You've reminded me of the old saying, "women are the same from 8 to 80".

Yes, I believe in karma, have witnessed its teeth for over 40 years now. My ex-wife thought she was going to ride off into the sunset with her married co-worker, whom she admitted to me that she loved. We were together 14 years, and married 12, with kids. In my case, karma was pretty quick, because after the affair was exposed to me by the OBS, AP dumped her, which took him getting physical with her to make his point. 40 years later, she has never remarried, and I know of no other BF in that tim…

Do women take classes on how to be ruthless, deceptive, and inhuman? I went through this evilness over 40 years ago, and I see not much has changed. So believe me when I say that this is not new! They listen to these jerks, the seductive wordsmith, and think they'll dump us and start a new family with a new daddy for our children. He'll use her as long as it doesn't get too serious, then dump her, even violently if necessary, like in my hard-headed ex-wife's case. Even had him around my kids. Sh…

Question: Did your ex work, and were your incomes close to equal? Or was she a SAHM or low income earner? The reason I ask is that the only reason my ex-wife and I had a not hostle divorce was because our incomes were close to equal, and so were our retirement accounts. We negotiated child support, and I continued health insurance for her and the kids until they graduated college, which I volunteered to do. Otherwise, if she had been a SAHM or earned a low income, I know she wouldn't hesitate to…

Even with 2 children, I 'entertained' women of different ages for 3 years after D-day. Some were single women and some single moms. I remarried a single mom when I was age 36. She's my heart, and we're still loving each other 37 years later.

"Like a scab that finally falls off. It'll just happen and won't be a big deal". How very true. I'll add that you may no longer feel it's pain, but you can still see the scar. My ex-wife and I were also virgins. I think you and other 'virgins' understand me when I say that this betrayal is more.

I'm sorry OP, but this is long. I think that the best advice is given by those with 'experience' in the matter or situation. Here’s mine. My ex-wife and I were teenagers who after high school got pregnant and married before the age of 20. We were married 12 years with kids, before she had an affair with her married coworker. They were ‘In Love’ and planned to leave their marriages, and ride off into the sunset, or so she thought. I was blindsided when I received the call from the OBS about the a…

As was I in my (decades ago) D-day time of betrayal, you are very young and desperately need the advice of older men who have gone through this and can call abuse when they see it. And man, is she abusing you. There have been some very good comments and advice that you should very well consider. I will continue making comments to your posts, but for now what you've written in previous posts, like an 'amicable divorce' and her wanting to be friends, preparing a family dinner, really suggests that…

God, thank you for saying this because it's sooo true! My very good friend wasted 4 additional years in false R. It's heartbreaking to see him going through this again, as if the first time wasn't enough.

Hey there, Apprehensive, I thought I recognized you. I'm glad you're doing okay and still here showing other BS common sense decision-making. I just used that word in another post. I live by it and have respect for who I am. There's so much loss in these senseless affairs, and the sad part is our nibbled brain wayward do not realize that it's going nowhere. It may fail days after D-day as was my ex-wife's case, or next year, or maybe 5 years from now. I tell them to grab some popcorn, sit back p…

Listen OP, I'm 70+ Old, and I went thru this way back in the 80s. I'm not going to comment on those suggesting you go to your daughter's birthday party, given by your cheating ex-wife, whom you divorced, her AP, family and friends. I'll give you my 'experienced' advice, which you can take it or leave it. I would get my daughter the best birthday gift that I can think of. It doesn't have to be expensive, but long-lasting and durable for memories of you and that day when she's older. Sometime afte…

OP, you are displaying low self-esteem and a defeatist attitude stemming from years of lack of affection and a DB. You admit to not being particularly an attractive person or popular. This is not an attractive look for your wife, or women in general. It's like smelling dead meat. Repulsive. While still together you need to change man. Look around. There are many unattractive men with wives, many are good looking women. Why is that? A lot of that is financial. A good job. Good health. But most me…

Married 12 years. I don't think you ever completely heal. It's like getting wounded or scarred. It doesn't hurt anymore, but you can still see the scar. You faintly remember the pain it caused, but it's numbed. It was part of my overall real-life experience, which I would not change. I've been very happy in my relationship and my marriage for over 37 years to a loving, faithful wife who I love dearly. It was 3 years after D-day, and I had a lot of catching up with the ladies in between. There we…

Nicely explained. You are very correct. Now, let us see how this BS will respond. Will his reality soon set in. Will he understand how much planning it took her to make this power move. He'd better listen to all these great comments and save himself. She's not done screwing with him!

Never leave your house where you're paying a mortgage or the rented apartment. My mistake was leaving the apartment and continuing giving her the rent money. She stopped paying the rent, saved the money for her new place, and trashed our apartment when she left. My paycheck was garnished by the company, and I had no idea why until I learned why after the fact. Expensive lesson. The second reason is that they can claim family abandonment, not a good look in divorce court. If she wants to be singl…

Jocko Wilkins on break up Thank you for this. I looked him up and found others also with the same conclusion about remaining friends with an ex; be nice and move on. Walk away. I did this and didn't have all the resources of today at my disposal back when. No Reddit or YouTube in the 80s. I grinded out my own struggles with mental health after betrayal. One of the comments he made in one of his videos that I see as true and frustrating to me in these subs is: "you can tell a man what he should d…

Old guy with over 40 years with this experience. Our kids were not yet teens when our marriage ended from her affair. We divorced, no R. We co-parented and my kids turn out great, with families of their own, and successful careers. To answer, do not, I repeat do not fall for the "still be friends" with your ex-wife. There are several reasons that I make this claim, but here are a few: 1) there are feelings involved for the spouse who is still in love, especially when a new relationship on either…

How so very true. "Once they (women) are done, they are done." It's hard for us men to understand until we realize that they've been done for a while, but just telling you. For them, it's old news (decision), but for you, it's something she's just sprung on you. 1) I do not want someone who doesn't want me. 2) I will not compete with another man for my own wife's love, which she's willing giving away. 3) Once she's made that decision, I will never take her back! I am not a fallback plan until th…

We men get our portions of confidence and self-esteem each time we Win! Losing weight is a win. Beating a chess game is a win. A woman flirting with you is a win. We take most 'wins' for granted, but I believe each helps build character, a growth in confidence that is projected from ones body. Male bearing, which has the shoulders back and head raised, shoes shined and finger nails cleaned. Good looks is a plus. Like I said, I married very young and was shy with almost no experience in interacti…

Actions speak louder than words but pay attention to both. She does this in your face while you care for the kids. She says that she loves Rehab Guy. That should be enough to rule out R. Listen to her. My Ex told me this and I'm so grateful that even though I wanted to try R (BS Love Fog), she knew it wouldn't work. "You would hold this forever over my head. I'm going with him. Why don't you go find somebody". Things didn't work out for her and her "love". He had to hit and choke her before she …

I'll be commenting on your other post, but for this, after D-day and the 3 years of dating prior to meeting my wife, I never dated any women older than me. I had that opportunity, but I fortunately had other options and wanted nothing serious. With my ex-wife and I dating in high school, I had no other experiences. I used this 3-year period to heal and "catch up". I was 35 at this time. I kinda thought I looked okay (my mom told me), but it was those other women who saw me doubting myself, and I…

"Work on yourself your career your physique. Focus on your kids and having fun with them and raising them right. And your free time have a blast running through these single moms racking up your numbers and just having a blast doing whatever the fuck you want no one to answer to. Hang in there fellas you’re about to have a good second half of your life". OP, I copied your statement so that I wouldn't have to repeat it. I followed this to a T, way back in the early 80s after the betrayal. We were…

Mine resolved that she lost both me and her AP, whom 'she loved', that she'd been played by him just for sex. I'd discovered the sea of women out there were plentiful, and I was desirable. She stayed close, co-parented, but never asked to come back. Too much was said and done.

"She was all ready to have some other guy be the dad to your children and when it didn’t work out for her she realized she’s a divorced mom with a litter of kids (4) and no reasonable man with an ounce of common sense is going to walk into that bear trap." I hope you dont mind that I added the (4). And I agree.

We can't be too hard on ourselves. You always read about the wayward spouse being in "the fog" and how it takes time for them to "break out or wake up." I believe that the BS is also in a "fog" that may take several attempts to R, and repeat betrayals for us to wake up. Those that wake up the fastest saves themselves a lot of extra pain that could have been avoided.

OP, I'm sorry this is happening to you and to the other men commenting here going through the same abuse. Anyone reading these subs may recognize what may be going on in your marriage. Unfortunately, it's not good. There is a definite pattern, a story that is shaping up to a possible EA and / or PA that your wife may having. An EA that she may not realize she's in or she's already having a full-blown PA. In every case, the BS looks back and admit not recognizing the Red Flags. The distancing and…
