I’ve been sporadically attending NA meetings for a few months here, and will be headed into an inpatient rehab program here in a bit (as I simply don’t have the will to stop on my own). Been on and off various substances for about 10 years now, and I need to spend some time sober — My emotional development and coping skills have been stunted as a result of having chemical safety blankets. Congrats on taking steps, man. The hardest part is getting to admit it. PM me if you’d like to talk

My relationship with my mother was, eh, strained. She recently died (which coincided with my recent breakup), so I've been starting to unearth a lot of the details about the relationship. In truth, I don't miss her much. My main tension with her was that she was intrusive, and didn't quite understand my boundaries and need for space. The few times I asserted those boundaries, I was met with emotional responses that made me feel like I was being a shitty son. She also focused on giving me materia…

Indeed -- It provides me with value and purpose. However, I'm generally turned off by the (unnecessary...IMO) emotional labor that's been involved with the "saving" process. And getting drained by that process usually leaves me feeling like the asshole when I finally called it quits.

I think the main common factor tends to be girls who have damage from poor self esteem, parents and ex lovers. My longer term relationships were with women who I respected because of “what they’ve been through”. I found myself almost envying their trauma/pain, as it seemed to have made them more emotionally complex/competent/resilient, I don’t know... Additionally, I have to agree somewhat with Naz-One below. Their damage put me in a position of superiority — Where I could feel safe with them de…

My mother definitely influenced and controlled me too much -- And, looking back, probably had a lot of Cluster B tendencies. Grandmother is crazy too. Fortunately, my dad and grandpa were old-school Euro men who taught me the values of hunting and craftsmanship/DIY, so I wasn't fully ruined. My mother died recently, and while I feel ashamed to admit it, it's probably more of a good thing for my overall development as a man. Her death correlated nicely with dropping my Cluster B, feminist, "stron…

That’s the part that irritates me. I had an ex (cluster b, feminist) and all of her friends seemed to have some sort of mental issue. She would praise their respective boyfriends, “Oh she’s so lucky she found him — He puts up with her crazy”. And I was left wondering, “Is that what ‘good guys’ do? Lovingly tolerate their girl’s ‘crazy’? I need to do a better job then.” Nope. Nope the fuck outta there. While I can understand that everyone has some damage from trying to navigate today’s sick socie…

There are so many red flags here it might as well be a Chinese Communist rally... Joking aside -- I am also the type to get attached quickly with people I am intimate with. It has happened more times than I can count with women who I logically knew were bad for me, and ones who were unable/unwilling to reciprocate my feelings. It spells trouble every time. Additionally, I used to room with a girl who I highly suspect was escorting. She only worked as a bartender 2 nights a week, but somehow mana…

Building networks from scratch is something even I struggle with. I consider myself a "social introvert"...It basically means I have stronger needs for social connection than the classic introvert, but that the amount of energy I have for being social is still limited. I also have a touch of social anxiety (probably no worse than your average person though). I've tried many approaches to expanding my circle. When I was younger, I aggressively went to meet-ups for a period of time, spent a good b…

Those are some great points! It seems that every LTR I've been in, I've either slacked on my career progress to spend more time in the lovey-dovey world of my SO, or they've taken exception to how much time I spend working on it. Similarly, every time I've left an LTR, I come out the other side with significantly fewer social contacts -- Currently in the process of rebuilding my network as we speak...It's never easy

It's strange to me that so many women are finally seeing how bad of a deal marriage is for men -- But somehow they still shame us or guilt us for "being scared" of those potential occurrences. I don't think male-female relationships can be resolved until the institution of marriage starts to be widely rejected, or at least majorly overhauled.

I found it pretty funny that Bekah’s partner said something to the effect of “She’s a witch...tee her...I think she put a spell on me” No dude, she’s a crazy bones who thinks she’s a witch and you’re just attracted to emotional damage (this coming from a guy who’s drawn to crazies like a magnet)

Political power, as most halfway-intelligent people have realized by now, does not rest in the hands of the "leaders", be they male or female. That power belongs to corporations, and the consumers that support them.

Women who use men to their advantage are obviously not as smart as the rest of us and don't deserve a good partner, or any partner, until they figure their shit out. 2 things I'd like to point out here: People who take advantage of others for their own benefit are often SMARTER than their victims -- They've learned how the "system" works and have the emotional/intellectual capability to exploit it. "Women who use men to their advantage" Where does that line get drawn, regarding what is "taking a…

For me, it isn't even necessarily a question of risking BIG problems (divorce-rape, false accusations, never seeing your children, etc), but of the everyday issues as well: Constant need for attention (and often validation) Mild emotional manipulations (e.g. subtle guilt trips...there has not been a woman I've been close with that doesn't do this, from my grandmother all the way down to my little niece) Inability to be content, thereby causing drama Thirst for drama to bring interest into life T…

What I find quite interesting is that a good amount of women I've talked to IRL (friends), as well as online (mostly through MGTOW sources), have said something to the effect of: "Women are out of control these days -- I don't know how you put up with that shit" or "I get why you wouldn't want to be in a relationship. There's not a whole lot to gain as a man" or "Haha ya we're all crazy LOLs -- Guess you have to deal with it :)" So I'd like to pose the question to you, as a member of the female …

Sure. We dated a little under 3 years, from age 27-30 (both of us same age). Started dating right around the time I was recovering from a heavy bout of depression (caused by a series of manipulative and alpha-widow relationships). I was sober, and had my life together, I thought it was meant to be. We were supposed to get married the following year (something we’d agreed to), but she attempted to push it up a year right around the time my mother died. I lost my mom to cancer shortly before the b…

Wow that sounds like a wild ride. Yeah, mine never really had the opportunity to monkey branch. But it did seem like she had one foot out the door -- I think she may have seen the breakup coming and egged it on. I'll never know... If you ever need to talk about it feel free to PM me. It's difficult to process all the emotions surrounding it, and I'm still recovering from my ordeal.

Love that one. Many of my cannabis-driven meditation sessions lead to me to contemplation of the question: "Are we the agent driving our life, or are we watching our own life unfold, just cruising along as the Experiencer?" The strange notion I've come to espouse is that IT'S BOTH, at the same time (or at least occurring in some sort of oscillation). Mind fucks....

What sort of outbreaks were these? Mine used to get into emotional fits so intense she was shaking in my arms...It left me speechless, as it was so alien to me. Which made her angrier -- "SAY SOMETHING!" -- So I would do my best, from the most compassionate place I had. And most of the time it would anger her more for not saying the right thing. A good amount of times, she would come out of that state briefly to explain to me "how to take care of her". She lauded about how "patient" she was bein…

I was living with it just fine for many years. Until marriage started getting pushed...somehow the prospect of a lifetime of that and the potential effects of post-partum/menopause on that emotional wreckage set off my fight/flight response. Also we were down to once-a-week or less sex. And at 2 1/2 years in, thats never a good sign.

Glad to see I’m not the only one... Not to hate on Rollo. He’s a great writer and the fact that he disseminated red pull ideas so publicly grants him respect in my mind. But I see him as a Einstein character: He put for some revolutionary truths, but it isn’t the end of the story. MGTOW is our Steven Hawking response!

I’m definitely a “fixer”. A solid pattern I’ve noticed with most women I’ve been with in my 20s. My guess is that it was the result of my mom crying to me about how my dad was “terrible” to her, and then her parents joining in on the bashing. I swore to “never be like him”, and I got this shit show 🤣. Well... I won’t be like him... I’ll GMOW!

Took my old Blue Pill self a while to finally learn. I read countless articles like these and books to try and figure out how to “do it right”. Fuck that shit. I realized that this was a non-stop attention seeking and control ploy. Shriveled my dick right up. She pulled one of these stunts at my moms funeral for God’s sake! That’s when I kicked her to the curb
