Part of being an adult is expressing ourselves even when it's not what the other person wants to hear. "I don't want to hurt them" is another way of saying, "I'm afraid of how they'll react." I've had this problem too, so I know where OP is coming from, but there's no trick; you just have to say it: "I want to see other people." | 2 | First date seems to be my sticking point. What do I do?This is great advice that I intend to employ. My only problem is that I'm self-conscious about my apartment. It's pretty crappy for a guy in his 30s. It holds me back because I don't want to invite women over. I'm scared of that being like "what the fuck is a 35 yr old living in a place like this?"
