College fraternitiesJoining a fraternity in the 80s was the best and worst thing I've ever done. My frat buddies are still my best friends 30 years later. But pledging freshman year with an 8am calc class sent my grades to shit. I wasn't the only one: I was at the top of my pledge class with a 2.2. Don't do that. We were too focused on partying, not enough on why we were at college. Things have changed a lot since then, and I'll encourage my sons to join, but only one of the ones that focus on making better men, no… | /r/askTRP | 12/01/19 05:38 PM
*no trolls* any advice for a man who's basically given up?I've suffered from this kind of depression. I don't know if those who haven't can understand the pain. Hang in, brother. Everything passes, give it just one more day, and then another day, and things will pass. That's what I did. And I made it through, and it's the thing I'm most proud of in my life. I'm fucking still alive. It was so close at 24 for me. I hit bottom, and decided to put off killing myself for one more day, and then one more. And my life turned out awesome after that. In large pa… | /r/askTRP | 12/01/19 03:28 PM
*no trolls* any advice for a man who's basically given up?Having been depressed, I agree with the two drivers. There are more, too --don't underestimate the existential-- but these are great to start with. | /r/askTRP | 12/01/19 02:43 PM
Short men are the least desirable! Chads cannot comprehend the opposite end of the spectrum.Average US male height is 5'10. However, one standard deviation is +/- 4 inches: 5'6" to 6'2". That's 68% of US men, and the range for average height. I'm 5'6.5". I have never had problems getting laid, although I'll admit almost all of them have been curvy short girls... Who are my type. I suspect the women making those tweets -- assuming the screen cap isn't fake-- are tall gals with shitty, popular-girl attitudes. | /r/MGTOW | 17/10/18 01:26 AM

How do you build up the courage to go to the bar alone or not look like a weirdo?Walk in. Find an empty seat at the bar. Sit down. Order a drink. Not to be a smartass, but it's that simple. There are friendly bars, where friendly bartenders and regulars will include you in conversations right away. These tend to be dive and neighborhood bars where people aren't out to impress anyone. Try those first to learn how to chat to new people. Then you can get comfortable with the process before going more of a singles bar or club. | /r/askTRP | 04/10/18 03:02 AM

Shit test practice, coaching or online exercises? Thanks. Good advice! I do care less than I used to, but still feel that responding appropriately instead of not at all or with a blue pill reaponse would be helpful. Amused Mastery seems a worthwhile goal, and I feel getting a better handle ony responses would be a good thing. | /r/askMRP | 16/06/18 10:21 PM
Shit test practice, coaching or online exercises?Yeah, I dunno. I do Krav and the guys there comment how strong I am, and I took all these weights down a few months ago to really focus on form, and am slowly moving back up. I have a strong core, and have always had rally strong legs and a big muscular ass. But I've always struggled with OHP and not sure why: I reach failure point on the last set and advance slowly there. But my arms look great. But I'll take your advice and maybe work on loading up more at least for the first set. That one's u… | /r/askMRP | 16/06/18 10:17 PM
Is anybody here happy they got married in the first place?Kids aren't for everyone. My mom told me when I was a kid that if abortion had been legal when she was pregnant I wouldn't exist. No malice, just fact. And I do feel unwanted kids might be better off not being born: my childhood was a horror show. But that being said, I'm glad I exist and am alive. For me, being a parent has given value and meaning to my life. I'm an athiest, and have struggled with the pain of nihilism and feeling life is empty and meaningless. And I haven't come up with much o… | /r/askTRP | 16/06/18 11:41 AM
Is anybody here happy they got married in the first place?I am! But I don't think I'm yer typical MRP guy. I married a great gal who, while certainly not a unicorn, I've often been able to reason with over the years. 20+ years and the sex is still good, we've raised 3 great kids (exhausting, yes, but damn, so rewarding, and my/our gift to the future) and I honestly still just like and enjoy my wife. That doesn't mean that we haven't had our issues. Yeah, she can be a pain in my ass. And like everyone else, I've been mystified by her continuing unhappin… | /r/askTRP | 16/06/18 04:15 AM
Two Years MRP: Sharing notes on the Big Picture. This was helpful to a new guy. Extremely. Thanks, super helpful to hear this stuff. 6 months in, I'm still trying to make it through all the reading. How you SOBs get through Dieda, NMMNG, WISNIFG and the stoics as quickly as you do is beyond me. ;) I still don't know, what the hell is DEERing? My google-fu is also weak apparently. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 19/12/17 12:37 PM
