Japan has the highest suicide (or close to the highest) because there is so much pressure to get a good job and make your family name strong. They aren't the same type of "honor in battle, win or sepuku" honor anymore, but bringing respect to your family name by getting a good job and being a "salaryman" is very much a point of honor in their culture.

This hits so hard for me. I work 60 hurs a week as a diesel technician for a garbage company. I fix trash trucks for a living monday through friday 10am to 9pm plus 5 hours on Saturday. I hate my job and would love to be able to use my GI Bill to get myself an education since she just finished her bachelor's, but she refuses to even look for a job. I'm half tempted to just quit and do it just to put a fire under her ass but then I would be on the street within a month. I hate it.

Not really the same, but similar; in the US Army, women are allowed to use and umbrella when it is raining but men are not. As long as that umbrella is black and doesn't have a pattern or logo.

An opinion from a vacuum: The first one may be worded that way because men have been applying for that for a while. So they say that others are encouraged. It doesn't say that only those people can apply. The second one makes sense because men sonetines walk around without a shirt in hot weather. Women don't typically do that. Im sure if a woman cam in topless she would be asked to put a shirt on as well. That last one is plain sexism. Why is it "men preventing men" instead of "people preventing…

No. If you believe that PEOPLE should have equal rights to other PEOPLE than you are a HUMANIST. Why is it so one sided? It was actually my wife who convinced me that we wont be circumsizing our (yet to be comcieved) son. And with the simplest logic. Her: "Why?" Me: "Because I am and I think my dad is." Her: "you wanna match?" Me: "saying it like that seems creepy." Her: "cutting your son's penis is creepy. And painful. And causes so many avoidable issues." Me: "I guess you are right. Nevermind then." To be fair though I didnt really feel very strongly one way or the other in the first place.
