What is emotional intelligence because I’ve heard a hundred different definitions at this point. It’s like trying to crack the enigma.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/03/26 12:04 PM

What I am saying is anecdotal of course (as are most things on this subreddit) but many men have observed what I have observed. From my own life and from what I have seen online.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/03/26 12:01 PM

My bad. Can I interest you in some cats?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/03/26 11:58 AM

Not solely because of MeToo, but it did play a major role. But I agree with the other points too, for most men it is like being a circus monkey. Only the Chads are above this dynamic.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/03/26 11:57 AM

Well as a self-described trad woman I would assume you move in different social circles to the average woman. Here in university, the women are very feminist and anti-men.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/03/26 11:50 AM

The rules don’t apply for sugar daddies. Forgot to add that.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/03/26 11:47 AM

I appreciate your optimism, but I am describing my own observations. I am currently in university and the me-too panic is on steroids here.

I’m 21 and a law student. I’m surrounded by these women everyday. Personally, I blame Suits.

No one hates women more than other women. Even mothers are envious of their own daughters. They have this crabs- in-a-bucket-mentality, so it's no surprise when they get hysterical over an older man dating a younger, more attractive woman.

I agree. There’s a lot of women out there who are with a man they settled for because their ideal man didn’t want them. All it does is fuel this resentment and bitterness which expresses itself in daily nagging and ritual humiliation.

Well you could say that about 99% of the things on this sub, but is this sub not for discussing these issues?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/26 09:28 PM

Some issues are more prevalent with one gender than the other. For example, if I made a comment about male violence, no one would say “but all people are violent.”

Well most women think Prince Charming is going to swoop in at any moment and marry them so I’m not surprised.

Always the man’s fault. All women are saints. They can do no wrong.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/03/26 08:01 PM

No, I’m talking about women using no-fault divorces to leave marriages just because they are ‘bored.’ And we all know what that is code for.

Clearly, you have never heard of no-fault divorces.

“All criticism of me is hate.” I’m no psychologist but I’m pretty sure that’s a symptom of narcissism.

The only fairytale is women thinking receive, receive, receive without giving, giving, giving.

From my observations and from what the divorce rates tell us, this seems to be most women in westernized countries.

Those primal instincts exist in all animals, from the simple ant to the Harvard physics professor.

Humans are animals. And like all animals, our most primal instinct is to survive and reproduce. Humanity didn’t survive the Ice Age by choosing mates based on pleasure, no they survived by assessing who would produce offspring that had the best chance of surviving childhood.

Because sexual liberation has convinced women that marriage is slavery and they can sleep around without consequence.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/26 10:07 PM

A scarcity of suitable mates for reproduction. This creates competition. You can literally see this in the wild too, just look at the birds doing all those elaborate displays to attract females or deer fighting over mating rights. Economics can be applied to everything.

That’s a nice ideal, but reality is often disappointing. The fact is, wherever there is scarcity there is competition. And the dating market is one of scarcity.

No, it’s men. Why do you think when women are approached by a man they don’t like, their go-to line is ‘I have a boyfriend.’ It’s because men fear other men more than they do women.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/26 09:48 PM

Well, that is the whole reason for the institution of monogamy. Without it, 80% of women would be competing for 20% of men. But thanks to the sexual liberation movement of the 60s, monogamy has broken down and we are reverting back to our primal ways.

It’s reality. All societies rest on force. Now we have laws and codes of morality which help restraint bad behaviour but they all rest on force. Why do you think we have armies and police forces?

What is ‘emotional intelligence’ to you?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/26 08:58 PM

Thanks to sexual ‘liberation’ of the 60s, early marriage is stigmatised and basically treated as slavery in today’s society. But not all groups have this mindset, just look at the Orthodox Jews, Amish, Mormons, Muslims etc

Do you know what the monopoly on force is? I suggest you read about it.

The vast majority of human history says otherwise. The prime factor in pair bonding was fertility. In fact, the obsession over looks is really just about fertility because good looks indicated good genetics which indicated strong chances of successful reproduction.

Patriarchy is the default though. Women only enjoy the rights they do today because men let them. That’s a harsh pill to swallow but it’s true.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/26 08:36 PM

Yh we know, it’s that 80/20 rule.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/26 08:32 PM
-1

Very true, that’s why we had the institution of monogamy. To equalize these natural disadvantages. There was a woman for every man. But thanks to the sexual ‘liberation’ what we are seeing is a return to that 80/20 distribution.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/26 08:30 PM

Patriarchy is not the radioactive term you think it is. If anything, patriarchy benefits women as their lives are seen as less disposable than a man’s. This is why, for example, ships had a ‘women and children first’ policy.

That’s called wishful thinking. You are denying reality. Do you think humanity survived so long because men were desiring women for who they were as a person?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/26 08:21 PM

Dating has always been us vs them. The dating market is finite, and economics teaches us that scarcity creates competition. To say otherwise is wishful thinking.

They would if it wasn’t societally stigmatised. Just look at the reaction to DiCaprio not dating any woman under 25, they were treating him like he’s Epstein.

What’s wrong with a man desiring a younger woman? Because I really don’t like this double standard. When it’s a woman, she’s called a cougar, when it’s a man, he’s called a pervert or predator.

According to Google, it’s 31 here in the UK. Like most post-industrialised nations, we are suffering from a fertility decline.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/26 08:02 PM

Women are desired for their beauty and fertility, which peaks earlier and declines past 30. Men can accumulate resources for years and years without affecting fertility. So surely men are more coveted?

I said ‘older’ not ‘old.’ Like 30s, 40s.

I would counter that by saying there’s a difference between the men who want to sleep with you and the men who want to marry you. Let’s take the stereotypical college girl as an example, sure she is surrounded by ‘options’ and can go to frat parties every week and take a guy home just by blushing at him, but each year that passes a pool of younger women enter the market. What if she gets to her late twenties with no man and wants to settle down. Will mr law degree and a mortgage choose her or th…

But who are those young women competing for? Older, higher status men who can provide security, stability and protection because they know that they can’t hold out forever. Like I said, biology is reality.
