IMO texting this guy about “implantation symptoms” is going to be a huge red flag to any man, especially one that you don’t actively have a relationship with, like it or not. It almost sounds like you were looking for a reason to escalate the “what do you want out of this” talk which if not approached when the man is invested in you will lead to poor results. Here you’d given him no reason to be invested yet. That happens over time when you demonstrate the characteristics of a woman who is emoti…

Yes, this is the answer. I like to think of it as: if our love is a lawn, and weeds are resentments and negativity, then sex is the ultimate weed killer and fertilizer both! The other thing to keep in mind is that a lot of women, including myself, have "responsive desire" meaning that you might not feel like you're "in the mood" in the beginning but once you start, because you're being desired, it awakens your own desire and then you're both off to the races.

When you say mental illness, what kind of mental illness are you talking about? Are we talking about some kind of cluster B disorder like borderline, histrionic or bi-polar? Or is it something else entirely. Also, you haven't given any ages, the age of everyone, especially, mom is extremely relevant here when we are looking at a long term type of thing. I'm probably going to get downvoted here, but depending on the type of mental illness she has, this may be a recipe for absolute disaster and …

I know this is going to sound wierd, but when I discovered that you had to use two light coats of nailpolish to get a an even, pretty manicure, I was incensed that my mother had never shared this bit of wisdom. I also wish that she'd talked to me a little more about what to look for in a man and about red flags. I feel like the time to talk to a girl about this is WELL before actual dating age because by that time, a girl is as likely to take your advice as she is to run off to a nunnery. As a r…

lol i came here to say that at some point you've got to take responsibility and become the rudder to your own ship, but it looks like teh rest of the sub took care of that.

Just out of curiousity, what is your answer about certain species (and there are lots of diffrent types) of birds where the male birds exclusively build the nest, and the female bird inspects the nest to determine whether the male is worthy of mating with. In your opinion, is this natural or did the birds just make it up? In those bird species, the male has the exclusive responsibility to build that nest. The female bird would not know how to do it, nor would she ever try because the male bird w…

Yeah I kind of agree with you. I don’t find it attractive and I guess until you articulated it I couldn’t figure out exactly why.

How's your sex life? Resentments are like weeds and sex is like weed killer. If you're not having sex and getting bogged down in the doldrums of every day life, then you're bound to be miserable. Your house, yard, kitchen, garage... etc. etc. etc. is never, ever going to be perfect. And no, I have found that men genuinely do not see the things we see. They just don't. You have to learn to appreciate the things they do, and just relax over the things they don't. And just relax in general... Also,…

Well I echo some others here that say take your time with this man. I had my first child at 32 and my second 26 months later. So you still have “time” What I came to say is don’t let your relationship with your mom color how you feel you will or will not be as a mother. I too had the same feelings as you regarding my mom and being afraid to have children because I was afraid I’d “become like her,” etc. Now my kids are 12 and 10. I am my own person and my own version of motherhood. What I have al…

So not only is he not standing up for you, he's gaslighting you? This is also troubling.

Are these kid free times leading up to sex? I mean it can't if Grandma is there but it seems like this when you'd be fitting a date night and sex in. Have you discussed that with him? If you haven't been, then maybe the suggestion that you'd like this to be a date night with sex as the ultimate goal will motivate him to set some boundaries with Grandma, while not looking like you're trying to isolate her.

For me, I love to cook, and the act of putting together a meal for my husband and/or family is a way to express my love for them. And yes, my husband will offer to do the dishes afterwards, but many times, I decline - also an act of love.

I agree with the other posters that your boyfriend's solution is completely unworkable with an infant and honestly, after two years, you should be well past the point of him having to "prove" himself to you. It sounds like you've bent over backwards to make his life easy, while taking on too much of a burden on yourself -- for whatever reason (but something you should look into later on down the road when you've figured out what you're going to do in the immediate future). As for the pregnancy…

Yeah i was going to say Dave Ramsey too. Read that book "Total Money Makeover" - it's really good. That being said, he's super super anti, any borrowing/credit cards/credit score, etc. I get it, his point is to be debt free and that's absolutely what you should be, but at the same time, having a really good credit score (which he calls the "i love debt score" can make life ALOT easier on you. The moral of the story is to manage your debt wisely. Also, if you plan to be a SAHM or the like, please…

This sounds like a bunch of feminist garbage. Dating down in education and income? I mean, I seriously doubt by "dating down" they mean a woman lawyer is dating a pizza delivery boy. I bet they mean the target male is a carpenter, plumber, or some other type of skilled worker and they are somehow trying to convey that this type of man is not "worthy" of a highly educated, professional woman. Don't listen to that. (woman lawyer here, btw)

From your post history, it appears that you are suffering from some type of severe mental health break. Please consult with a professional psychiatrist or another therapist on these issues.

"He doesn't say anything mean I guess, he tells me it was this X amount after he pays it. Him commenting on it triggers me, because it signals that we aren't doing well" Him commenting on it doesn't signal anything except this is how much it is and he paid it. You're extrapolating everything else from there. You being "triggered" by that is somewhat childish. This is called running a household or any business for that matter. I wholeheartedly support therapy if you're suffering from anxiety and …

When you say he "comments on the few minor expenses we have" what do you mean exactly? What does he say? What kind of expenses? Is there anything that you can do to reduce them (even by a miniscule amount). Sometimes just the effort is enough. Three months really isn't enough adjustment time. You've got to reframe your thoughts on this. One year at minimum. Trust what he says. You just had a major life upheavel. And you absolutely 100% MUST STOP comparing your life with your brother's or anyone …

Stay out of this. This is not your business. Frankly, you should not be "staring intently" at the Dad's phone to see what he's doing. It's his business. The old saying, "Curiousity killed the cat" exists for a reason.

The other angle you may want to discuss with your SO is how old you want to be at the end of the road? I can tell you at 44 with a 17, 13, 11 and 9 year old between my husband and I (we are a blended family, the younger two belong to me) I am slightly jealous of those of my friends who had kids earlier because they are younger when their kids are flying the coop so they are traveling and enjoying that aspect of life. I still have a ways to go. Just another thought and discussion point for you.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I second the suggestion of The Five Love Languages. I would also suggest another book that may be helpful: Getting the Love You Want by Harville Hendrix.

You’re traumatized by your family? Get over it. Only you control how you feel. I assume you’re an adult. If so, start acting like one and stop blaming your family for whatever you think is “triggering” you. You are triggering you. Your hand is on the trigger. Take it off. This is called life. You have to navigate life and not everyone is going to stay in their lane. In fact, pretty much no one is. Be thankful there are people who care enough to talk to you.

Hurts, or wrongs. There's a reason women get stereotyped for bringing up things that happened 8762515 years ago. Because it happens so frequently. Don't be this person. You will be so much happier, which in turn will make you so much more attractive to your partner. It's a win-win.

If you decide to move past a grievance, no matter how big or small, let it go. Holding on to the negative is poison.

You absolutely can be a housewife. But listen, don't throw out ALL those old tight clothes. Because your future man who wants a housewife might just want a little 'hoe' all to himself every now and then.

My natural color is very dark brown. I highlighted to a really pale blonde from the time I was 17 to just last year ( I’m 43 now). Highlights were very close together and not chunky so that eventually even though it’s only highlights it’s blonde. I can’t tell you how many people over the years thought I was a “natural blonde” Anyway the answer is yes. Get yourself a good hairdresser though at a reputable salon.

You absolutely must speak up and set some boundaries. This is inappropriate behavior that will wreck your relationship. That you are not comfortable with it is enough. Make it very, very clear. Just because you are Redpill doesn't mean you're a doormat. Explain that this makes you uncomfortable, that it is not okay, and that you feel it is disrespectful to you as his woman for him to engage with other women in this manner. If he's a real person, is invested in you, and wants to make this work, h…

Okay but what about the notion of reaping what you sow? When I go for a run, my body pumps out endorphins. It's the body's way of rewarding you for doing something that is good for you. I'm putting energy into an activity that has a benefit to my body - it helps my posture, it helps my blood pressure, it keeps down weight. There's a 100% natural biological response (reward) to me doing something that could also be perceived as being done to "look better" and "be more appealing" to men. We cannot…

Women have been applying makeup in some form or fashion since ancient Egyptian times. I 100% wear make up for myself. I put it on every single day, without fail. I genuinely FEEL better and more myself. I don't wear heavy make up, it takes about 10 minutes to apply and there's really not that much difference if I'm putting it on to make breakfast or going out for dinner (maybe a smokier or more dramatic eye for the latter). I don't feel like its some patriarchal beauty standard. Makeup just enha…
