I'm sorry you had such a stressful childhood. I can relate in many ways. But, I thought we were talking about grown men as that was what you wrote. I feel like you've changed the goalposts now. To be about non-priviliged children instead. So which one is it? Therapy isn't only about discipline and it's not paying someone to just listen to you while you vent either. It's working through things, getting to know yourself truly, unlearning trauma responses etc, and it's hard work. Discipline is valu…

Armchair psychoanalysis. You answering like that is an attempt to deflect and also form of social manipulation. It is what it is, factually. Wether you feel like agreeing or not. How is it impossible to go outside in a populated city and just pick up a natural 3-ounce gold nugget on the roadside? Answering with irrelevant metaphors doesnt make any sense. Good luck with that mindset and those tactics. Im out. Bye bye

Me delivering a thought experiment to further the discussion is not me being triggered what so ever. It's an attempt to shine a light on nuances and common ground. If someone presents an argument they should expect debate and not just agreement. Debate isn't for one side to win either, it's for both parties (and everyone in between) furthering their understanding of each other/ the subject. Perhaps you are triggered by not receiving total control and say over something though. And are projecting…

So, you are saying that mindset is wrong and yet you display it yourself. Strange. Are you also saying that you can only determine if a woman is good based on the fact that another man is with her? Please explain how you came to the conclusion that it's basically impossible to choose a good woman and also how that is not telling of your attitude towards women overall and then how that doesn't affect how you interact with women and still expect a good outcome but don't get one.

When you say sports are a privilige, are you speaking for handicapped people? Gyms are not the only way to work out. There are plenty of ways of working out without having access to a gym. Lift things at home, do yoga, run, situps pushups etc can be done at home too. There's outdoor gyms in some places. You can hike. Buy a basketball, swim in a lake, the list is long and in case of handicap then access to a gym won't make any difference. Handicaps vary a great deal but if you are saying that a h…

I think you missed my point and instead chose selectively to prove some other point, without context. By doing this you are trying to deflect, consciously or not. desperately hope that the good woman's husband will eventually betray her or perish in an accident You don't see anything wrong with this mindset? ^

How is wishing someone you want to be with to experience an absolute life-changing sorrow equal to love? That's just sick and sounds like you have a confused saviour complex. If you truly love someone, I mean truly, then you aren't possessive to the point of wanting and needing that person to experience hell so that you can get a chance to swoop in and prey on their vulnerability

Curious. Let's humor your theories. You say that female groupies and their behaviour is indicative of them having a personality disorder. Then what does that make of the typical musician that frequently sleeps around, often times self medicates to the point of substance abuse? and almost compulsively seeks validation via their art?

Why are you arguing semantics and thus straying away in an instance from your original arguing points? This is a form of deflection and actually something many folks with personality disorders do.

Interesting. I for one have never had the notion that the act or ability to comfort is masculine. Now that I think about it I might have been conditioned to think quite the opposite actually. Even to this day there's still a general notion/norm that the mother archetype is more emotionally available while the father archetype is more rigid and rough. I don't agree with such generalizations though as I've had different experiences going both ways. I think it's a human thing to comfort. I've never…

I mean.. I'm a woman that lost my best friend to suicide at a very young age and while I was processing losing basically my sister when we were only eighteen, the boyfriend I was with flat out yelled at me when I finally cried one day. He shrieked "get over her already!!!!!!!" My baseline is that I very rarely cry so it wasn't like I was emotionally needy and he got frustrated because of that. Does that mean that most men would do that? No. Because it's not a gender-thing. That dude had a person…

Op said that the girl didn't refer to the crying as a reason for breaking up. That's their own assumption and nothing else.

You got all the tips you needed but you put on your bitter-glasses instead of your understanding-glasses when you read them Maybe try taking of those bitter-glasses when you are interacting with women aswell.

When i was around 20 i met a true psychopath that was 7 years older than me and tricked me into concieving a child with him. How do you think the last ten years have been?

LOL do you know how many women report that their sexdrive/life started after menopause though? It's the transition phase that is though for some but that will at most last a couple of years. I think you should worry about wether your peepee will start leaking or drooping instead.

Yeah. Thats just weird. I know it's somewhat a social norm in some social groupings still, but things are changing. Just because it has been a norm doesnt mean that it's good, you know? Why brag about using young and naive people half your age? That's predatory behaviour and it's not hard either. Also it smells looser, not winner. Like dude, you are so intellectually/emotionally challenged that you couldn't get someone around your own age? Please don't be like your friends.

So what you are saying is that a man who doesn't want a child can protect himself and the woman with a condom and everything is fine. And if a woman doesn't want a baby and either don't have access to birth control or can't take it for medical reasons then she might have to go through a horrible experience both mentally and physically, live with that decision forever and be all alone in that accountability

I think is balance is key. It's good to not overshare and sort of guard yourself in case you are dating a covert sociopath or the like, and it's good to not weigh on people to much. But in a way I feel like it's unfair to not let that person know you are going through something, aswell, as it can affect you and that person negatively. If the other person knows about it they would have a chance of understanding and be able to support. But you don't have to give details. You can test by giving a l…

Well no, maybe not in the beginning stages of dating but as it develops it should be natural to be able to. But i get that it's not an easy thing, it hasn't been for me either. There are some bad apples and there are some good ones.

I mean being open an vulnerable is essential for personal development and contact and growth in a relationship so either you had the bad luck of meeting patriarchal and toxic individuals or your perception of openness and vulnerability is unbalanced.

Im so sorry about that. This was neither because she is a woman or because you are a man. Sometimes people are just ill equipped to handle things. Sometimes they are just stupid and mean. Its not a male/female thing . That person was just the wrong person and you were unlucky. I've been in your shoes, im a woman who lost her best friend to suicide though. I think its really hard for people that havent lost someone to relate and understand. But that does of course not mean that it's okay to be ou…
