So you are using some weird insider definition of "cooking for someone" which doesn't include the act of preparing food and sharing it with someone else?

Young, i.e. children... I don't think anyone is being irrevocably scarred

Oh no, a child might have seen a nipple, the horror! What's their biological function again?

If there's ever any question at all, you're doing it wrong. I can sympathize with the notion that a woman might have regrets afterwards and change her story, but she should have to lie substantially about what actually took place for this to gain any traction. It's so hard to prove what actually happened for either party, and it's very difficult to balance "innocent until proven guilty" against "believe her." But that's not really what the post is about. It's about whether coercion or taking adv…

I think it's an incredible stretch to call that "rape." It's a shitty thing to do, but it's pretty common to try to paint yourself in a favorable light during courtship. What if I lie and say I'm the lead guitarist in my band when really I'm the bassist? Is that rape? Because nobody ever wants to get with the bassist 😢

This seems like common sense in any context - why would you want to have sex with someone who didn't express that they wanted to unless you're a rapist? It's not so much about gathering evidence as it is about making sure you're on the same page about what you both want.

I don't think the genders are really relevant for the worm question even though it's usually framed as a woman asking her male partner. I'm not interested in the subtext, I think the literal interpretation is far more instructive than asking "will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful." It's a question about what it means to love someone. I believe that it's more than simply valuing their attributes: looks, personality, and shared interests can all initially draw you towards s…

Oh I'm well aware. But it does not follow from that that people without partners or family members are more likely to be abused.

I disagree that being with anyone increases your risk of abuse. People with limited social support are MUCH more vulnerable to abuse.

If your partner was actually turned into a worm you'd stop loving them? I mean it might be a hinderance to the further development of our relationship, but I'd probably take care of the worm and try to give it its best life. Maybe check the yellow pages for a professional magician or mad scientist who could change her back? It's like that scene in O Brother Where Art Thou where they think Pete got turned into a toad - they don't just abandon him, they carry him around in a box in case he changes…

In every instance of the original question I've seen it's just "a man," with no qualifiers. That's what makes it so ludicrous to choose the bear. If you start introducing explicit malicious intent the question becomes meaningless.

I find the idea of having an "ideal" for a partner pretty depressing - just accept people as they are, and if you love them then stay together. Dating isn't car shopping.

Yes, and apparently that "type" needs to be defined based on race/physical appearance. I'm not sure I buy the idea that people have "types," but even if they did I would think personality traits would be more of a factor than looks.

Two women have crashed my car, so I'd have to go with the bear because obviously all women are bad drivers based on my lived experience. /s

If my budget was $5000, I'd rather plan something we could both do for that much than something for just myself. Not sure what marriage has to do with any of this.

I'm sorry but this has become ridiculous - she can go to Hawaii for two weeks but he can't go to the bar? What?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/24 06:55 PM

I dunno, if I love someone enough to be in a relationship with them then spending time with them is infinitely more valuable than any vacation, especially a vacation spent alone. Then again I'd never date someone who'd rather go on a packaged vacation in Hawaii than backpacking in southeast Asia or motorcycle touring in South America. I dated a woman for like 4 years, never knew she was rich until one day she just dropped $60,000 on a boat she wanted.

This is pretty messed up regardless of the genders involved - If I could afford it I'd certainly pay for my partner to come along, if not I'd plan a less expensive trip that we could do together (whether I'm paying for all of it or it's just cheap enough that we can split it). If I were in the man's shoes in your scenario I'd be devastated. I'd be wondering why she wants to pay a huge amount of money to be away from me. When I'm in a relationship, I only feel really "at peace" when I'm with that…

This is interesting - it's pretty normal to me, not because they're trying to figure out my income but just to get a sense of what my life is like, or even just have something to chat about. It's useful to know someone's career so you can direct the conversation. Like if they're a mechanical engineer I might chat about how the autopilot on my sailboat broke, or if they're an attorney I might tell them about that time I was on a jury, or if they're a cop I might unmatch immediately. It shouldn't …

Yeah, I think the "at least" part is important there. Just make the date fun, and if it doesn't work out you still had fun. But don't lead anyone on, it's not even practice if you have your walls up from step one. Guys with less experience get way too emotionally invested from the start and that can be very off putting. Relationships are like real ships, if there's too much weight on one side they get unstable. You have to load the containers of emotional attachment carefully and evenly or else …

This is great information which should frankly be part of the public school curriculum nationwide. Wrapping it up is so important ESPECIALLY if there's a dog in the house. It could be really unfortunate if her dog decides to eat it the second time you hook up and you really like her but now she's concerned about the dog and it's kinda awkward for three days until the dog shits it out... I would imagine.

Is Lands Between one of those high-end fashion boutiques? And Alexander is a helpful sales associate? Will the clay pot clash with the $10,000 Rolex that Andrew Tate told me to buy to signify that I'm a high value man?

Yeah I've also had a lot of close friends move away and I haven't put in the effort to find new ones. It's still worth dating, I think it's inherently fun even if it doesn't lead to a serious relationship. Never be afraid of being dumped by someone you don't even know yet, that's paralyzing.

Those are great personal goals, but a prospective partner will not care about 20k in the bank - many many many guys you see spending lavishly are doing it all on credit. Achieving your goals will give you confidence, which is what really matters.

Loneliness is like poverty - getting money or having a relationship won't make you happy, but failing to do so will certainly make you miserable. Women get frustrated because a lot of men don't have many close friends, and are much less emotionally open with those they have. They end up as the primary emotional outlet for their partners and this can be exhausting. This is kind of inevitable in my opinion but men should be mindful of it. I think this is why a lot of women think all men should be …

It's important to acknowledge that fear of physical violence is not on the same level as fear of social shaming, even though both are damaging. The problem with the original post is that it perpetuates the narrative that men as a class are responsible for the behavior of assholes. It doesn't serve our cause well to get defensive. I'd try replacing gender with race and see what comes out: "Hey Blacks, remember that Whites modify their lives to account for your behavior," doesn't exactly belong an…

This is bad for the environment & your septic system - just squeeze the cum into the toilet and leave it in the fridge like a normal person. Or let her dog eat it... I did this by accident once, it was scary but the dog was fine!

A lot of women I know are concerned about being "too muscular," i.e. having any visible muscle tone at all. I think muscles look good on pretty much everyone. I also find it really attractive when women stand up for their friends, for example if they're getting unwanted attention from a drunk guy or someone's trying to start something.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 09:10 PM

I'm not sure you're correct about the skinny waist thing, in pre-modern times most cultures have idealized a slightly more voluptuous form as the pinnacle of feminine attractiveness. I don't mean fat by any means, but not like model skinny either.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 05:46 AM

Your last point is exactly what I was going to add, it's a really fine line to walk. When someone I care about is being emotionally available to me, I kind of automatically go into amateur therapist mode because I want to help them process whatever they're going through. I'd like my partner to do the same for me. Obviously a real therapist is better for serious/ongoing problems. Partners should do emotional work for each other, it just shouldn't fall disproportionately on the women! But some wom…
