I think that most women would concede that there are at least a few selfish, gold-digging whores out there. But never them. And their threshold for calling someone a selfish, gold-digging whore is MUCH higher than ours. Garden variety selfishness would seem normal to them.

Hopefully, marriage will change and the laws will become less onerous for men. Otherwise, fewer and fewer men will be willing to go through with it. At this point, marriage only appeals to women, gullible men, and the wedding-industrial complex.

I like this! And for the record, I don't really know if I believe there are "good" women out there. I prefer to be agnostic/indifferent to that question. I think it might even be possible to appreciate women in some contexts (e.g., I've had a few good female coworkers and bosses, and I don't think being friends with a woman is out of the question as long as neither of us has hopes/expectations for one another) as long as it's never as a long-term relationship partner.

I think it comes down to sexual politics. Every time I hear/read someone around these parts say something like, "Ever since women got the vote, it's all been downhill," I cringe. I think traditionalism was bad for men and women, and I am happy to see formerly marginalized groups (women, minorities, LGBT, etc.) enjoy more rights and respect. I don't think women are evil. They're just not what I thought they were. That's all. And I don't want to fucking vote for Trump, or any shit like that.
