Sure, you can have few breakouts over your life if you're very lucky. Most people aren't. Some people are very unlucky. Most people who get HSV2 will never know they have it. The CDC estimates that 87% of Americans who have HSV2 have never had a doctor tell them. I remember reading on the UK governments health departments webpage that about 40% of people with HSV2 will never have any symptoms in their life, 40% of people with HSV2 will have symptoms but they will be so minor that they won't thin…

Physically, herpes is not more than a minor annoyance a couple times in a lifetime...for most people, but don't let anyone that you don't seriously want to have sex with know you have it. Herpes doesn't spread that easily but the knowledge of who has it can. It would be great if there wasn't such a negative stigma attached to it, but there is. And I know people keeping their positive HSV2 status secret is not helping the stigma go away, but having other people know you have it can really fuck up…
