Yes. I feel like I’ve finally broken my chains. The other thing I feel is a kind of restlessness. I feel like my life is slipping through my fingers and I’m desperate to get out there and live, but for myself. I want to go sailing and go out drinking and lift weights every day and read all night. It’s not a bad feeling, it’s just the ache of carpe diem. I have to live for me and no one else. Lockdown is definitely exacerbating this feeling too lol

I’m going to go against the grain here and say that in my experience, EE women are very submissive. Being forthright communicators doesn’t = not submissive. EE women are the biggest pickmes ever and I’m honestly tired of this myth that they’re really the bosses in their families, they make traditionalism world for them, etc. EE countries are some of the most mysognyistic in the world. DV is through the roof and family breakdown is even more prevalent there than it is in the west. EE women have e…

Is this for real? Lol as a British woman who worked in Russia for 2 years, let me tell you that Russian women have EXTREMELY low standards for male behaviour. I honestly don't know where this boss kween stereotype of Russian women is coming from. They are the biggest pickmes on the entire planet. Some of them get some sense in their thirties after they've spent a decade or so getting fucked over, but most of them are desperate for a man, any man at all. Their behaviour is absolutely not somethin…

Yep I agree. And I agree with the comment below about microexpressions. Sometimes the creepy expressions aren't even micro tbh lol

Yeah... speaking as a Western woman who worked in Russia for a couple of years, I would not hold Russian women up as any kind of role models. They genuinely believe that the only purpose in a woman's life is to attract a man - any man - and any women who doesn't is worthless. This mindset overrides any self-preservation or self-respect they may have. They excuse any bad behaviour that men do, and none of them will stick up for other women. It's only exacerbated by the fact that if you're not mar…

Hey, tomboy here. It’s not true that you have to be extremely feminine or have ~feminine energy~ to have men interested. Genuinely the only things that matter (I have found) is solid self-esteem and secondly, having hobbies or a social circle that brings you into contact with lots of men. The most important thing is the self-esteem, that can’t be overstated. I find the FDS brand of self-esteem a bit “fluffy” and cheesy, but the core principles will work for any woman. I just ignore any rubbish a…

This is not a Sylvia Plath quote. This is possibly the most un-Plath sentence ever lmao. This is like that "- Michael Scott" scene

I don’t think beauty equates to success in dating or life - because if that was the case then Marilyn Monroe, Cheryl Cole, etc wouldn’t have had such turbulent lives and relationships. I do think that there’s something to be said for “putting your best foot forward”, but it’s not as important as people think. I do think being well groomed makes you more confident, but that doesn’t necessarily mean salon visits and painful heels. For me it just means a flattering haircut and some moisturiser and …

In all honesty, scruffy short-haired tomboy. Trying to be less scruffy but it’s like it’s part of my soul lmao. Mega important that I read FDS imo because men always think that less feminine girls can be shat on and messed around. A tomboy queen is still a queen babey

Lmaooooo this never happened & I know you’re not a woman Edit because you deleted your other comment: I literally don’t know of any woman or girl who’d ever do this - apart from being utterly stupid, it’s not safe. Do you expect me to believe you never had one single scary response from men? Since I was a child I’ve had to perfect the art of not attracting men’s attention on the street and here you are saying you straight up insult them on the street and make yourself a target? Lmao whatever

The realisation that men only get married when they start to feel uncomfortable being single was a huuuuge eye-opener for me. In my experience they hit 30 and marry the first girl who comes near them. Not the girl who they love the most, or the girl who they’re most compatible with, literally just whoever’s in the vicinity at the time and vaguely eligible. It really is all about them. They do not love us the way we love them, they’re actually not capable of it. I definitely thought I’d get marri…

It’s the most intense high in the world, but it’s very unhealthy. I had my heart broken and had heart palpitations for 2 weeks. I couldn’t sleep because it felt like adrenaline was coursing through my veins 24/7. It was so painful. Part of me misses the intensity of the feelings but part of me is glad they’ve stopped. I wasn’t a functional human being before, and now I am.

One other thing that ought to be mentioned is that the trauma spiral can create incredibly strong physical sensations. Now that I have matured a bit and moved past this (partly), it does feel like I will never experience "love" again, because I don't experience the sensations that went with my past crushes (stomach lurching/contracting, feeling feverish, heart palpitations, dizziness). Even if you feel like that, you have to take time out to recalibrate your reactions to everything, which might …

My childhood was the same. It's so odd how it can create adult relationship patterns like this.
