what is =/= what should be

That may be, however I doubt they are equal and thus a parallel graph should be shown compensating for even a small difference.

If there is any truth to the stereotype that women crave attention a lot more, than it would explain the tripled number of suicide attempts, many of them probably being cries for attention. If this is the case, it is expected that only about 1/3 of suicide attempts are actual attempts. It would also further mean that the suicide rate of males compared to this smaller (and probably more realistic) figure is about 1.3 times higher.

I suspect the misunderstanding (which is only pretend for some) is caused by the lack of any nuance of gender equality in the word 'feminism'... it sounds too much like it only cares about one gender. I prefer 'egalitarianism'. If you think that's a mouthful, i'm open to new ideas. But I would point out it's hard to criticize someone calling themselves that. Oh, she's just a filthy egalitarian. All these egalitarians say they want equal rights, but they really want rights for themselves! doesn't…

Evolutionarily speaking, we are virtually all descendant from alpha males. I think the thing the article writer means to criticize is the fact that girls and women tend to find attractive traits that are not always conducive to being a productive member of society. But I would argue men engage as much in this as females. I don't see the article complaining about men who marry young good looking women instead of smart not-so-hot ones who do contribute to society as doctors, lawyers and so on. The…

I agree, and there's also the case where the male might willfully not want to know whether it's actually his. But it should be the default position to take the paternity test because females have the inherent advantage of knowing with 100% certainty that the child is theirs, males do not. This would be sexually discriminatory but only in the direction of increasing equality. I find this as a test case very interesting - what percentage of children are born from another male than the one who's go…

Considering that one of the crimes people were convicted of by the Special Tribunal at Nuremberg was rape was it rape between a husband and his wife, with a standing law stating a husband cannot be accused of raping his wife? If not I doubt it's relevant. you believe rape of a woman by her husband should be legal. Rape in any form is despicable and everything possible should be done to prevent it. What I do believe is that emotions should not dictate how we enforce laws, and rushed vengeful retr…

The bum example was to exemplify a moral standing which we find today acceptable, but future generations probably will not. You're making the presumption of "Rape" despite the fact that whether it was or not rape is the subject of discussion here. Is it rape if you sign a contract which specifically says that you relinquish your sexual consent? Can such a consent be given away in a contract? That is the question, and for the reasons stated above the answer should be carefully considered. As per …

If there were a law saying you may pass a bum without helping him, and everyone did that, and decades later a law was passed saying that you may not pass a bum without helping him, would it be Okay for you to go to jail because you didn't do the moral thing in the past? Morally speaking it's not Okay, even today, to pass people who need help without helping them, but there's no law for it. Future generations will have higher moral standings, we would all stand guilty if judged by them today. If …

Consider the following statement from the very beginning of the article The High Court in 1991 said it was no longer common law that by getting married a wife gave irrevocable consent to sexual intercourse with her husband, he said. But before that, it was common law. Law enacted and enforced by society. She was aware of this contract when she decided to sign the marriage contract. The only way to find the man guilty is to find that sexual consent cannot be given away. Just like there were cases…

Assuming he did rape her, it should be put within the context of the time in which it happened. Society gave him a clean pass to force his wife into sex. When the wife signed the marriage agreement she agreed, per the laws of that day, to permanently consent to sexual intercourse with her husband. It is unfortunate, and the guy is a fucktard regardless of the outcome, but things should be analyzed carefully before deciding. Applying laws retroactively will also open pandora's box in terms of law…

A list of men who would not be believed if accused of sexual misconduct. That will end well too.

There should be a sexual-manipulators list, like there is a sexual-predator list. There should be equal risk - if she proves her case the man goes on the list for life, otherwise she goes on the list. I think men will be very careful in engaging with women on such a list.

So the powerful trade unions, women’s groups and successive governments looked for ways to tweak parental leave and change men’s behaviour and employers’ attitudes. So women's groups fighting for equal rights... for men. Sounds nice.

Look at http://www.govspark.org.uk/detail/ and http://www.govspark.org.uk/map/ before criticizing. I think they're pretty respectable for a 16 year old programmer. The former is even animated and the source cod is very organized. It uses jQuery and other open-source software. Finally it has real-world usage for many people, which could / should matter more than sheer code complexity. There does seem to be a bug on http://www.govspark.org.uk/competition/ as it doesn't show the numbers on the last…

Your point is completely valid, but those physical differences are not the criteria for qualifying (edit: for being accepted as a worthy winner actually) in the race, but gender. There are high-endurance females out there, and low-endurance males. If you sort all the humans by physical endurance males will dominate the high-end, and women the low end, but it will also have high granularity and variance at all levels. The gender-endurance correlation is pretty strong, but only useful over large a…

The death sentence operation is also (somewhat) non-traumatic today, compared to what it used to be. Shouldn't stop people from criticizing the practice.

I call bullshit on the implied assumption in the title that a list that was "the other way around" would be so unusual: google "men better than women" - About 261,000 results google "women better than men" - About 58,000 results And for the latter, the second result reads "hahahaha, women better than men! The only reason why bitches even have rights is cause we allowed them to. Big mistake on our part. ..."

Even more important is what percentage of false rape reports end up with the accused going to jail. What is the statistical ratio of innocent men jailed / guilty men who got away with it?

One solution to this problem would be to give the same time off given to the woman to the man. This way social disparage disappears, men get equal time off, women don't have to worry about mentioning wanting to conceive because men would have to do the same since they get time off too. Everyone wins. Except, of course, gay couples, and single people.

"Children from fatherless homes account for 63% of youth suicides." These statistics don't clarify whether they compensate for percentage of fatherless homes out of total. For example, if 80% of homes without a parent are fatherless, and 20% are motherless, and 63% of youth suicides in houses without a parent are fatherless, that means 42% [(63%/80%) / (37%/20%)] of youth suicides can be correlated to being fatherless, and 58% to being motherless. It's only normal that, since there are so many f…

Yeah, but you can also tell if you have a close and comfortable relationship if you both share honestly and emotionally. That shows the basic difference in mentality between man and women. For practical thinkers (read: men), it's reduced to practicalities like actual surveillance. For emotional slaves (read: women) it's reduced to an emotional survey of the subject. <continues to ignore the misandric fuckwits here>
