It means that we're approaching a point where it's hard to articulate exactly how "the patriarchy" is actually keeping people down because this is the best time in human history for women's rights. I take that as a good thing, Millennials and Centennials are, in terms of morality, such a massive upgrade over generations past that we're finally seeing positive change. I'm not saying that we're all the way there yet, I'm saying that when it comes to change you're better off coasting to the point o…

If the other people there are feminists and that is their argument, then maybe they aren't on the right side of reality here.

Jesus, this woman just can't stop talking. Her lack of self-awareness is truly stunning, she can rationalize anything in her mind.

Helena always seemed like more fun to me than most of her contemporaries anyway, good to see she's hanging tough with Mr Cooper.

You know, that's a valid point I actually never considered so thank you for that.

All the sudden the grade advantage in college disappeared when classes went online and they didn't get FaceTime with their professors. I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

Well, with the consistency of releases after DNA exonerations that would mean the state is killing way to many innocent people so I'd rather let people wait it out in a box then pay for all the appeals and the lawyering. Executions aren't a deterrent, they are far too expensive, and they are far too final for the amount of exonerations we see happening.

For this stuff, if it's a slam dunk case, I wouldn't be surprised if everyone sat down and 3 seconds later someone breaks the silence with... were all in agreement here yes... fuck her right? Rest is paperwork and not wanting to give her a chance of appeal or mistrial by not appearing to wait long enough to come to a verdict so they spend the other 59 minutes playing charades or something...

Heeeeey let's do a crime wherein we use the most trackable and attributable technology in history instead of just picking up someone random manlet who walks out of an expensive restaurant and seems to be over served. It's not like any of this is a new crime, it's been happening since the beginning of time, but to see people attempt to carry it out in the dumbest way possible, over and over even after others get caught - it's impressive.

Yeah, but, can you think of a way that that's avoidable when you're focusing on how anything affects a group of people - specifically when an audience in front of you might be of a certain demographic or members of a group catering to a specific subset of people without spending 5 minutes qualifying all of the other groups that are affected in similar or different ways? It seems like we would end up with every statement needing extra citation and notes at the end of a sentence than the actual st…

I always took this to mean that historically wars aren't started or supported by women, but their the ones that get Nanking'd and rounded up like cattle and enslaved in war support roles as opposed to dismissing the victimization of men who die in combat proper.

Like, people have panic attacks for way less. After the stress of the event, incarceration, trial (and the whole time you know the truth of what you did and what you deserve), and then the verdict and finality of hearing your life end. I understand the reaction, especially from the kind of emotionally unstable person who would kill a kid like that, and the people in the benches also losing their shit. The difference is, in this case, we don't feel compelled to feel any sympathy or compassion lik…

A lot of people have their first sexual experiences around the age of nine. Most of those experiences are with people in their own age group, because that is what they have available around them. None of this has anything to do with the fact that what this lady did was wrong, and I'm glad she was convicted. I can only speak for myself, as someone who was online in the late '80s and early nineties, who had more than a little access to erotica (shout out to usenet and local boards) I can confirm I…

I feel like you could make some "Little engine that could" book about extolling the virtues of never giving up on your dreams, but with assault.

There seriously needs to be some sort of filter for those who don't want to interact with underage people. Online gaming is one of the few places where it's completely expected for me to be talking to a nine year old, and I would rather not engage with them or their muppet voices due to the inordinate amount of emotional instability and denial coming out of that demographic.

Filing false accusations don't have the penalties in place to equal what you would have if convicted if a rape you didn't commit, thus can't dissuade false accusations. Racially motivated murder is still just murder, yet it's a hate crime.

Yea, we're in one of those crappy transitional periods. We're clearing out the old institutions and replacing them with more modern versions, and people who can't get with the program are losing their collective minds. the most interesting thing I've noticed about this is that millennials and centennial seem to get along fine, even some gen-xers - it's those darn boomers always tossing a wrench into things 😁

They don't realize they are doing the exact thing they claim to hate so much, proving once again that the harder you push something away the more you're going to get of it in your life.

Girl scouts is just a terribly run MLM scheme, props to any girl willing to put up with the downsides of being a minority just so she can take classes worth taking and having badges worth striving for. There are plenty of reasons for scouting to decline in popularity that have nothing to do with the configuration of someone's genitalia, including the fact that a lot of scoutmasters were way too interested in the configuration of the kids genitalia among other things. That, and gatekeeping ex sco…

I took it literally, if there's an alternate meaning in use in not aware of it. Like, the boy scouts declining in popularity due to complaints from feminists, atheists, the alphabet people, girl scouts, etc.

It's a reply to someone who replied to OP. "The fall of the Boy Scouts perfectly illustrates the structural, creative, and moral bankruptcy of Feminism and Intersectionality. They cannot create, they only modify, pervert, and subvert established ideas to insert their ideology. To paraphrase a quote from Doctor Halsey’s journal, “They’re imitative, not innovative.” In that, she refers to the Covenant’s (a cabal of fanatical religious zealots) general inability to create their own weapons and armo…

Uhh huh, which is why of the 197 some nations, it's the liberal western democracies that have invented the most stuff while the conservative religious ones are still in the dark ages. And of the liberal western Democratic states, California is the most liberal and inventive, followed by other blue states in turns of GDP - followed by the larger conservative states and ending with Mississippi and Alabama as the most conservative and least inventive and profitable. The projection is so strong here…

The funny part is, if you had two bears or two lions and they're going to get in the fight and you had to have people bet on it - women would nearly always pick the larger one to win. We all intrinsicly know this, it takes real delusion to end up acting like a debate is required unless one of the participants is elderly, injured, or impaired.

The 100, Dark Matter, my favorite is when they punch and kick people wearing riot gear and it somehow disables them - realistically they are just trying to have nameless/faceless goon squads for protagonists to take out but the end result is a cavalcade of comedy. Writers are lazy. This isn't even a man women thing, people want to act like small framed men are similarly capable - I blame Jet Li for this - because before that you had realistically monstrous looking dudes laying everyone out. Then…

I always say, the closer you get to success on any issue, the sooner you need to shut up about it - because if you keep it up you'll just make it easy to mock your issue - and that will actually erode some of your progress. Just let things coast over the finish line, there's no reason for theatrics when you've already succeeded, it just pisses people off.

I mean, it's likely just people would rather not collide into one another and risk CTE when they can just binge watch Netflix. I went from highschool straight into the Army in 2000, but no way would I have ever been interested in organized physical sport, I could just never get excited watching millionaires on TV playing catch. Times they are a changing, I can still remember when my parents tried to make be play football in like 5th grade in Mississippi - there was no allure for me to stand in a…

I think of it as the ghost of once legitimate activism. There was a time it was needed, just like the abolitionist movement, women's suffrage - but now all the big smoking guns are taken care of and they are left to try and invent causes to champion rather than just live their lives with the knowledge that they already won, a long time ago, on the real actual issues of oppression.
