But I prefer size over being lean. You can get big even if you are skinny now. Look for good information and read up, I like Renaissance Periodization, Mike Israetel is frequent on podcasts and youtube. | -5 | Which weightlifting program to start, already in shape.Dont do 5x5, do higher reps and higher volume. Read this for why: https://mennohenselmans.com/optimal-training-volume/ Find a linear progression (LP) program with more volume. One that I can recommend is r/nsuns, it got good amount of volume and is LP. The problem is that it progresses week to week and you want workout to workout, so look around a bit, there Ive heard of Greyskull LP on reddit, but havent checked it out. | 1 | Too lazy to workout at 100% effort at the gymWrite down your RMs for all reps, try to beat them frequently. You can always beat them in one rep range, maybe sometimes you train for strength and beat a 1-3 RM, other times you try as many reps as possible and beat a 15-20 RM. That gives you a goal to lift more. Train with friends, that always pushes me to do more when Im tired. It makes me stay longer at the gym and do more when I alone would have gone home. Write down every workout and try to beat it the next time with more reps, set or wei… | /r/askTRP | 04/10/18 02:46 PM |

Where is the best place to learn to fight?Sure, doesnt mean you should focus all your training on it. Better focus on standing and add in some ground techniques as well, as they do in krav. | /r/askTRP | 09/07/18 03:26 PM
Where is the best place to learn to fight?I've trained Krav for over 2 years. Ofc you will never be secure against multiple attackers, but you can be more or less prepared, more if you train for it. About the last part of your comment, Krav will train mostly standing fighting and you will not waste your time at for eg clinch | /r/askTRP | 09/07/18 03:25 PM
Where is the best place to learn to fight?Go for krav maga definitely. Multiple attackers, training against weapons and training with street mentality. Its not a sport for a reason. Mma or BJJ is stupid, you dont want to crawl on the ground, his friends or some random (that see you winning -> youre the bad guy) will kick you in the head. If you want to train a sport go for thai or kick boxing. But for self defense the best choice is krav maga. | /r/askTRP | 07/07/18 10:07 PM
Sex issues. All diets work for same reason calorie deficit or surplus. Eat what you like most. If its easy for you to be in deficit/surplus with keto sure do that if you enjoy it, but ist not something magical as much people say. | /r/askMRP | 11/06/18 09:00 PM
Mma or lifting?I would lift. It gets you to look better. Also, how many fights have you've been to in your life? And third if you want to know self defense then actually learn that, like Krav Maga. MMA is a sport and only 1v1, no weapons etc, its not really transferable to street fights | /r/askTRP | 06/06/18 09:45 PM

Neck Exercises for beginnersBuy a neck harness, just bought one and they are awesome. But you could also do it with a hat and a weight on your forehead (or back of the head for reverse ones). | 2 | Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough?Well it's true. You can build muscle with high reps or low reps. However low reps are ineffective due to creating a lot of fatiuge, as you mentioned. Are you doing reps of 6,8,12 now? That's absolutely fine, in the article from RP, he assumes a working set to have reps between 8-20. I guess the normal range would be 8-12, but sometimes you can step out of it and do 5's or 15, or even 20 if you feel like it. But too high reps, above 20 and perhaps 20 as well, would probably train your endurance m… | /r/TheRedPill | 05/04/18 08:27 PM

How to train for hypertrophySo who train for strength then? Only amateurs? I would say powerlifters train for strength, and that strength training is mostly around 3RM. You don't have to limit yourself to 3-4 days if you don't want to. 5-6 days are absolutely fine if you prefer. Bodybuilder splits are stupid yes, due to lack of frequency. Hypertrophy training with much volume and frequency is how you should train for growth. As you state 8-12 reps are suitable and hitting each muscle group 2-6 times per week depending on g… | /r/TheRedPill | 05/04/18 08:07 PM

Old School Squat Program for Strength, Size, and ConfidenceWhat is wrong with you? It's not optimal in any way to only focus on getting stronger and doing 3 sets per week. If you want to get bigger you need to do enough volume, it's no fucking preference. If you prefer shitty gains it might be. | /r/TheRedPill | 03/04/18 09:05 PM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough?I don't know why mine is relevant, but I did 175 kg at 77 kg BW, giving 2.3 times my bodyweight. You can absolutely get abs without doing deadlifts. And although deadlifts are good for other reasons its not the best way to build abs. Also if you want a really nice stomach, how would you build obliques with deadlifts and squats? Jeff Nippard can explain it for you, 2 min in this clip "Squats and deadlifts actually don't activate the abs very well. Which should be fairly obvious (not to everyone a… | /r/TheRedPill | 03/04/18 04:55 PM
Old School Squat Program for Strength, Size, and ConfidenceDoing heavy sets is not enough to grow in an optimal manner. Yeah sure people might not have time, but then they can superset exercises, lower rest time, both of which is easier with lighter loads. Of course you need progressive overload also, when did I claim the opposite? | /r/TheRedPill | 03/04/18 01:01 PM
Old School Squat Program for Strength, Size, and ConfidenceYes they are, your idol has chicken legs. You think Israetel did studies on steriods users or what? Exactly my point. You cant do enough volume with heavy lifts due to fatigue. You can still grow on it, but its not optimal. Anecdotal "evidence" isnt valid, but much people dont seem to get that. | /r/TheRedPill | 03/04/18 12:09 PM

Haha, you dont need steriods to be serious with your leg training, however its a good idea to do deadlifts and squats, which Greg pussies out on. You need both. Did you even click any of the articles I sent you? Or if you're too lazy for that as well, just read the quotes, they litterally say: volume is key driver for hypertrophy and volume > progressive overload. Now, your turn, … | /r/TheRedPill | 03/04/18 03:49 AM |
How to train for hypertrophyYeah, for me that's just common sense. Thought you meant something fancier, like super slow reps. | /r/TheRedPill | 03/04/18 03:45 AM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough? No idea. Would recommend you to stay at your new weight for 4-6 weeks before bulking to let the body adapt to it before changing again. | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 10:48 PM
How to train for hypertrophyretard, liftsrm, it only got a user though so you won't be able to login. Also did this one if you want one that you can try out: pullup | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 10:01 PM
How to train for hypertrophyWell here you have some volume landmarks for quads. So frequency is at least ok, within 1.5-3 times/week. What about volume? MV is 6 sets, this will maintain your muscle. MEV is 8 sets, minimum volume to grow. MAV is 12 to 18, you want to be here to grow good. MRV is 20, you want to stay below this most of the time to recover well. And what do we got in the program. 3 shitty sets per week? No, I think it's way too little. According to Isreatel you wouldn't even maintain your muscle on it. It doe… | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 09:58 PM
How to train for hypertrophyI even made a webpage to track my RM's in different lifts and I use it every weeek, lifting log | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 09:44 PM
How to train for hypertrophyI think it's bs, haven't heard anyone mention it and I follow kinda much profiles in lifting. If it would have been that important as he claims, they should talk about it, however its not what they mentions as most or even important for hypertrophy, it's volume and progressive overload that are mentioned. Here you have Eric Helms talking about it. | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 08:38 PM
How to train for hypertrophyWell I'm doing about 15 different exercises per week, and it might go one week before I do it again. Also that's on different rep ranges, say only two different rep ranges and if would be 30 items to remember. | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 08:08 PM
How to train for hypertrophyGood for you, why you even track calories, you don't remember what you eat and get a feel for that? Yeah, as you didn't read, I've been lifting for 1 year and 4 months. Also I saw a really big change from going from low volume programs (Madcow, Brian Alsruhe Linear Progression) towards a program with higher volume and frequency (Upper Lower split 5 times per week, 5 sets x 10 reps per exercise). | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 07:49 PM
How to train for hypertrophyWell I can only talk for myself and there is no way that I would remember all my lifts during one week. Also if I do 10's for some weeks and then want to do 5's I have to go back several weeks to see what's appropriate to start with there. Updated the post with my stats and pics. | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 04:17 PM
How to train for hypertrophyI did this recently. Upper/lower program, with Week 1: X X O X X O X, Week 2: X O X X O X X and so on. I did 5 sets, and kept reps at 10 for 4 weeks before switching to 8 for 4 weeks. I did one exercise per muscle group more or less. Typically I did: Upper 1: OHP, Chins, BB Row, Incline Bench, skullcrushers, curls Lower 1: Squats, Deadlifts, Leg extensions, Leg curls. Upper 2: Bench, Chins, Seal Row, Incline Bench, skullcrushers, curls Lower 2: Deadlifts, squats (my friends did front squats but … | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 04:01 PM
How to train for hypertrophyBecause I'm not a fucking moron Starting to doubt that. Most people don't go into the gym and just bench, but if you only do that I can understand that you remember all your lifts. Most people do variations on reps and exercises, so you would have to remember a lot. | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 03:39 PM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough?Does the app have this song playing? | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 03:34 PM
How to train for hypertrophyIf you don't plan nothing and just go to the gym and overload by feel you will not overload as much as if you plan for it and try to beat your previous lifts. Of course I write down all my lifts, it's awesome. How do you overload if you don't know what you were doing previously, makes no sense. | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 01:09 PM
How to train for hypertrophyI dont know about that program, you mind to link it? Yeah heard that about milk, I dont know what to make of it really, I keep eating milk and other daries. | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 12:28 PM
How to train for hypertrophyWell, if you want good result you have to do the work, not only in the gym but also using your mind and setting up a good plan. Of course you can get mediocre results by just going to the gym mindlessly. It's like saying that to loose weight you only need to eat less. Well sure you might get results from that. But not the same results as if you track your calories, lower them over time and make sure you get progress. | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 12:22 PM
How to train for hypertrophyAgree, I think that OHP, rows, pullups, incline bench etc are great and encourage everyone to use them in their routine. | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 08:59 AM
How to train for hypertrophyIm going to listen to Eric Helms and trust him in that it's not what has been shown as most important now. | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 08:58 AM
How to train for hypertrophyWhat do you mean? You bulk up and get bigger, then you cut and get leaner. Repeat. Do you think that all the muscle that you've build goes away when cutting or what? Maxx Chewning has a great physique, I don't think that more than that is what most people want anyway, at least not me. | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 08:53 AM
Old School Squat Program for Strength, Size, and ConfidenceWhy does not doing squats matter? Who cares? Legs aren't his priority. In what world are bulgarian split squats for pussies? Machines are for pussies. No, everybody can see that, he have really shitty legs. I think it's easier to progress and overload by squatting than doing bss. I really don't care about who copied who. I wouldn't care either if Greg had added some value. But he basically copied Berkhans concept and took out some of the best parts. The number one key for muscle growth is progre… | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 08:48 AM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough?Yeah totally agree with you. You can really see what have worked before and what haven't and get hints about how you should train in the future. Also I love to look through my last workout and see if I can beat what I did. It helps me push myself a bit extra. | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 08:36 AM
How to train for hypertrophyI think its fine to don't do compound movements. But they are time effective and you build a lot muscle in short time, so if you have little time to exercise that's your best bet, and most people do have little time to exercise. | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 08:34 AM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough?I eat no processed food, everything organic and locally sourced Yeah that doesnt matter. But you are correct about the sleep. Also sleeping to little makes you hungrier and people tend to eat more junk food when sleep deprived. | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 08:33 AM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough?I think you could try to train with higher volume, it's less stressful and will help you achieve better gains as well. I also think that older people might need more volume to obtain the same adaptation, but I think I heard that from a Swedish source so I can't really direct you to the source. Here you can read more about training for older people in general, haven't read it all myself and can't guarantee its all good, but maybe worth to check out: https://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/best_over_60_w… | /r/TheRedPill | 02/04/18 08:12 AM
How to train for hypertrophyGreat comments. Yes, Israetel and others such as Jeff Nippard and Eric Helms share so much knowledge for free so it's no problem creating your own program. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 09:51 PM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough?Similar routine as I just did. I did an Upper Lower split. Trained the two workouts consecutively and afterwards one rest day. Did this the whole week so 5 workout days per week. That volume did wonders, did 5x10 for 4 weeks then 5x8 for 4 weeks. I grew a lot, a lot more from anything else, have tried SS, Madcow, a linear progression program by Brian Alsruhe focusing on Deadlift one day, Squats another, Bench one and OHP one. But never did this much volume before and it really made a change. Now… | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 09:49 PM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough? Also if you have platued I think its time to leave full body workouts behind if you have time to train more than 3 times per week. Realize that you need to recover both body parts and the whole neural system so take your rest days. When you rest and sleep you grow. Also you want to be able to train hard next time so dont work yourself out on all muscle groups in one day. For staying in the gym more than two hours, are you really productive after two hours there? Maybe its better to recover. Try … | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 07:00 PM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough?Theres norhing wrong with curls but isolation movements should dont be a big part of your routine. Do 5x5 if you havent developed any substantial strength yet, go to the gym 3-4 times per week if you do 5x5. If you have stalled on 5x5, I recommend doing another program, do a upper lower split with one rest day after so you have upper, lower, rest, upper, lower, rest etc. That gives you 5 times per week. Or do a PPL either PPLRPPL or PPLPPLR. Or just buy a Renaissance Periodization program if you… | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 06:33 PM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough? If thats whats works for you, why not. Wouldnt expect to gain much over time with that approach though. Tracking is easy and doesnt take any extra time, you just get some good challenges to beat. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 06:06 PM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough?Oh so Jeff says it works, well then. Why do any studies at all? Why we dont just ask Jeffy boi and see what works. Great argument. Where do I say that you should use cables? Israetel says that at least two thirds should be compound movements and I agree. Also I argued for heavy compound movements, so dont know where you got that from. Well if you want to have a high frequency and high volume some time is needed, but you dont have to go 6 times per week. You also dont have to aim at growing optim… | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 05:31 PM

Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough? Not exactly all of them, but most of them. I've had exam periods where I've lost a lot of strength due to all outside stress. But if you are in normal circumstances you should progress every workout, and it dont have to be in weight, do one more rep or one more set or look up an old 15RM or 20RM and beat it. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 05:20 PM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough?Martin is old as fuck. Anyway that could be all genetics, who cares about individuals, thats not the point, listen to what he says instead and he posts studies to back it up. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 05:16 PM
How to train for hypertrophyTheres no app, you only have the excel templates on their webpage (renaissance periodization). I havent, but starting a 6 day chest/back split of the male physique template tomorrow. I cant recommend any particular, if you want to buy one choose one that suits how many days you want to workout and if you want to focus on full body or a specific muscle group. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 04:45 PM

How to train for hypertrophyPerhaps you're right on the carry over part. I myself dont understand why its so hard for people to grasp that volume is the key driver for hypertrophy and not strength. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 04:42 PM
How to train for hypertrophySo you mean that if I increase my weight in say bench press from 80x10 to 90x10 that wont have any carry over ro my 1RM? Doesnt make any sense. You wont build size by doing 5's and 3's at least not as fast as by doing 10's. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 03:23 PM
How to train for hypertrophyIt seems kinda good I think, you have a decent amount of volume. Why not try it and go for RP after? I didnt post any program really, but I think that during the RP programs you will not be as strong as before due to heavy volume and overloading. However if you test your strength after the program and after deload and peak Im sure that you will have made strength gains as well. I just want to build muscle right now and dont care for strengrmth anyway and why should you? Who will care how much yo… | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 03:16 PM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough?Do as you please. His advice isnt for steriod users though but whatever. No one cares about how strong you are. | 1 | How to train for hypertrophyMaybe not the same variation of it as you then. Sure you might have good form before starting madcow, so what. What I meant is that strength at 1RM depends a lot of neurological adaptations, thats more than form, its about activating the muscles needed and thats a big part of what you'll practice if you train below 3RM. Obviously you need to overload, where do I say that you don't? I said that if your goal is strength and powerlifting you want to train a lot with <3 RM creating a lot of fatigue … | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 02:57 PM

Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough?Sure but it's still not the fastest or most effective way to build abs, check out Jeff Nippard on this on youtube. No one is denying that getting lean and squatting and deadlifting wont work, its not the most effective way though. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 02:34 PM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough?I would say that 8 sets per week for a muscle group like chest is low even when cutting. Probably 10-12 would be reasonable while cutting and when bulking going from 12 up to 20. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 02:26 PM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough?Yeah took out what I thought was most important and added some other stuff about volume and dieting. But mostly wanted to direct people to Berkhans post, therefore the link and same name. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 02:06 PM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough?Still if you want to build abs, deadlifts and squats is not the best way to do it. About frequency, several studies shows that 2-3 times per week is optimal, still Berkhan sticks with 1 time per week in hos default program. You can squat more than once per week | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 02:03 PM
How to train for hypertrophyWow, so you mean I don't have to stick to a fixed rep that someone told me to do? That's awesome, here I've been doing what I'm told and not thinking that I can alter it at all. Seriously, everyone does that, and if they don't they are just retarded. It's just common sense. Israetel don't just fixed reps in his templates neither. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 12:58 PM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough?True but he exaggerates sometimes saying things like you only need deadlifts and squats to build abs, which is total bullshit. The abs are only activated by deadlifts and squats but by no mean optimally trained by deadlifts and squats. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 12:36 PM
How to train for hypertrophyI would go with Starting Strength or Stronglifts as a beginner and move to RP when you cannot perform well on those. If you want add in a fourth day on those programs to get a bit more volume. But RP seems to be more directed for intermediate lifters. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 11:58 AM
How to train for hypertrophyIt's a full program. You can choose full body. The body part templates has extra focus on that body parts but you still train the whole body, some muscle groups might be put on maintenance and you shouldn't expect too much growth there. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 11:46 AM
Fuckarounditis, are you training hard enough? It's not that hard to figure out but fixed it for you. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 11:45 AM
How to train for hypertrophyIt's a full program of 13 weeks. Great stuff, but create your own if you don't want to pay for it, there's a lot of information on their webpage and Israetel is on youtube and podcasts giving away much information for free. I think it's good to build a strength base. But I don't know how is optimal for training as a beginner. Most will probably work, but the good with starting strength and similar approaches is that you lift heavy with compound exercises and learn to push yourself. You could pro… | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 11:22 AM
How to train for hypertrophyIf you want anecdotal evidence for the method, I don't consider it useful, take a look at Jared Feather and Steve Hall also you have some examples of before after from RP_transformations on instagram here: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 11:04 AM
How to train for hypertrophyNo, that's not strength or volume. Too few sets for volume and too high reps for strength. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 10:40 AM
How to train for hypertrophyWho cares about examples of people doing great on something? Where's the science that says that less frequency and volume is better? | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 10:23 AM
How to train for hypertrophyMike Matthews built an aesthetic physique. I'm not comparing Israetel and Berkhan, you are, and I don't get why. Anyway Berkhan don't train for strength. He still sticks to the 8-12 rep range. But he do way too few sets/week to make enough growth. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 10:21 AM
How to train for hypertrophySo what if Berkhan has great genetics, who cares? That still wont work for the majority. Obviously you have to push yourself and train hard. When people are in a study they train to real failure, you have people screaming at you and you are much more closer to failure than 99% of the people at a gym. They don't ask them, "do you think that was failure?", where the fuck did you get that shit from... | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 10:11 AM
How to train for hypertrophySo what if Berkhan is stronger than Israetel? Who cares? Israetel isn't in it for strength even. Berkhan don't dare to bulk up and grow. He is strong sure, but he is not aesthetic at all. If you can't overload on high frequency and volume you are just stupid. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 10:07 AM
Old School Squat Program for Strength, Size, and ConfidenceLook the video I've sent you from Kinobody saying how you shouldn't do deadlifts or squats. Instead do some pussy ass bulgarian split squats. They're different since Kinobody took Berkhans approach and made it stupid. Eric Helms isn't on steriods. But anyway, try it out and see for yourself, or don't and don't grow as much as you could. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 10:03 AM
How to train for hypertrophyYeah he only have a phd in this shit. Why trust him? Or why listen to Mike Israetel, saying the same things, also phd? No let's trust some drugged powerlifter instead. Martin Berkhan is great but he's wrong on the volume part. If you only train for strength the only that you will do is fatigue yourself and not grow. You grow by training with high volume and doing 8-12 reps. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 09:58 AM
Old School Squat Program for Strength, Size, and ConfidenceHm read your comment again. First I agree that everyone takes from everyone in the fitness industry. But Kinobody took a lot from Leangains and simplified it and stupidfied it. So I think it's better to go to the real source than follow Kinobody. Sure, no one says deadlifts or squats are neccessary. But they are great exercises and if you can do them you should. They activate and build a lot of muscles in short time. But sure if you want to change deadlifts for like 3 other exercises, do so, but… | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 07:38 AM
How to train for hypertrophyAgree. Beginners need to be going to the gym regularly and build up a habit of lifting heavy with compound movements. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 07:33 AM
How to train for hypertrophyDon't know what program you followed but it surely wasn't madcow. You don't reset anything in madcow, you keep adding 5lbs to all lifts every week until you plateau (meaning fail to hit all reps on a lift 3 attempts in a row... sometimes even 4 attempts). And the deload is just subtracting 20lbs from the lift you failed and working your way back up until you blast through the plateau. I did Madcow. I worked up to my plateau, doing too little work until the plateau and after that failed super fas… | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 07:30 AM

Old School Squat Program for Strength, Size, and ConfidenceI mean just check out Berkhan's stuff and then check out Kinobody. IT'S THE FUCKING SAME. Also you have this video of Kinoby explaining how he took everything from Leangains. The things he disagree with is: Leangains uses heavy compound movements, Kinoby does pussy isolation exercises. | 1 | How to train for hypertrophyWell, I think you want to get a gym membership. But you can do a lot with bodyweight exercise for a short period of time. Do pullups, leg raises, toes to bar, dips, handstand pushup, inclined push ups, push ups with someone on your back, squats with someone on your back. The problem is that many exercises are hard to overload and it's also hard to find a exercise that you cannot do too many or too few reps with. But it's possible to do some. If you go high in reps, above 20, you want to aim for … | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 07:00 AM
How to train for hypertrophySure man that'll work. But will it be optimal? It's like if I ask you to get as fat as possible and you tell me that eating potatoes and meat will work. It sure will, but I would recommend you to change it out for some candy and cake. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/04/18 06:55 AM
| -1 | How to train for hypertrophyI agree on what you say about people claiming to be natural, but Jared don't have overly developed traps for example, they look normal, same with Berkhan, which also has a good vascularity. Anyway I don't care if he's natural or not, RP produces great content and that's what I wanted to share. | /r/TheRedPill | 31/03/18 11:51 PM |
How to train for hypertrophyYou made some great points and also great that you post your experience of beginner training as I think many people may have the problem that you describes. | -11 | How to train for hypertrophyDon't think so, that's Jared Feather, natural bodybuilder competitor. Also his physique is similar to Martin Berkhan, who also is natural. | /r/TheRedPill | 31/03/18 11:28 PM
How to train for hypertrophyI agree that you should build up a basic strength. But what Mike talked about in the podcast was frequency for beginners and not volume. So perhaps they could do 4 or even 5 workouts with 5x5, instead of the common 3 times per week. However haven't heard that much about it, was just discussed briefly in the podcast mentioned above. | /r/TheRedPill | 31/03/18 11:17 PM
How to train for hypertrophyCheck this out by Eric Helms. Problem with training for strengths, low reps, is that you create a lot of fatigue. Limiting how much volume you can train and recover from, therefore limiting your gains. | /r/TheRedPill | 31/03/18 11:11 PM
How to train for hypertrophyIf you say that you train for strength. Everyone assumes that you are training for maxing out your 1RM. Yeah strength is a big factor. And I also think it's good to train it sometimes, maybe take some mesocycles and focus on it. But I still belive that main focus should be volume and strength comes second. | /r/TheRedPill | 31/03/18 11:03 PM
How to train for hypertrophyNope. I actually did Madcow after SS and it was really shitty. Low intensity for several weeks, super easy workouts and then in the end it gets super hard for like 2 weeks until you have to start over... You don't need to do any 3's or 5's on squats or deadlifts if you dont want to, you can shoot for 10's or 8's works great. It doesn't make any sense to waste all your energy for 3 reps and then rest for 5 minutes, when you instead can do sets of 10 reps and rest 2 min and smash in a lot of volum… | /r/TheRedPill | 31/03/18 10:58 PM
How to train for hypertrophyNo shit. No one is saying that you don't need strength. But focus shouldn't be on maxing your 1RM and training with <5RM for any substantial amount of time, if your goal is to build muscle. You will get stronger by doing 8-12 reps as well. | /r/TheRedPill | 31/03/18 10:51 PM
How to train for hypertrophyI don't have a good answer for how beginners should train, probably most routines will give result anyway. I did Starting Strength myself and liked it a lot. However you might want to check out this video with Israetel giving tips for beginners. | /r/TheRedPill | 31/03/18 10:49 PM
How to train for hypertrophyThat's what Israetel says in the article and that's what I wrote as well. Leave 1-4 reps in the tank, you don't want to go to failure etc... Btw, on the note on beginners, just listened to a podcast with Dr. Israetel and he talked about that beginners can train more frequently than advanced since they are lifting so light weights that the damage isn't that great. So maybe it would be beneficial to do something with more training frequency than Starting Strength. But haven't found it in written f… | /r/TheRedPill | 31/03/18 10:47 PM
How to train for hypertrophyGreyskull Phark’s Haven't seen that program. But you add in more sets and keep the reps at 8 - 12. There's no reason for not squatting or deadlifting for 8 - 12 reps or higher. Did it myself, not in the RP program, but did 10 reps for four weeks and then 8 reps for 4 weeks and I grew a lot. I only did bench, squats, deadlifts, pullups, seal row and military press. Upper lower split, one day rest between workout days, so 5 workouts per week and 5 set per exercise. Worked wonders. | /r/TheRedPill | 31/03/18 10:39 PM
How to train for hypertrophyNo. I mean sure you need to progress in strength and overload, but pure strength is not in any way optimal for building muscles. | /r/TheRedPill | 31/03/18 10:35 PM
How to train for hypertrophyYeah, I've just found this out myself and are starting a Male Physique template on Monday. So I can update in like 13 weeks. But I have a lot of faith in this, seems sound. | 0 | How to train for hypertrophyUnfortunately I haven't tried it yet, I'm starting a male physique template on Monday though. But his program consists of three mesocycles: 1. Hypertrophy - 5 weeks 2. Metabolite Focus - 5 weeks 3. Resensitization - 3 weeks There's a thread on reddit with a review of some programs from RP, but I cannot link to it for some reason? | 1 | How to train for hypertrophyWell in this article they talk about 8 reps for 80% of 1RM. But I think on periods RP also uses reps of as low as 6 and as high as 20, so 8-12 is not set in stone, but most of the volume will be there. | /r/TheRedPill | 31/03/18 10:22 PM
How to train for hypertrophyYeah, it's really awesome stuff. And he is great listening to, so I really recommend the podcasts! Also thank you for reading the links, just outlined the most basics here, but there's a lot more in the articles. | /r/TheRedPill | 31/03/18 08:35 PM

Old School Squat Program for Strength, Size, and ConfidenceHaha Kinobody is the stupid lifter in the fitness industry as well. He just coped all of Martin Berkhan, leangains. He was actually a client to Martin. Then he copies his intermittent fasting, training 3 times per week. But what he didnt copy was the hard work and squats and deadlifts. Instead Kinoby says its fine to do pussy exercises in the gym. If you want to follow any of them go for Martin Berhan at leangains.com. | 1 | Why so much focus on lifting?Yeah I got that. But I mean its the same as the salary, a great body or a high salary gives you an advantage. The best way to build a great body is through lifting, thats why its prefered. | /r/askTRP | 30/03/18 01:37 PM
Why so much focus on lifting? Why have a 6 figure salary, you cant be confident without it? That's your argument. Why dress good, why read books, why develop yourself? I think lifting is good since its the most efficient way to look better. But do other sports for fun if you like. | /r/askTRP | 30/03/18 01:00 PM

Old School Squat Program for Strength, Size, and ConfidenceThere is none. If you want hypertrophy do a lot of volume and stay in 6-15 rep range, most lf the time 8-12. With 20 reps most of it will go to endurance and maybe some of the last 5ish reps will help you gain. But its only one set.... Read up on the science for hypertrophy. A great dude to listen to is Mike Israetel, hes on youtube, podcasts, has books and his own business. Really great information on hypertrophy trainig | /r/TheRedPill | 30/03/18 06:12 AM
Old School Squat Program for Strength, Size, and ConfidenceNo its not suitable for hypertrophy, at least not maximizing it. You want to have a frequency of hitting every muscle group 2-3 times per week when training. Also its not that much volume and volume is the key driver for hypertrophy. I dont even think its a good program for improving squats. Too little sets and only once a week + 3 sets extra... | /r/TheRedPill | 30/03/18 06:06 AM
Right, I'm finally willing to go all in with the gym. I want to put on as much weight as I can, as fast as I can.Start with this or starting strength! You need to build a base strength using linear progression and learning the compounds movements. This will give you a good foundation to stand on. Later you can do some hypertrophy program but the first one should be this. Also as a beginner you will grow with little volume so you will get bigger with these programs too | /r/askTRP | 20/03/18 06:35 PM

What are some good workout routines?https://leangains.com/reverse-pyramid-training-guide/ It's not focues on strength really. Haven't tried it myself. I'm also interested in hypertrophy programs, haven't found something useful yet, most that I find is about strength. Tell me if you find something interesting! :) Now I'll try 7 in this: https://www.t-nation.com/training/8-most-effective-training-splits But 6 days per week. | /r/askTRP | 26/01/18 05:57 AM

What are some good workout routines?Do you do compound movements? If not do as above say and follow Starting strength as described in sidebar. If yes and you have done it or something similar then you can do multiple programs. For example leangains.com just published a good one. I did MadCow after starting strength, it was fine. | /r/askTRP | 26/01/18 04:58 AM

Unprotected sex based on cycleIt stupid. Really stupid. Ive listened about an app that help you with that but the girl has to take her temperature at the SAME time all days, the FIRST thing when she wake up, not after bathroom or anything. And if shes been drunk it doesnt work either. So yeah give it a try and good luck with your new child | /r/askTRP | 26/01/18 01:41 AM

Can't afford a gym? THAT'S JUST AN EXCUSE. Stop with the EXCUSESYou do sparring in Krav as well. Also you do it against multiple opponents. If you poke someone hard in the eyes, punch in the throat or kick/knee in the balls, that will not make them "angry". They'll be on the ground crying. Krav Maga is developed to handle a street fight situation. For that reason you don't aim o be on the ground where you can get kicked in the face by someone. You practice techniques that are intuitive and easy to perform under stress, and you practice to be attacked and str… | /r/TheRedPill | 28/12/17 10:47 PM
If you aren't lifting then start now. Story about a bar fightDont go for a material art. Train a self defense system if you want to prepare for street figths. I train Krav Maga and we train on defending us with/against weapons and against multiple opponents. That's training for realistic situations. 1vs1 with gloves is not realistic in the street. | /r/TheRedPill | 28/12/17 04:22 PM
Can't afford a gym? THAT'S JUST AN EXCUSE. Stop with the EXCUSESWtf, Krav Maga is no Judo dude. I've trained it for three years an the majority is striking. In muay thai you train 1 vs 1, that's pretty useless for the street, were you have to be ready to encounter weapons and multiple opponents (and they don't wear gloves). Also in Krav Maga they teach you attacks against groin, throat etc. That is not part in sports... | /r/TheRedPill | 28/12/17 03:41 PM
Can't afford a gym? THAT'S JUST AN EXCUSE. Stop with the EXCUSESGo for Krav Maga if you want to learn how to fight fast. MMA is a sport, it comes with some limitations | /r/TheRedPill | 28/12/17 01:23 PM
