No one cares about menSo true. Went through the akward cohabitation phase as well. Been separated for a year and the divorce is winding its way through the system. At the end of the road, after about a year, things do get better. There is a sense of freedom in making it on your own. The fact that no one comes to rescue you is beneficial, because you make your own way in your own space. I LOVE being single now, no one in my house, invading my space, disturbing my peace. I am alone but not lonely if that makes sense?!?… | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/10/25 09:48 AM
How long after divorce…Easier said than done. If you have time, money invested in a relationship and there are kids, not so easy | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/10/25 03:56 PM
How long after divorce…It’s not choosing a woman who want the intensity. Women get that intensity during courtship and the early stages of the relationship. Once that settles down and becomes comfortable, they crave the attention and starts ramping up the conflict. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/10/25 12:00 PM
How long after divorce…No, not just that, but women do change after marriage. Women connect emotionally, and when a marriage is stable and there is peace in the house, the emotional intensity is gone. Most women need the dopamine hit of emotional connection and will create conflict to get that intensity back, causing chaos. She does not care that it destroys peace, she gets what she needs. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/10/25 07:19 AM
Happier after divorceAbsolutely the freedom to do what you want. Also freedom from not carrying someone else’s emotional baggage. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/07/25 06:07 AM
Here is my divorce storyRuined is maybe overstating things a bit, but yes, lesson learnt. Fact is, after writing all of this down I really don’t want to see her ever again. Life, go figure… | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/12/24 05:41 PM
Here is my divorce storyLots, and in the end, of course, the relationship between the wire and kids are super strong. I tried really hard, been to countless football games on a Sunday morning, took them to watch football, played tennis and games and in the end, it’s like being with strangers. They still rather be with the biological father that walked out on them when they were 4 and 2 respectively. It’s fucked up and I will never date anyone with kids again. Ever. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/12/24 10:18 PM
Here is my divorce storyLet’s hope. This has made me want to avoid relationships. It’s like marriage to a just a bad deal for men in general I think. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/12/24 07:53 PM
Here is my divorce storyIt’s so obvious once you life through it. Min, hindsight, 20:20 and all that | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/12/24 06:47 PM
Here is my divorce storyYeah, not so sure in this case. It’s more of a case where she needed someone to sponsor her exit from SA and she was not willing to make any compromises. It felt like it was a situation where I came into an already established family dynamic that would not change or accommodate another ‘external’ party. To outnit bluntly, Fit In or Fuck Off | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/12/24 06:20 PM
Here is my divorce storySo right. As I wrote the post, I though so many red flags, so many signs that screamed run for the hills | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/12/24 05:48 PM
Here is my divorce storySo, I did sign a prenuptial. All my assets are protected. The kids are hers so no issue there. They are also almost grown up. I am also not responsible for any maintenance in accordance with the prenup. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/12/24 05:48 PM
Seek and destroy.I am going through a divorce at the moment. One thing I see a lot of are these types of posts, the guy being blindsided by the wife terminating the relationship. Posts and comments on how she is destroying what has been built and that there were the normal ups and downs throughout the years. However, what I do not see is any empathy for the wife. She is leaving us because the pain of staying is worse than the pain of leaving. A little honesty and self reflection is in order. I made peace with th… | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/09/24 05:03 PM
