Panamá border is hard. Nicaragua border is the one. For every country I go I have a exit plan. The thing is, you still have a passport? Or they took it from you? Also you need CASH and move out of the border zone after crossing. Is not easy. My cousin made it. Managed to get back to USA all by land. The fool married in Costa Rica

Wow, you found the country... My cousin left by the Nicaragua border. But had to cross the river in a canopy by night and cannot come back. There is also debtor jail. So better you pay the alimony... You have to consult a local lawyer everywhere you go. A good one. A interview with a lawyer would seem like wasted money but is not in the long run. Also join the local expat community. Ask them questions, specially the problems they have found.

You do lots of stuff. Just not for other people. Now I'm fighting hard for a parking lot permit. Going to lawyers, accounting, etc. But you do In your own terms and time. For example Monday I have to sign paperwork. The lawyer will come. I sign. He seals it and goes to the municipality to do more paperwork. I manage my business. For retirement I mean not commuting every day in the bus to a gray office and saying "yes boss" every day. I own my own time. And specially, avoiding a daily commute is awesome.

You open a corporation in Bahamas, Panama, Paraguay, etc and with that corporation you buy assets. A woman could sue you for the shares of the corporation, if she knows about it. Would be hard to do.
