Leave a cheater, gain a life. Chump Lady is the best resource for cutting through infidelity bullshit.

Being considerate. I have talked to dozens of men on various apps in the last year and their collective sense of entitlement is sickening. The one I'm most invested in is different. For example, when I told him I was into a certain trashy TV show, he replied that it wasn't his thing and hoped that wasn't a dealbreaker FOR ME. Whereas every other male, including my XH, would have said it was a dealbreaker FOR THEM if they didn't like it. Small difference that means a lot.

I will never judge a woman for reacting any kind of way to abuse. Yes, it's better to enforce boundaries, go no contact, and leave the abuse - not out of fear of male judgement, but for your own emotional wellbeing and protection. And who cares how men perceive you, honestly? Fear of male judgement is just another way for them to police and control female behaviour. Anger and grief are normal and healthy reactions to abuse. Men and pickmes will try to guilt you for it.

Even if you aren't crazy, they'll still portray you that way in order to push their agenda. My XH accused me of keying his car after his affair came to light. Despite the fact I didn't know where he lived, hadn't spoken to him in months, and was taking care of our two-year old full-time. Come on, son, let's hop in the car and go fuck your dad's shit up!

I blocked him soon after he left, but he has definitely been peddling that narrative in person. People see through him. There is dignity in silence. Speak your truth quietly and clearly. At the end of the day, I have to be able to live with myself. It's been a tough year but I've done my absolute best to act on principle rather than emotion. I sleep peacefully at night and have no regrets. In the grand sum of my life, this has been just a chapter. It might be the most significant, it might not. …

Yes. Some other choice phrases uttered by XH after he walked out to illustrate this fact: "The only thing I care about is my own happiness." "I know I'm not doing what's best for our son but I have to do what's best for me." "I feel so free and spontaneous now!" "I'll come and see him two mornings a week because that's when I have the most fun with him." When I told him the baby had a febrile seizure: "Aw, bud. Alright, I'm heading out." When I asked him for help with the baby when I was nearly …

Lundy Bancroft's book is the most illuminating thing I have read in my entire life. Highly recommend.

Real. My XH left me one week after I started medication for PPD/A. I had suffered for 15 months with several suicidal breakdowns. Turns out this was due in large part to his inability to empathise with my struggles and his increasingly obvious distaste for fatherhood and family life. Funny, that. He prioritised video games over everything and had an affair with a 21yo coworker. Told me I was a nice person and family-oriented but he didn't want to deal with my illness any more. Oh, and I was lazy…

Would bet dollars to donuts that this girl was the OW in this situation and that's why the ex-wife wants nothing to do with her. Source: am the ex-wife in a similar situation.
