I don’t feel like I was distant at all. I usually wait for men to break the touch barrier first though and then once they do I will give light touches here and there while we’re talking but he just didn’t seem to do that. Not sure what to think. He seemed very interested aside from that and the date was like 7 hours long...but clearly something didn’t work for him because I still haven’t heard a peep.

Thanks for answering! I think I should’ve phrased it a little differently. I meant more for sending the follow up text for dates 1-3. My girlfriends are telling me to text this guy since he hasn’t reached out after our second date but I feel like if he were interested he’d be pursuing more and I don’t want him to be replying out of convenience if he’s really not all that interested.

Just curious...what are your thoughts about who should text first after the first few dates? Should it always be the guy? When do you think it’s appropriate to start reaching out first? I hear so many conflicting responses to this. I definitely don’t want to be the one chasing or pushing the fledgling relationship forward and I’d like to kind of lean back and see if the guy is interested enough to pursue but I also don’t want to come across as uninterested.

I totally agree. Your profile should be highlighting things about YOU not what you don’t want in someone else. It is off putting for sure!

Yesss! All good points. Thanks for answering! I feel like I’m already following all of your 6 rules you listed...except maybe the last one. I feel like the most common first “date” for me has been just a go out and grab drinks thing...I’m definitely starting to pay way more attention to how much effort a guy puts in though.

I just joined this sub and I’m so happy to have found it! Unfortunately, I’ve definitely done my fair share of settling for low value men in the past and wasted a lot of prime dating years in doing so. Even before finding this sub, though, I’ve noticed a huge shift in my mentality. I’ve stopped caring as much when a guy isn’t living up to my expectations, and just nexting him and moving on. I recently turned 30, and while I definitely thought I would’ve found someone by now, I’m honestly ok with…

As a total noob here, what would you say are the biggest indicators of a lvm when swiping? Trying my best to avoid these types in the future.

Yes, I’ve seen a fair amount of this. It seems like virtue-signaling to me. “Hey look! I’m a good person! I wear a mask when I’m out!”

Honestly reading this just made me feel pretty good. I have pretty small boobs and this kind of post would’ve 100% made me feel like crap had I read it when I was younger and insecure about my chest, but I’ve come such a long way since then and I’ve only recently started to realize just how much progress I’ve made. I feel really good! I may not have perfect giant boobs, and sure one may be just a touch bigger than the other, but hey I’ve still got a bangin bod! Boob guys may be disappointed but …

It feels hard because it IS hard. You’re human and you formed a bond with someone. It’s going to be hard even if you recognize it’s not the right fit. You just need to look towards the long term benefits rather than focusing on the very short term pain of breaking up. If he truly is low value, you’ll soon forget all about him! Neeeeext!

Seriously!! I’ve come across my ex-boyfriends dating app profile a couple times and he’s using a photo I took of him and my parent’s dog. I was angry at first but now I just find it pathetic...and what will he tell the girls who ask if it’s his dog? Haha he clearly didn’t think this through!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
