I want to play devil's advocate. You are coming from a very modern perspective. Back in the old days, people led more chaste lives and women were expected not to sleep with men before marriage. Obviously stuff happened but generally people were way less promiscuous before the sexual revolution, contraception, etc. So my question is: if you're saying that to have a decent relationship today you must sleep with multiple women first, what do you make of relationships back then? Okay, maybe I am unusual, but am I the only guy who doesn't really like it when girls approach him? I do like it when they make their interest known in a very subtle way - a look, glance, giggle, whatever - but when they outright try to pick me up, it feels weird. A little part of me thinks, "What's wrong with this chick that she's approaching guys? Why doesn't she have enough guys approaching her that she doesn't need to do that?"
