I'm from Europe and here it's not even something parents have to consider with their newborns. I think it's a cultural thing mostly, and my society will find tons of reasons why it's a bad thing, and your society will do the opposite. It's what's considered normal, and we wouldn't want our kid to not be normal. If I had a medical problem later in life that could be fixed by getting circumcised, I'd most likely also say that. They had a legitimate problem, and for them it was the solution. Doesn't mean that we should perform it on everyone just because it could cause a problem for a few.

And since we're not getting more sick than Americans, I'd think that that would make you think about your preconceptions. It's not a medical decision, it's a religious/traditional decision. I come from Europe, and we don't do it EXCEPT if there's a real medical problem. Most people are intact and can't fathom why you guys in the US feel so insecure, and come up with all these reasons why your kids also need to be cut.
