At some point you must have been a good option for her though if she was sleeping with or dating you before. Also I feel like if she got to know you, and lost interest because she didn’t like what she saw, she won’t come back even if she has zero options

I don’t agree that it’s dumb, when i go out feeling confident people feed off that energy and i get completely different results. When i’m feeling unattractive it’s like they sense it and that can easily turn into a self fulfilling prophecy. The problem is keeping the confidence consistently, but it really works

If you figure it out let me know, i’ve been dealing with this for a while too. I’m fairly certain it’s because they have self esteem issues and they’re looking for validation, or they’re at a point in their life where they’re emotionally disconnected because of a past relationship/heartbreak. A few other things that they all had in common is every one of them has slept with me on the first meet up and had no hangs up about sex, which isn’t bad at all, but i got the sense that they were using sex…

It wasn’t condescending. Thank you for taking the time to help me out. A lot of what you said really resonates with me and you make a lot of good points, i really appreciate it especially since i don’t really have anyone to talk to about this. I’m figuring it out without any real guidance. I’ve noticed people i know using cliffhangers especially in texting, maybe it’s on purpose or subconsciously but it leaves you wondering, so i get that and in think it can come across as manipulative depending…

Thanks man. I just have one more question, it’s something that i haven’t fully grasped yet regarding attraction because i see so many conflicting opinions. How much of her attraction was based on my behavior/confidence vs. my looks? In this particular case her ex-boyfriend wasn’t very attractive, but we did have similar features, and i think that’s why she liked me or used me as a placeholder in the first place. But i’m a pretty good looking guy according to women i’ve dated and just random comm…

Thanks that’s great advice! Thank you. I was asking because she was interested and very invested during the beginning and then it waned after about two months. That’s why i was asking what it was, since it was a drastic change and now i feel like i’m not good enough somehow and it’s affecting my dating life

Makes sense. I wonder what it was in my case.

What are the qualifications for a placeholder? I’m curious because from personal experience why chose to hook up and hang out with me for months, especially if she has options. Is it basically just being “good enough”? Sorry i’m new to this and still figuring it all out

I’ve been in this situation many times and people have told me it’s basically because they weren’t attracted to you or like you. But it’s confusing because why spend all that time with me and sleep with me. And i’m having trouble understanding if they were just kinda lukewarm from the start and nothing could have changed that or the needy/unconfident behavior caused them to lose attraction. Sometimes i feel like could’ve just basically been any random dude that showed interest in her and she use…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
