He's not as smart as he thinks -- Just the first link from googling "intelligence men vs women", and I thought it was funny and typical.

I do wonder why more straight men don't just decide to shack up with another straight guy just for companionship, and have sex with women when horny. Straight men seem to socially like other men a LOT, just no sex, please. I guess they'd miss out on the whole emotional-relationship-with-women thing too.

I find arguing with ideologues exhausting, in general. Not that I'm free from being wrapped up in my own. I think your example is frustrating...it got tiresome to read through the whole thing.

This helps me to understand the concept, or rather, remember that I should be as tolerant for the diversity of opinion in this sub-reddit as for any other sub-group, when I wouldn't otherwise have been inclined to do so. Thanks. (ugh, did that even make sense??)

Look, maybe your mom is lying. But just consider that she might not be. It is possible. Your father may have tried something with you when you were too young to remember. Were your parents married? How long if so? He may have been really fucked up and now he is better, along with the not drinking. You said he has no official visiting rights, so that makes me think that whatever settlement happened, something really serious caused that. I don't think it often happens that men get no visiting righ…

Stop a moment and think about this. You are the reason that people like me exist. You are the ever-present violent animal, that people like me are ALREADY AFRAID OF. I've had to deal with your type for my entire life. I've learned well. Don't fool yourself internet tough guy, threatening me using text. You know nothing about my size, my ability, my carrying status, or my own rage. You have no idea how it would turn out. And even if you succeeded in harming me, you would be sent to prison, and us…

Thank you, that was very kind of you, and I really appreciate that.

I suppose I shouldn't respond if you're just a troll, but if you honestly feel that way about me I'm very sorry. You probably are justifiably angry for how you've been treated in some way. You are kind of correct that I'm the enemy, I'm trying to change now. The 'rejected' statement you made would have hurt me a lot once (even from a stranger), but I'm used to that kind of shit now, so if you're just trying to hurt me, that was a sort of dribbling misfire. Good luck and sorry again. (and I didn'…

Sorry, I just don't really get what you're question is? I don't think really think in terms of 'sins'. If a guy is an asshole, I don't think I'm wrong in disliking him. I'm just saying that I deal with men all of the time and I treat almost all of them as untrustworthy, potentially violent, hateful, sexist, anti-gay, dishonest, dishonorable, emotionally broken/retarded, hypocritical, etc, etc. I realize intellectually that that isn't going to be always true, and accept that plausibly it isn't tr…

I re-read that last post and realized it was pretty defeatist and I left it on a poor note. I don't want to just 'accept' my bigotry and leave it at that. That doesn't do anything. I think the safest way for me will be to try to connect to men online only, read up on men's rights issues and try to understand their point of view in that way. I will probably never be able to have a close male friend in real life, I'm too weirdly broken, but I can stop adding to the negativity by understanding thos…

Thank you. That is probably very good advice, but I imagine I may never really follow through with that. I think a big part of my dislike is a type of sour grapes. I've been rejected by men so much, that I just expect rejection, and reject them first. And I pretty much suck at, and hate sports. I was good at soccer and wrestling and tennis as a kid, but I severely lost interest as...well I don't know why exactly. I know that later on I was the guy who was chosen last, and didn't have fun, and wa…

Basically because I pretty much hate (mostly straight) men. I've not really ever thought about it as 'hate' so much, just justified distrust and disappointment with how most males just naturally are. I don't think most people like to think of themselves as irrational bigots, but I guess I've been questioning my default response and how it isn't fair to others and isn't healthy, really for me. Not sure why I'm accepting it now. It probably has something to do with all of the beautiful stories on …

That's funny, I do feel like a 'treasonist'. I'm kind of embarrassed for talking about this cause I would die if any of my friends found out. I think I'd be accused of being a whiney male with daddy issues. Ugh, maybe I am.

I'm wondering why you got downvotes here. Anyway, I tend to think of myself as different from 'dumb old straight males' because I'm gay, and because I'm an 'enlightened' male. Not saying that's right, just that I didn't see it as self-hatred.

Sorry, my first time posting. I mostly just lurk with my main account. I thought that I should be brief. But I probably should have written more detail. Please see some of my comment replies for more details.

The societal anti-male bigotry is so pervasive that I had never really noticed it. It simply made sense to me and I agreed with the ridicule of men and didn't really think of it applying to me since I'm gay. "I'm not like those stupid, fat, ignorant straight boys that they're denigrating" "And they're right about all those stupid men." You'll have to elaborate a little though; how exactly did you come to this realization? Slow process over years. Hate feels good, they say it eats you up, and may…

You are right about the not-typical guy part. I am gay, and am somewhat effeminate. I wasn't raised in a feminist household, though. My mother was a typical old-fashioned stay-at-home mom. She cooked, cleaned, and was always there for us. Without more information all I can do is guess. Tell us more about you. I guess I am more of a 'generalist/experience' bigot, rather than raised or indoctrinated that way. I'm sure culture was part of it, but I wasn't taught to hate men by my mother or sisters.…
