2	Talking to strangers What I’ve come to find is that you shouldn’t think of your ego as something you destroy. It’s better, to me, to reference the ego when it is threatened. If I notice something hurting my ego, i try not to beat myself up for feeling bad. Just say fuck it because nobody cares about bruised egos. 1	How do you answer the "What do you do for a living?" question if want you do is low-status? My advice would be get a job either washing dishes, as a line cook, or waiting tables. All of those would give you bettter skills then a retail job. Keep looking for something better, obviously, but it will give you change of pace in the meantime.
