You're very welcome! I made some of my best friends from the community that continue to this day. One of the many things I loved about our NY crew was that most were very smart, open minded, positive, adventurous and doing interesting things. When I went to Montreal I met Mystery's old friend No. 9 who helped him hash out the basics of MM. He was an engineer, math nerd, focused and also very funny. I grew a greater appreciation of Mystery after that because I saw how much they both enjoyed break…

Very true, IMS. I used to tell my wingmen, "I don't want to be walking around with a cane at 60 years old asking girls, 'who lies more?' at a bar." There's nothing wrong with only having short-term relationships, but I know at some point, most guys will want to do the whole get-married-and-have-kids routine as well...just like many of the old gurus did. Well said, and thanks for the feedback!

I agree, it's a balance. And you have to find that balance yourself in each relationship.

I love Stoicism. Ever since I first stumbled on it, it just seemed to elegantly explain a lot of life's paradoxes. My first book was A Guide to the Good Life by William Irvine... and I never looked back. :-)

Good for you for trying to be honest. I think it's easy to be honest when you say "there are many ways to connect in a relationship...physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally...etc" and that it's rare to connect on all levels. But it takes time to find out. So I always take it one day at a time without expectations and if things keep going well, then the connection gets stronger and monogomy happens naturally. If that's not their style then just let them go. But if you only deal with girls…

Well said. :-) I might go further and say it also involves what's not being said. IOW hiding anything that's an important part of you.

Hey Cajun, What are some of the most popular attitudes or gambits in the community that actually work really well for short-term pick up but you've found can be destructive and detrimental to long-term relationships? Thanks, Marco

Wide rapport is connecting on various topics superficially. We both like cats, we like sports, we like exercise. Deep rapport is about connecting on single topics beyond the superficial, on a values level. We like exercise because being healthy is the most important thing. It's not about looking good although it helps! It's about quality of life and the energy to put everthing you can into your relationships, your work and lasting memories. It's about WHY those things are important to you and he…

Ok if you're not aware of logistics that explains a lot. Logistics is anything about the environment that supports or interferes with your connection. An example of ideal logistics is her bedroom or yours. She feels safe, it's private and you can have sex or talk without interruption. An example of bad logistics is being at a loud bar, with a bunch of her guy friends and far away from a safe, private location along with lots of interruptions. You could have either invited yourself into her place…

You escalated too fast without the proper logistics. If there's no connection established beyond the physical, why shouldn't she just go for the next attractive guy? After all, she's all turned on and ready for action. But you failed to deliver the goods because you were under the assumption you had to go back to courtship before proceeding on the "date". If you really like the girl, then next time establish more of a connection. If you don't care for a connection beyond the physical, then next …

Mystery would say create wide rapport. Something about you she knows where she can call her friends about and say "I like him because XYZ" and why those things are important to her. If your connection is mostly physical, she'll feel like a slut. Also qualifying her more along the way. Like Riker's 3 rules about sex (1. must wear a condom, 2. Must be something you both really want or you prefer to wait and 3. Must be something you can both feel like you can look back on the next day and forever a…

If there's anything well-proven about arousal and desire it's that it's learned. Evolution has only given us a handful of instincts and the rest is conditioning. Animals don't have foot fetishes, enjoy phone sex or need negging in order to procreate. These are human preferences and there are many. Women can be attracted in many ways, but you can choose how to attract her. And more importantly, you can also choose why. Blindly following false dogma limits you and not only leads to over-reliance o…

So my question is are you clear on why you like her and the qualities she's bringing to the table? Do you share this with her early on? If you're both on the same page, it'll improve the willingness to keep that connection. But just because you have chemistry doesn't mean you're compatible. Even with a strong connection, logistics can dominate the dynamic so mitigate what you can on your side and screen for someone with good logistics on her side. It doesn't matter if you got a hot girl who's a …

Thanks for the feedback. I'm definitely NOT arguing it's a logical choice, only that we have choice. Most of us choose subconsciously but we're not aware of it and that's my point. We have some tendencies and some of us have the opposite tendencies. For every example of attraction being hard wired, there's many counter examples to destroy it. It's up to us to choose logically if it's in our best interest. I'm not arguing that being logical is easy. I'll never argue logic is easy. And I'm not try…

Some good advice here, just wanted to add my 2 cents. Clarify what you're looking for. There's a balance to being open to a relationship and actively "looking" for a relationship. When you're looking for a relationship you're trying to fill a box (haaa, I said box). It creates long term expectations and they're the biggest killer of relationships, especially new ones. But when you're being open to a relationship, you take it day by day. And it means you're clear about the qualities you want from…
