Until I told him that she had admitted to cheating/being in an 'open relationship'. It's all about appearances for the man... Like WS looked good defending his wife (appropriate) but then WS looked bad for having a 'wild/cheating' wife (bad for the man/inappropriate). I don’t know where to start with your comment, I will just say that there is no established causal relationship because this data necessarily is all cross-sectional and paste and retrospective recall. we can’t rule out the idea that people who had bad childhoods might be pre-disposed toward more negative recall styles of what happened to them.
