Assuming your partner won't attempt to maim you makes you a dumbass? Hello?

Even if you tagged it as (IMHO) "not even touching ACTUAL muscle growth until they're at least 6 months in" is incredibly wrong

It's the same guy, I should have used the same wording. He wants nothing to do with the gym which is fine but it also probably had something to do with it.

With the exception of your unnecessary stereotyping of "roided gymbros" I have to agree with you. I'm a competitive powerlifter and one of my good friend's girlfriends asked me to help her learn to lift. I didn't mind the company because she mainly stayed out of the way until I finished when I would tell her what to do. Well a couple weeks go by and she basically stops going, I ask my buddy why she stopped going and apparently she "tried but couldn't do it anymore because it was too hard" mind y…

Sub-optimal doesn't mean impossible, it's possible to make gains on keto but it's significantly slower than if you weren't.

competing in natural BB comps does not make you natural by a long shot, part of the problem with natural BBing in general IMO

Why can't all these chemicals be testosterone precursors so everyone would get huge instead of everyone becoming feminine

To be honest this woman isn't even doing starting strength "but sometimes I add five pounds on each side if I feel like it. " Starting strength is a great beginners routine but any changes she saw could have happened significantly faster if she just followed the actual routine.

But then were not catering to their victim complexes. Also reminds me of the feminist belief you shouldn't have to teach girls to say no

It was confirmed total BS because she said she was at a show that never happened... Not sure how there can be any inkling of her telling the truth

Exactly, you basically summed up everything I was trying to say much more eloquently heh

I may be an outlier but hear me out, I know all about the whole "lift for yourself and not women" speech that gets thrown around practically every fitness community, the basis for that is mainly the fact that if you end up "lifting for grills" your motivation directly hinges on getting more attractive for women, and from my experience of seeing people try and fail to "get big" based around lifting weights to increase their attractiveness is the main fact that lifting for women is not a sustainab…

WHITE PRIVILEGE so by your logic if someone has it better than you are you not allowed to be happy?
/r/PussyPass07/07/14 04:57 PM

obviously not, but that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it

I train at my university's gym which for a school of 40,000+ students is kind of surprising not seeing anyone beat my deadlift which is 570lbs. It feels good in a way but I also wish I had more people to talk to about powerlifting.

It really is kind of a let down being the "strongest" person I'm aware of at my gym, not trying to toot my own horn but it would really be nice to have people to look up to and impart their experience rather than just relying on the internet. Such is life in a city without any black iron gyms I suppose.

if only this weren't true, finding a good powerlifting gym is nigh impossible due to every gym owner buying into the "fitness club" business model

don't listen to a single thing elliot hulse says outside of his basic strength training videos, he's gone off the deep end into some weird metaphysical stuff

"average to jacked in 6 weeks" sorry, but moderate lifting around a restaurant isn't going to do that in 6 weeks, especially while "losing 10% bodyfat"

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
