally as an adult, I do not want anyone doing any operations on my sexual organ, even if I knew it would be for the best. But if I was told I would never remember the operation happening and all would be fine, I would consider it then. Weird thought I know. That's really the crux of this argument when it comes down to it, I think. I don't personally have any issues from having been circumcised as a child. But don't fucking come near me now. lol It's difficult to reconcile. It's crazy th…

After a quick internal assessment of that information (which I thank you for providing) I have formulated the following response to this line of potential justification: Kids don't have and/or shouldn't be having sex. And when someone is an adult, if they decided that the decreased risk of and STI is worth such a procedure then they could have it done. :)

In all honesty, I'm 43 years old and I didn't give it a second thought until I watched The Red Pill. Personally, for my own existence I don't know any difference nor am I aware of any personal shortcomings or loss of sensation. But for male children moving forward, I have to wonder why this barbaric practice is still happening? Like, what's the actual advantage here? There seem to be sooooo many mishaps. I've yet to hear a reason to risk it other than some weird concept of "tradition."

Just wondering if there was any proof of innocence though. That's not how any of this works. The burden of proof is on the state, not the defendant. I don't have to prove I didn't do something. You can't always prove a negative. That's why the burden is to prove that someone did do something. It's the entire basis of "innocent until proven guilty", which is supposed to be the cornerstone of our legal system.

they basically just stopped complaining about it around me. lol I guess it really all depends on your environment and job as for whether women should be coming up to meet you or you going down to them. (in terms of professional dress) I'm in IT. I do so much field work now that no one gives a damn what I'm wearing. And I mean outdoor field work, not just visiting remote sites to fix stuff. I'm under buildings, in overhead spaces, etc.

I worked a job where a bunch of women were complaining about the restrictions on sandles vs flip flops, etc. I was required to wear a tie. I told them, you realize that as a man required to wear a tie I'm basically only allowed to let air get to my head and hands? Since there's no such thing as a "short sleeve dress shirt" I was basically looking at a very puritanical wardrobe. Women have pretty versatile options when it comes to work clothes....

Men's dress codes for business attire are basically puritanical at this point. Think about it - if a tie is required, you can basically only see a man's head and hands. I've been told my whole life that "there's no such thing as a short sleeve dress shirt unless you're a 1960's NASA engineer" So - shoes, socks, pants, underwear, undershirt, long sleeve shirt, tie. "Fuck you Karen, I'm hot - turn down the damned A/C."

I don't know what state you're in, our what the culture is like on your campus, or even what your relationship with your campus administration is, but my experience working in education leads me to the following: Start with your assistant principal/principal (depending on your comfort level with each). Go them and express your observation of the problem. Particularly the gas-lighting. That's inappropriate. If they have concerns about you, they should be bringing them to the campus administration…

If they make more from pregnancies then they would stop making female contraceptives, too, then. Well, I was actually positing the idea that they would make more from pregnancies than from JUST male birth control. If it's true that the research has already been done and they don't have a patent on it, they would be limited in profit to charging what their competitors do. If you look at it logically, men will buy these pills all the time - recurring revenue, because you never know when you might …

But what if that company stands to make more from pregnancies than they do from male contraception? What if making the pill is so cheap there's little to no profit in it and it just makes them lose revenue on the pregnancy side of the equation? I agree that a company will ALWAYS do what will make them money. I just think there are other factors at play than straight sales on one product.

Weiner is guilty, but that doesn't change the fact that this is an issue and shows the heavy bias of the judicial system. The issue only exist when the story is a woman getting a light sentence. Talking shit when a man get's what he deserves only makes you look like an asshole defending a predator.

The fact you pointed out 'but this isn't a woman' says A LOT about why we are in the mess we are in. Men aren't cared out, when they get screwed by the system. My statement about 'this isn't a woman' was in rebuttal to you making this a comparison about what a woman might get. I'm well aware of the biases in the system. I actively participate in this sub. Wait, are we trying to defend this piece of shit? Because I'm not on board with that. There's nothing about this guy that screams "victim of being male." If a lawyer didn't think it was likely, then you'd probably spend more time spinning your wheels than making progress. I'd say you could always sue the mother, but chances are she's not the one that fingered you specifically. Which means a court may not find her liable. You're correct in that hiring another lawyer would just add to your cost and possible just put you farther in the hole with no return. The process is messed up. Couple of things - Bravo for having your 'eureka' moment. People think men are ridiculous when we say we're actually discriminated against for being 'white males' so it's nice to see that validation in the wild. Most of the women that I know who have had the thoughts you do, are in a relationship with a guy who has either been a target or (because of his position, like a teacher) has the potential to be a target. Let's skip over the obvious sexist affirmative action this represents. Let's look at the far more reaching implications of a law like this. If a governmental body can dictate the demographics of your company, what's next? Salaries? Prices? I've seen story after story of people complaining about their not being enough women in this industry or that, and the mythical wage gap. But this. This is government overreach at its worst. The implications of this type of legislation is bigger than 'Mens Rig…

That is an extremely valid point. People cow-towing to these kinds of accusations is what gives these groups power. What ever happened to common sense? What happened to people saying things like "don't you think that's a little out there?" or "I think you're making a much bigger deal out of this than it is." how about this for an apology: "I'm sorry that whatever happened in your life led you to the point that you feel you need to make a big deal out of my shirt."

Oh SNAP! Shot's fired! Anyway, yeah - what a load of bullshit. Hadn't heard about this story but I just looked it up. If his boss didn't care he was wearing it, then neither should you. I'm not going to try to defend the shirt. Not cause I think it's tacky or anything, but it's just not necessary. It's a shirt. It didn't depict any horrific atrocities. You're right. I said in another comment that "if it was your 14 year old daughter and some 30 year old guy - you want that guy hanging from a flagpole somewhere." Take for example the sexual assault in the news right now. The one where the judge was removed for going easy on the guy. This is waaaaay worse that than trial. That comment reeks of immaturity. (not yours, his) If it was a man in this article, it likely wouldn't have been posted to this sub and this conversation wouldn't be happening. I'm not making a justification. I clearly stated that I wouldn't want a man to get off this easy either. However, this article did what others have not. Which is to list reasons behind the plea deal. Yeah. Like I said, I don't think the sentence is harsh enough. Having been through a situation like this with members of my own family, the minimum 20 years sentence (assuming good behavior) isn't enough for me. Being on probation can be a bitch. It's likely that she'll screw that up. Her life will be so difficult between probation and the sex offender list that she'd wished for jail time.

No. I'm saying that by making a plea deal, it didn't go to trial. Which means that the kid doesn't have to testify. I've been through something like this with members of my family. It was a very painful, long and drawn out ordeal. And that was with a plea deal. It can be very hard on the victims.

Before things get rolling - I think the article includes an important part of the plea deal: Thursday's plea deal not only spares Milan a jail term as long as she stays out of trouble but also shields the boy from testifying in a public courtroom, a factor cited in court for the agreement. I not gonna say "a man would never get off this easy" because I wouldn't want him to. Obviously, there are going to be situations where a victim's report may point to an individual that ends up not being involved. Sadly, if there is enough evidence to confirm that someone was in fact assaulted in some way the best a person can hope for is being publicly exonerated while the guilty party continues to be looked for. In cases where the media has gotten a hold of a story and names, I think it would go a long way for there to be as much fan fare made announcing someone's innocence as …
