I have seen female fire...,women & garbage cleaners😜 Y'know that is the basis of Sexism. That men can, & women can't. I am certainly against that idea. As I know first hand that women can. But, I don't think all that goes on with feminism is fair to the boys ;-P

Aha! Interesting 🤔 It is important I think to give less power to these theories of men supressing women, rather than a system doing it. & Also to be open to the opposite. I know of quite a few men, as you can see in this subreddit aswell, who feel attacked for being male. & Then being shut down as 'only women are supressed', or 'only women can be attacked' Yet, 'only women can be right' & 'only men can be mean' ;-)

Lately I've kept my eyes open when the term is used for specifics of what they actually mean when they say 'Toxic Masculinity', but often it is just a tactic word.,

No, historically it is absolutely more common. You have to remember that the woman had no right to her own life. She could not own property or work, the man in his own private home could do as he please, the woman had no say, no way to escape. Usually she would marry someone her father deemed fit, even though one often did it in the appearance of free will. Where would this woman go should the man begin to abuse her? hit her? etc..? She couldn't make it on her own in that world, because there we…

You know. Sexual abuse towards women is at least historically more common, and it is also assumed more harmful to a woman, than a man. That is not to say there should'nt be help for men, just that it is not wrong to open one for women, especially not if those who work there specialize in abuse towards women and how to handle that, as abuse towards women in many cases would be different from abuse towards men. Abuse towards men is also very real and something that needs to be addressed, but not n…

Dominate does not necessarily mean majority. As I recently learned in a Migration class, places where whites aren't the Majority, they are still the dominant people. What happens to be is that historically women have been subordinated to men. Now, most men might not be to blame.., but many women do not see it that way. The 'World' meaning society was created by men, to be good for men, without the thought of women, or blacks, or gays for that matter. The white man walked wherever he wanted and t…

Sure. The state picks the laws. In democracies though they like to believe it is based on the people. Which in reality is just the media, for so people believe they are the media. & So the media is represented in the law, by the state :-)

Mm. Because the laws reasoning is to protect especially vurneable groups. Nobody of state believes women would get anywhere promoting man hate or supression of men in a world dominated by men. Say men were a supressed group in a fictional society, the hate laws would matter much more

Actually, our government said on their Instagram that they will start funding research and help into mens 'Equality' meaning i.e criminality and mental health. Although I am not sure that means the goal is to get less men in criminal sectors and more mental health, or to get more girls to be criminal and crazy 😜😅👌, the point is, the girls and women feel and know that men have been and are privileged in the society they created for themselves, and therefor they fight for Equality. Sometimes I fin…

I mean, I am 27 and single, but I'd say there is no shame in that..:-) sad as it is some people never find a 'longtime mate'. & Some find it later in life than others. There is also the generational thing that we live longer and longer, and we 'get married and have children' as is the common 'route' later and later [in life]. So no, we should'nt have a bad word for that, regardless:-)

I always thought feminism lies in the word. FEMInism. Now, Femininity is not only found in girls as masculinity is not only found in boys. Yet, Men tend to have more masculinity than femininity and women tend to have more femininity than masculinity. & So it is a fight for the Feminine to dominate, whereas historically masculinity has. The notion that feminism includes all is actually not correct. Feminism is usually associated with womens rights and womens liberty, whereas 'everyone welcome & a…

I think most, especially of that audience, meaning lesbians, know of the difference between bisexual and lesbian. I know very little about how this works among women, meaning lesbians, but lets look at men for comparison. Many 'gay' men date women, some do all their lives, not because they are attracted to women, but because society & the world tells them that is normal, and what they ought to be. This is the result of historical normalization, or; heteronormativity through the ages which still …

I don't think so. I believe, from my point of wiev, & I guess the product selling commercials goes to show, that there are certain kinds of bodies that are more attractive than others & so, fat models in a commercial would only make the person, or rather people, stop fearing fat, stop fearing food or losing muscle. Of course in some people fear is what drives them in their body workout, but that is definitely not healthy. & So, I believe if we had, as normal, that people of all shapes and sizes …

Well, you know, It's about health. Be it man or woman it is much more healthy to enjoy your body the way it is, than dislike yourself for not looking like the models handpicked for the commercials to make the product look appealing. The Argument that being fat is unhealthy is very true, but accepting your body the way it is is not the same as condoning unhealthy eating habits.

There's no reason to be rude. As for the wider notion, about feminists hating on men, I believe Many feminists are right in their notions, but not right to blame every man. Be it sex or gender. It is very generalizing. Who's to blame is not 'men' but certain people, structures and ideas. As for lesbians not being lesbians but Bi, I disagree, that notion, label or identity, lust or preferance is something internal only they know, but once again.., no need to be rude about it

The Women's movement isn't about Equality of both sexes, but of the liberation of women. The teachers get mad, because historically and today men has ruled and created the world. Men's rights, which is the name of the group, isn't really needed, as a [white, Cis-gendered, straight] man already has all the rights. The women dosen't want to live in a world created by men, for men. They want to live in a world for women created by women. Equality is the likely outcome, but, a wise man said leave it…

I think it is actually a misconception or misunderstanding. As far as I understand, the woman's fight was for liberation of women, and the women didn't agree on everything as different 'factions' if you will arose within the liberation movement. What happened instead though, was that the government (in Norway at least) proposed Equality, something many women sought not enough, as equality in a system already so controlled and manufactured by men would not lead to their goal, liberation of women.…

Interesting. Something we also discussed in Perspectives on Gender class. She hulk is just a male superhero, turned woman. It is the female version of a already well established [male] superhero. While wonder Woman is a female superhero in her own right.

The thing is, those issues may affect anyone, but generally in history and present societies across the globe, they don't affect them because they are boys, or per example because they are white, or because they are cis gendered, or heterosexual, While the opposite example of Women, Black, and transgender, or homosexual experience these issues because of their sex, gender, race or sexuality.

It has to do with the part (or side) of the women's rights movement that want the woman to be able to stay at home, and be a carer for the children if that is what she so desires. 'A stay at home mom'. In order for that to work, and for the woman to still be independent and not dependent on a male (or female partner for that matter), income,. She needs to recieve accommodation. Money, in one way or another, one solution is pay for house chores. Many Countries have cash for care to an extent, but…
