1	Katherine Heigl hates balls. A throwback, but in light of the recent developments in body positivity. I think we can all agree that this was then and is now body shaming. i would again like to point out that this a joke about dogs being neutered BUT it does make a difference. she's not pointing at Jack, your good friend from down the street, and saying that HIS balls are bad because XYZ, she's making a joke about ALL of them being strange to her. I think you are missing the context of the video. Heigl is participating in a campaign to get pets fixed, so in order to advertise it she made a joking video about disliking balls. tits/plastic surgery is not an equivalent comparison, because pet plastic surgery is not really a thing. You know what would be a fair comparison? someone doing this about their dislike of ovaries. I would disagree because 1.) it's clearly a joke 2.) it's clearly exaggerated for comedic affect 3.) she's not shaming on specific balls, just balls in general. It would be like if someone made a (obviously joking) video about how fallopian tubes weirded them out cuz it looks like they've got fingers. Though I suppose one reason why there may have been more MtF trans people in the past is because of media representation. Even though it's horrid, paints them as evil, and are often mentioned in the actual media as not being actually trans, I can think of Psycho, Silence of the Lambs, and Rocky Horror that show what would more closely resemble MtF people today, but cannot recall as prominent FtM figures in media. -6	Why do you always hear "my body my choice"? Men can have an opinion, but it doesn't change the overall choice. That's why it's "my body my choice." I can respect that men might want the child, but the man is not the one who has to carry it and have their body go through all the associated pain, changes, and unpleasantness. And I do not want to alienate any men here, but it is why a lot of people with uteruses don't always weigh it heavily when men have opinions/make legislation on abortion, because they are NEVER in danger of needing one.…	/r/MensRights	14/08/21 11:30 PM
