How does a study about completely different subjects help?

I don’t know how to say this without coming off rude, but I think it’s important to read studies before you post them as a counter comment.

Just an FYI, that study is about married couples.

I mean, OP’s tracking scenario is red flag city, but I share my location with my best friend and my roommate always. Safety and convenience are two of the reasons this adult allows to be tracked.

Life is too short to put up with great sex for shitty partners. Lol one day I hope to find the opposite or just an even scenario.

I agree if this is also the standard you have for female birth control

To lead by example means to guide others through your behavior and actions, not your words. If it’s not apparent what the example and benefits are, maybe it’s not universally something that should be followed by all others.

You’re advocating for all others to do what worked for you and your wife, and say they are supposed to follow the example of works for you and your wife. What works for you and your wife should stay between you and your wife. What is the purpose of pushing your beliefs on others who do not subscribe to your viewpoint and values?

What are you trying to understand or prove with your original post? I’ve read a few of your comments and I troll alarms are going off. I hope that’s not the case. If I am mistaken, can you please clarify?

What situation are you speaking of? I am trying to follow, but I didn’t see a comment that put this in context. Can you please clarify? Edit to clarify I do not have any children of my own, but I have been a nanny, caregiver, and hospice worker. There is a 13 age difference between my brother and I, he is 20 and entering his first university after completing junior or associates college. If I had a son, I wouldn’t do anything different than what I do now. I don’t believe needed situational conte…

I appreciate your perspective and that you share it in such a constructive manner. Im guessing there are a lot of factors that led each of us to feel how we do. I absolutely will look back on my life and the things I will cherish are the relationships. But I guess I don’t believe the most impactful or important ones are necessarily limited to a spouse. I can’t speak for parenthood, it’s partially why I avoid it.

I’m not sure how to answer your first question, I think context would help, but without it I would say I’m an adult? Or I am often referred to as a young adult but I’m not sure I identify too much that way. For me specifically, I am not sure I imagined the future too much in a proactive sense, but I do know I wouldn’t have ever thought this would be my life and that it would be fulfilling. I also think it’s a moot point to ask if I would want to live the same way as I did in the past, a decade a…

I am open to finding a romantic life partner, but I don’t feel an active urge or need to seek it out. At my current stage in life, I don’t really see the need to actively pursue it. I don’t want children, my career isn’t what most would call amazing but I enjoy it and I feel that it’s impactful in a beneficial way. Not sure about what constitutes an amazing lifestyle but I enjoy the one I have and the people around me. I honestly believe in 10 years if I were making more money and continuing the…

I’m 32, and since you have yours listed, INFP, but I have little desire to start dating in any capacity. I don’t see the point, I’m very happy and content with my life as is. I am open to it, if it comes about, but I don’t feel any need to seek it.

Very bold statement. Also honest. But I’m curious how you gauge your appearance objectively to say you’re a 9. Is it based on external judgements or like an understanding about societal norms in regard to what people find attractive or not?

In a post in this sub, a commented said something like “if you’re supposedly average but yet never get any attention whatsoever from even one single woman, you either haven’t realized it, need to get out more or you’re not actually average looking”

I am not usually one to question or body shame but the pictures you posted are really suspicious. Either you photoshopped or used someone else’s pics, both of which is wrong in this scenario. The bathing suit picture and the last picture… the feet are insanely different. Like not even a difference than could be attributed to an angle or lighting. Please don’t.

I agree with the prioritizing over the relationship aspect, but what I don’t like it them screaming heinous shit and yelling constantly. It’s very jarring.

My ex once told me “you’re not like in shape, you’re just shaped that way” so… whatever that means. I guess my natural bone structure and how I carry weight? I’m 32, 5’7 and 135lbs. I don’t work out but am decently active with regular life activities, and can eat whatever without it having an effect. I’m still waiting for the “it will catch up to you eventually” thing.

I appreciate your reply, and I agree that we are supposed to be disagreeing right now… but I’m not sure on what. I have reread OP’s post, and all of his past post history, and directly related to this one, I don’t think your comment and his post are ever close to similar. You’ve experienced rejection and have rejected others and you don’t seem to have a chip on your shoulder about it. I think we aren’t disagreement at all, and I appreciate your sharing the self reflection conclusions. (That soun…

Thank you for sharing some interesting historical facts I didn’t know until now. Are you in the US? While I disagree with the OP post, to me, that’s my opinion. But to say that men largely only had the right to vote because they are subjected to war is so out there and untrue, it blows my mind. Your response enforces this. If you’re an immigrant seeking citizenship in America, it’s not a guarantee you will become a citizen, but the path to seeking naturalization becomes a little easier. Again, I…

Not deep down, I do want companionship. I also find companionship within my social circle, at work, with my family… and my pets. All of those relationships bring joy to my life. I don’t see how owning a pet is an unhealthy thing? What about couples or families?

Or boundaries given the context of the original post. What is my motivation as a single woman, who is healthy, financially independent, lives alone, had a steady and positive career, and for the sake of the original post, biologically considered to be attractive, with a solid social circle and family. It is not sociopathic to not seek out a partner because I am happy with my life as is.

I’m not saying there is shortage of men who have their shit together, but if they aren’t adding to what I already have on my own or what I’m able to provide for myself emotionally, and don’t bring me joy, what’s the point? I don’t think there is a shortage of quality men, but I don’t see many who would improve my life as a single woman.

I feel as though an easy solution to this problem would be to ban "leading questions" in the Q4W category. A leading question would be any question that in asking the question gives a suggestion as to the answer. So for example this: Women of PPD, would you date a short man? (Antagonizes short men by suggesting something is wrong with them that would cause a woman not to want to date them. The question shouldn't be allowed to hold in itself the assumption that short men are lower quality.) Would…

Can you not read or can you not math? In 2018, approximately three fourths (77.7%) of abortions were performed at ≤9 weeks’ gestation, and nearly all (92.2%) were performed at ≤13 weeks’ gestation.

You commented below that you dismiss women who take initiate because of your perceived logic of why she isn’t as enthusiastic as you think is acceptable… maybe you’re not as engaging as you think in these situations.

My mom told me the same thing but I share your opinion. I think a lot of it has to do with transparency, communication and security Within the relationship and also your partner needs to be secure with themselves. One of my dearest friends is someone I hooked up with in high school and once or twice in college, we’re 32 now) and I would never ever be with someone that asked me to cut ties.

As a woman who was an ugly duckling and grew into what is traditionally accepted as “pretty” or “hot” or whatever, it is awful how aware I am of the differences in treatment that I know is solely based upon my appearance. I am 32 now, and I imagine in another 10-20 years, I will experience it again in reverse.

The whole argument of “you get free drinks” has always been absurd to me. I know and always have known that if I accept a drink from a guy it comes with an expectation (almost every time).

I’ve been assaulted and someone tried to break into my home the first time I signed a lease by myself. I think it says a lot it’s an across the board thing that all women use these preemptive defensive tactics regardless of if they have experienced it first hand. It’s because the odds are that it will.

Historically, the responsibility for contraception is on the woman. And it’s the same now. Of those dozens of forms of birth control, how many solely place the burden and side effects on the woman? It’s incredibly disproportionate. I have tried so many forms of birth control and contraceptives and have had some really horrid experiences that were mine alone to deal with. The lack of birth control available to men is of course largely in part to biology, but also a lack of research and funding. T…

The rates of reversing male vasectomy’s and female tubal litigations and being able to successfully get pregnant are so disproportionate. And the woman is likely to have to undergo IVF treatments as well.

Moreover, although these patterns are often thought to be stronger for women, especially White women, empirical evidence demonstrates that they tend to persist across broad segments of the population (Hamermesh, 2011; Han et al., 2009; Hosoda et al., 2003).
