The rich and rewarding experience of being with someone who is neurotic and has low self-esteem. Huh. Like the guy who lovebombs you when you are being his perfect goddess and punches a wall when you aren't doing exactly what he expected? And wants to control what you wear because your body is a dangerous substance that causes him too many strong emotions? It's a pretty big difference between these guys and people who are a little socially awkward.

It's not hypocritical to decline to engage with someone just because they demanded it.

You need to do some research on Peterson if you aren't aware of anything he's ever said that's disgusting.

He is quite literally insane, and it's unfortunate how much influence he has over young male minds. He has a drug problem and he was comatose for god knows how long undergoing some strange procedures in Russia to cure him of his addictions. His daughter has an incredible amount of influence on him, which is odd, considering she adopted the tradwife mentality and has nothing going on other than being a young mom and promoting her "all red meat, nothing else" diet, which he practices. I am not sur…

He voiced his opinion and then got immensely triggered when other people voiced their opinions in response. He's a hypocrite and he's got a lot of disgusting world views.

I completely agree. I posted for months never getting approved. I'm a woman, I only post in other feminist subs. My comments were left unapproved for so many days that by the time they were approved, the conversation was in the past. What is the point of a female-only space when actual women are not allowed to speak? And now they come back only to promote their podcast. I guess the ad revenue on a personal website is pretty appealing. edit: and there's a fundraiser lmao.

I was reading about how there are something like 700+ members of the US GOP that have been accused/charged with sex crimes and was thinking that it's probably linked to porn usage. The majority of those men are religiously Christian and subscribe to a type of Christianity that throws shame on sex and denies sexual education. We know that men are not able to abstain from porn unless they are really enlightened. You then get a man who only knows two things: sex for procreation with his wife, and a…

Some of what you're feeling is probably conditioning, since you've spent most of your life being sexual with another person. You can recondition yourself to really appreciate pleasuring yourself without a partner. It can be more than simply fingering yourself to get the feeling out of the way. As others have recommended, I say have some fun exploring the world of vibrators and other sex toys. Don't go for the kitschy dildos, but check out a sex shop that focuses on female pleasure and get their …

I really like this study because it's obvious that some male data scientist wanted to definitively prove that he really can't get laid, and it's not just that he's an unappealing dweeb, it's that he is statistically unlikely to get a woman to like him. And all they actually do is show that they are concretely, numerically, objectively, not good enough to most women. It's almost... what we've all been saying all along? Men like this look at the options and they realize that they absolutely requir…

Women in early-mid twenties can't settle down with someone their own age because men are still messing around. If they go older, they're getting a guy who fetishizes their youth and is only with them because it's the right time to settle down and get a young woman to start bearing their children. I think the only rational solution for a woman is to grow up herself, find and know herself and her desires, build her independence, and then, if a man appears who is a good person and on her wavelength…

I wonder why, if she has been angry every day of her life for the past 20 years, he hasn't said anything to her. She clearly hates her life. Doesn't he wonder why?

I would love to see people coming out of the sex-positivity critical movement who aren't from conservative Christian backgrounds. This really has nothing to do with religion, shame, or morals, but it comes off that way when the critics of sex-positivity and liberal feminism happen to be Christian women. Maybe this is because I'm not in the US, but I am surprised to read the point that fewer people are co-habitating. I am 33, and everyone I know is co-habitating partially due to financial stress,…

1) You have plenty of youth left. PLENTY. He wasted some of your time, not all of your youth. 2) If a grown man is so callous that he uses a young woman/teenager, he does not value women his age more than he values you. He in fact does not value women at all. It's possible his behaviour with her is different than it is with you. That does not mean he is capable of love with some women and not you. It does not mean she is more valuable than you, in his eyes or anybody's. It's his character defect…

This is completely in line with what I've experienced. Half of men are pedophiles (even if they don't act it out in real life). The other half are attracted to teens at least as much as they are attracted to adult women. They are more likely to hit on teenagers, which isn't captured here, but I'm not surprised that they are just as attracted to adult women- it's just that they would rather seek out teens because they are easier to manipulate. There is also a big issue with teen-chasing amongst g…

It's natural to want to be attractive to the people you want romantic relationships with. We just have to recognize where the gross imbalances are. Do men have obsessive practices like the ones you listed in order to stay maximally attractive throughout their lives? Absolutely not. I would not find a man attractive if he completely let himself go, and I wouldn't expect anyone to find me attractive if I did it either. The point is that we have these huge inequities in expectations put on men and …

It sounds like you've been exposed to an unusually high amount of trauma growing up and it's making you think that there could be way more abusive women out there than there really are. If a man says he has "crazy" ex-girlfriends, that is your first sign that he has issues. A man who is truly HV but encountered someone toxic doesn't go off about "my crazy ex". He would keep that private and only talk to you about it when he trusts you. He will also not dehumanize her and say she was horrible and…

This is a great reminder that the average man does not actually respect the women in his life. This was not just a chance to "see boobies" which are easily accessible on the internet, he desperately wanted to see pornography of a woman that he actually knows in real life.

Well said. It can be hard to recognize the ways in which we've internalized pandering to the male gaze, and once we do recognize it, it's then hard to deal with the backlash of not doing it anymore. We grow up being conditioned to believe that we should be as appealing as possible, until we (hopefully) one day realize how horrendous it is to live life providing pleasure to men we don't even know just by being in their sight. A big thing for me is staying off social media and finding someone who …

No. My ex threatened suicide and I still refused to get back together. Two months later, he had someone new. He's now engaged, proving that he was capable of changing and doing all the things I wanted- but not for me. If he wanted to, he would.

Exactly... I feel there is a lot more beneath the surface here and it's not totally about the ring. He provides all kinds of reasons as to why he is making the objectively best choice, but seems unable to explain why she insists on a natural diamond. My guess is he has a tendency to be controlling. He doesn't even really want to present her side or her preferences. Does this man ensure that all of his purchases are conflict-free? Is this a huge part of his lifestyle? Or is he just applying it to…

Is it possible that you don't know the relationship as well as you think? Men are surprisingly good at putting on their best face when others are around. I wouldn't consider myself being treated like a "queen" if there isn't even a ring but I'm looking after a house.

I agree, I think he was actually feeling entitled to sex and was pissed he wasn't getting it rather than anything to do with the ride. Then because you texted, he figured he might as well go for the "Netflix" date since he wasn't planning to ask you out anymore. It's just a guy being a jerk about not getting laid.

All three women I know who have had abortions are eternally grateful that they had access to them. One of them has spinal damage and likely would have sustained further injury if she had been forced to carry to term as you are suggesting. Women alone bear the burden of the physical trauma of childbirth and taking away access to abortion can only uphold women's oppression.

I have known guys like this through my hobby groups. They ask me for advice because I'm a woman lol. When I flat out tell them they have nothing to offer a woman, it's very triggering for them. These men have an inferiority complex. They hate that other men are more appealing to women and their sense of inferiority becomes their identity. They see relationships as a competition, both against other men and against women. It's an incredibly toxic outlook. There are so many men out there who know t…

You saw it with your own eyes, I think that evidence is enough in itself. I think men do this as a way of "asking permission" to do something they have been made aware of but are not interested in changing. I'm sure many men have had this issue brought up to them, but the difference is that some take it in and change the behaviour. He's vocalizing his intention to keep doing it.
