Coming from someone who actually supports polyamory as a viable and healthy relationship model, I don't think your argument has the intended effect.

You just did a far better job of describing my feelings than I could have.

I actually have far more criticism for the magazines, talk shows, etc. than this subreddit, if that means anything.

You make a good case, but I still can't fight that general feeling of unease when reading this subreddit. You guys need to stress that these aren't replacements for genuine spontaneous interaction, and are just to build confidence to do it on your own. It definitely doesn't come off that way on first glance.

No, you're right, those are real things, but generally I haven't been reading about them on the front page. Most of the posts seem a little more manipulative than that, at first glance, but maybe you guys are just having an off day. And if a guy does this naturally, why is there a need to plan it beforehand on the interweb? Not arguing that it's not natural, just wondering why here?

Alright, I would question how often it works. I have no doubt that it does, but if successful I'd question a) the quality of the woman, and b) how many women it failed on before it worked, and also what other factors came into play besides advice from other dudes on the internet. To be fair, I'm sure there are some genuine posts about building confidence, being yourself, and showering more, but I've seen some terribly elaborate play by plays that would epically fail on any woman I've ever met.

I don't represent all women. Whatever works for them.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
