Can you recommend some source(s), specifically for the inadvertent effects? 1	False sex assault reports not as rare as reported, studies say While I'm not suggesting that your wife's cousin is necessarily wrong, I'd like to point out a reason why law enforcement officers might perceive an alledged rape victim as being untrustworthy. This was something that came up when it was discussed (and decided, I believe) that the police's interrogation practice and attitude towards alledged rape victims should be changed in my country.
