This is true. I believed that hiding my sexuality was the coolest way to attract it. Stupid idea really. But then I could always claim that I wasn't interested anyways.

Excellent. I'm not at all comfortable with saying no. It feels really hard and dangerous right in the moment when you say it, but generally, in my experience, it has felt amazing afterwards; I have gotten what I wanted + I've stood my ground.

Not sure. I doubt my physical stature has got the potential to appear threatening. But maybe it's due to my mindset, and it's accompanying expression in posture and face.

Excellent! Clearly defined alternatives. Thank you!

Correct. Not what I intended to do though. Are you going to call me weak without describing what strength I lack? I am sincere in my wish to be educated.

Exactly. I think of myself as harmless, and I would say that my reaction to her violence is an expression of my belief in a harmless world. If you don't see a man in me, do you have any suggestions about where he can be?

Somewhere in between. Normal looking girl dressed "normal-beautiful" for a night out. She was wearing an everyday jacket, covering what I assume was weekend party clothes. Her pants were rather fabulous, along with pretty shoes. Her hair and makeup was also styled beautifully...

You're quoting a comment made on my post; not my words. I'm afraid for a similar reason though. Probably, to you, equally laughable. The book explains how nearly everyone fails to adhere to moral values under pressure of strong authority. That's what I fear. It's a realization of my weakness, I would say. A realization which provides a strong ground and motivation for building strength. I fully admit my weaknesses — but I don't see how it would inspire, or explain the woman's behavior. It would …

I agree, my behavior was odd, and that's the aspect of the woman's reaction I have sympathy for. It was a cable car, not a bus.

I'm supposing she was from my neighborhood — Gamlestaden — since we got off at the same stop. And no, she looked perfectly "normal" to me. Blonde hair, very regular type of clothes. She and her friend looked very similar. Both wore good looking clothes and were very good looking in general.

Oh please. Thank you for your protection, but you misunderstood me. Perhaps I wasn't clear, but I was applying what I theorize her thoughts to be, to the situation. I basically and arrogantly applied the theory of feminism, as if it was her thoughts, and asked if it corresponded correctly to your observations.

Beautifully put. But the breaking of tension is quite an adventure as well, though scary.

I think she wished to provoke me to violence. I've never practiced violence towards strangers. I wouldn't dare, i think. If it would have escalated, I would of course have defended myself to the best of my ability.

Known triggers for FADD: young men jumping on one foot on public transportation late at night.

I could look her in the eyes while we were speaking, after her first insults, and perhaps I hope too much, but I saw sense in her. She seemed neither to be under the influence, nor mental illness. It seemed like an anger tantrum or aggressive impulse.

Thank you for the comment. I also think that I broke a social rule, and that this was my punishment. It seems like what she expressed, was the value she has given this specific rule. When I stepped on the cable car, a guy tried to pass through these two women as they sat blocking the isle with their legs. He pressed his leg against theirs multiple times but then resorted to step over them. Super childish behavior. I was tempted to ask them, why they were clogging up the river like beavers. But I…

Ok. So, if this was how she thought; would the attention I received, correspond with being successful? And would that mean I am oppressing for receiving it?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
